Ok I am an old person that has been sitting and waiting for God to bring my special other for a very long time now. I'm just curious as to how many others here have done the same?

I've read a lot of the fat, age, and blah, blah, blah, yackity, smackity stuff on here already. I am not concerned with all that. What I want to know is how long do we have to wait, already? I mean, getting older while waiting is not something that makes a gal feel comfortable.

Not to mention that spirit filled people are rare as it is to find. I cann't even find a congregation that is spirit led here. To think, I live in the bible belt. These churches are more into competition over getting the most people in thier church. They are more concerned with pleasing the people then with bringing them to God.

The people go to church not to find God. They want a place to socialize, or to be entertained, or what-ever. It would not be so bad if I could at least have fellowship with other spirit filled christians. So, I ask, where do I turn?

None of us here (or anywhere else) can answer your question. Only God knows what is in store for your future. It is frustrating and disappointing to wait for so long for something you long for with no answers, but try to keep your head up.
As far as churches go, it is disgraceful that so many are interested only in numbers. They have compromised truth in exchange for large crowds that go only for entertainment and to feel good about themselves. All fluff and no substance. "In this world you Will have troubles, but [Christ] has overcome the world." Anyone that teaches to the contrary is a liar.

You know, you gotta leave your house to get groceries. If you gotta do that to get groceries, I'd reckon you have to do the same or more to find a mate. God don't bring your groceries to your door step and he won't do the same for your wife/husband. So get active and put some effort in to it.

I agree that we must go to the store to get our grocies. The same concept may apply to finding our special other. Problem is, where is the store? Where to go?

I am in my 70's, and my wife died in 1986. I am alone since, and was hoping for the right one to come along also. But all I got was divorced woman looking to get married. And many were nice enough to marry, but the bible says to stay away from those who have been put away. Guess it is just better to wait upon the Lord and not think of myself so much. Besides with only 21 months left until the rapture, I can wait for the new life in heaven.

Laiahna your funny you made me laugh. I've been married. Lived in sin. None of them were who God wanted for me. It was all a waste of my life. Be glad you didn't do like me. I hope the Lord sends someone to you soon. I'd rather be alone than to ever be with the wrong person ever again in my life. You know God is to be our first love and he is to fill all our needs. Stay close to him and be happy with him. How we wait till our dreams come true is part of the journey. Be happy while you wait. To be sad while you wait makes it take longer. I can't believe people are still saying they know when God is coming when God says no one will know. Same as calling God a lier. Ask God to give you his peace while you wait so you don't feel so lonely ok. God bless you, Love

"I'd rather be alone than to ever be with the wrong person" is why I am waiting. I never said I was or am unhappy. Yes, God is the first in my life and will always be the most important. lol That is right about calling God a liar. Is also why I said " nobody knows exact time". What I remember reading is that some will come close but, that nobody will know when.

I'm happy to have made you laugh. Laughter is a good thing. :)

Oh and I also keep thinking of what God said: "Be still and know that I am God.". That helps me have pacients.

Think again L, It is complicated, but there is a teacher that has discovered God's plan to bring the rapture about on 5/21/2011. The 2012 thing is a Mayan calendar thing, and is not biblical, and that is the difference. I could tell you this teacher name and where to find his web site if you are interested. He put out some free books of his biblical proofs that shows the exact details that God has in store and why the verse only God knows is not appropriate for these end days.:)

Hi in one of the answers to you one of the people said they knew what time God was coming. From how you wrote I thought you were all upset. I'm happy your not. Have fun. God bless you, Love
