Hello, everyone! :) I greet you all with the love of our Lord!

I've been going through a rough patch since my spiritual reawakening, and i am constantly being barraged by fears and doubts... It's tough 'coz knowing where i just came from, which is a period of great darkness and emptiness in my life, i am wary of falling into the same pit again, and making the same mistakes.

At the start of this revival, my eyes were set on nothing but my purpose, which is to glorify God in everything i do, and with all that's within me, and also to edify and encourage our brethren. And it was a very peaceful state of mind, coz i know i am just taking this walk with God, and He's showing me everything i need to see and understand. In return, He has answered my prayers, in the form of friends and brethren, which i didnt realize i actually am in great need of.

In the past, i've been abused in relationships i've had with so-called friends and lovers, even some brethren. The result was a great deal of damage in my ability to trust others...i try to keep a certain distance, and never want to develop any dependence on them for anything. If they needed something, i still try to be a good friend to them and help when i can. But internally, i dont feel connected to them at all. I loathed a great deal of hypocrisy that i see around me from day to day. The so-called "fair weather" friends who are only there when their needs arise, and then nowhere in sight the rest if the time. And the blatant users, who are just waiting for a gullible fool, who was, unfortunately, me oftentimes. Those experiences where lessons i learned hard as part of this reality.

But occasionally, i meet true friends, who reflect God's unconditional love and understanding, and have the ability to encourage me when i'm really upset or lonely, as well as make me laugh when it's farthest from my mind. I consider them as God's blessing, and treasure them dearly.

Sadly though, at times, i still make mistakes. Erring on the side of paranoia...i mistake good people for bad ones. Lack of trust, plus unspoken fears, plus low self-esteem equals disaster and drastic courses of action. I have recently learned this...and truly regret it. I still need to learn to see myself through the eyes of the Lord, who loves and accepts me as i am, imperfections and all. I need to learn to have the eyes that discern truth from falsehood...sincerity from lies. I need to learn when to be on guard, and when to open myself and be vulnerable. It's a very tough transition to go through, but i trust God will show me the way. All i have to do is fix my eyes on Him, let Him lead my hand, and not be afraid.

And so, again, my favorite verse comes to mind. 2 Timothy 1:7 - For God hath not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

Please feel free to share your own experiences here about mistakes in your life. Let us overcome these trials together, brethren. I'll be praying for you too.

God bless you all, and have a good day!! :)

I deal with many of the same issues. Its a lifetime process, though. Trying to recover, and change. I've been trying so hard, and for so long to change myself in many ways. Some i've seen change, but much i have not, or very little. It can be disheartening at times. Some days i don't even want to try. But this is the life of faith. Perpetual growth.

Recently after watching Hose Season 8 Episode 3, I realized that I had been avoiding CC

because I was not comfortable with the degree to which I am liked and received I am on here.

yeah, that makes a fat lot of sense.

So Now I am trying to work myself back in to actually logging in, reading & posting more, replying to PM's more, emails more, et cetera.

This? On top of trust issues?
Whynot.

I got more issues than National Geographic.

So what? You're liked too much so you quit coming on? *poke, goob :p

I felt this way .. I handed it to God and asked for His help in discerning the fruits of "His" spirit
Love joy peace patience kindness and long suffering ..
Knowing His fruits has helped me a lot .. Anything outside of these arenas I still have a tendency to bolt ..
Just takes time .. getting familiar ..

1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

Isaiah 43:25-26
"I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more. Review the past for me, let us argue the matter together; state the case for your innocence.

Isaiah 1:18
"Come now, let us reason together," says the LORD. "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.

2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!

Do you believe what these scriptures are saying? Too often, we believe that we must constantly feel remorse for offenses in our life because of sinning. Obviously, you have confessed your sins not only privately but also openly in this forum. God forgave you the first time you sincerely confessed and repented.

Your childhood behavior is natural. It had nothing to do with pornography. Hormones cause behaviors and are how we develop as human beings. It is not nasty, foul, or any of the things we are taught as children concerning the "birds and the bees". The person that violated you is the guilty one and he alone must bear the burden of his own sins. He was wrong.

Give yourself time to heal. Emotional injury takes more time to heal than physical. Trust in these scriptures and above all; forgive yourself. You are not bad, dirty, guilty for another's violent act against you. Cultural issues are at play also. Jesus is with you and so are many prayers to the Lord to deliver you from these oppressive circumstances.

Jesus Is On Your Side and I pray that the Lord gives you a hedge of mighty angels to protect you by day and night. Amen.

Be strong, you are not alone.
God's protection and blessings be with you.:)

Wow...i'm quite surprised to see some responses...

I thought that people don't want to say anything connected to this thread, mistakes being such an uncomfortable topic and all. Thank you for all the love and support your giving, all in the name of our wonderful Saviour!! :) i am honored to be numbered among such great brethren. I am taking my time, at the Father's feet, listening to His instruction. Taking it all into heart. But i do admit i have trouble forgiving myself...i no that my mistakes aren't a stain that remains still upon me. I know God's forgiveness is complete and absolute, and all has been paid for by our beloved Christ upon the cross. The guilt really does a number on me sometimes. It's a deception from the enemy i must reject, for it can paralyze me, and make me imagine a wall that separates me from freely coming to the Lord. Daily, i must read His Word, and remember His love, mercy, grace and faithfulness to my unworthy self.

God bless us all and fortify our hearts and minds with His blessed and powerful Word!!! Praise and glory to our Eternal King, forever and ever!!! :D

a small handful of years back, I came to realize that by choosing to not forgive myself, that I was declaring that I was somehow special. I was proclaiming that I was different. I was holding myself out as needing more. I was electing to say that the death of Christ Jesus, the Holy Son of God, was not enough for ME. Oh, sure His sacrifice was enough to make things right for everyone else, but I was throwing in God's face my belief that somehow I was worse, that I needed something more, and I was claiming that the power of Christ and His death & resurrection were not sufficient.
But His Grace Is Enough For Me, for Even ME. (2 Cor 12:9)
I've managed to master that idea...
I'm now more working towards trying to see myself as Christ sees me.
My two biggest struggles are learning to trust again, and self worth - something that I can now see has been at the root of Many of my problems in life. Surely the evil one planted a life-sucking vine near me when I was yet a sapling, but by Christ's power, I shall still be a mighty oak. I will not let this issue of self worth wither me all of my days, for in time, I will with the aid of my Lord God root out this problem. Little by little, I am learning. God values me. Some days I do a better job of it than others, but I value me, too.

Azure and seatbelt - When I read your post I was like " geez did I write that ?"
I can so relate to you... I went to a place here in Oklahoma city called "scope ministries" I think my entire world turned from upside down to right side up when I took their classes .. I am thinking about taking them all over again just because they were that good !! I laugh now because really I had never heard the truth about who I "really am" .. As a woman , daughter , mother, sister, .. I'm sure my facial expressions spoke volumes as well as my mouth being opened and on the table , along with tears through a lot of it .. tears are part of the cleansing process though..and once you receive all the identifying "truth" marks of who you are?? Hmmmm Hmmmm you start realizing "how long" you've been without Gods armor on .. And cone to a point later kn where you can really laugh at how smart you thought you were .. You will get to those points.. sometimes I think God let's us get a "REAL GOOD" taste of how sour darkness is.. Because when His truth comes out?? ... BAM!!!! !! I was like "and why I have i NEVER been told these things? I even started asking my family .. And I was absolutely stunned .. They hadn't ever heard of it .. .. I give glory to God and I thank Him for the trials now .. for those who's paths He put me in ... those not afraid to speak the the truth..who know Him.. I have absolute confidence you are going to be wowed!!

I used to implicitly trust everyone. I don't think I ever really learned why trust should be placed carefully, plus I was a small-town girl with no real experience with the world. I don't think that being innocent about these things was a mistake, but I was more stupid than innocent, and that was a huge mistake. My life would have been a lot easier, and happier, had I ever just stopped long enough to actually think about things and listen to that little voice in my head saying "This is gonna be bad, walk away now".

I think that last bit is true for most people; we get into a situation where we have a choice to make, we ignore what our hearts/minds are trying to tell us, we screw up, then kick ourselves and wonder why we didn't listen.

The smartest people only do this a couple of times, or learn from watching others do it. Others...like me...have to...keep checking to see if a hot stove is actually hot, so to speak. Eventually we're like, "DANG, that burns, maybe I'll stop now."

Ms Chris I can totally see you slapping the hot stove with your fingers ...Wap wap wap! I used to do that too

ACCORDING TO THE WILL OF JESUS: COMMENTS THAT YOU MAY BE FREE INDEED

Ephesians 6:16 “Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.”

Hebrews 9:14 “How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?”

These two scriptures of Word helped me recover from a spiritual fall. The devil really beat me up day and night using my own conscience against me with guilt. I was spiritually paralyzed also. Every time I wanted to move forward in Jesus, guilt was ever present and I would prematurely end a prayer, fasting assignment, or would not witness to others because I felt less than they; the enemy whispering in my ear (conscience mind) calling me "hypocrite". Yes, all lies from Satan our arch-enemy and the enemy of Jesus.

The Lord is so gracious to give us the two aforementioned scriptures:

1. The "dead works" are born as it mentions from the conscience. "When did the conscience of man develop?" you may ask. It developed within men/women when Adam ate the "forbidden fruit" from the tree of the "Knowledge of Good and Evil" that was located in the Garden of Eden.

The inherent knowledge of good and evil is what we call today our consciences. From the consciences we produce fruit/works based upon what we find good or bad. I will not delve into the particulars of this statement but nonetheless, what you do in the flesh is considered works/fruits of the flesh or fruits/works of the conscience. It is these dead works of the conscience that the Lord is making references too. Once we accept Jesus as our personal Savior, our good works and evil works are considered dead works. They cannot produce anything that is good or bad where Jesus is concerned.

That is correct, no matter what we think or do it is not good or bad enough for Jesus. That is why it takes the "blood of Jesus" to cleanse our consciences of what we determine as good or bad; we can discuss this as separately with other CC members if you wish to start an independent thread. It is the righteousness of Jesus that we are robed and it is His goodness that God sees because we are hidden in Jesus the Christ. We are cleansed by our faith or unwavering belief in His word and the guiding of the Holy Spirit that delivers and communicates by spirit to our regenerated Souls.

The "shield of faith" is produced from our minds also. Faith is belief. Whatever we believe nothing can penetrate our minds to take action in the flesh contrary to that belief. Our belief in scriptures (Word) is what strengthens our belief in Jesus. When Jesus said you are forgiven of all your sins when you accepted me, it "is" so. Now, if we begin to doubt it opens an avenue for the "wicked" (devils and people) to use contrary negative words and actions to cause doubt. "What are he fiery darts?", good question. Here are a few:

> Guilt > False Accusations > Fear > Rejection > Low Self-Esteem > Deceit

Be encouraged. We are forgiven. Thank you for the opportunity to share.

By-the-way it isn't up to you to forgive yourself, that too belongs to Jesus. Now that you are forgiven, continue to "encourage yourself" in the Lord. Jesus said that you are an awesome and wonderfully made sister.

Continue in Jesus:)

I like your style iTOREtheSKY. U must be from Cali or one of the other great Metro's. Keep loving Jesus; you are an encouragement in the CC.
