Perhaps the words of Yeshua are sufficient as to resolve this question, that is providing one believes the Word is the Bible, and it is breathed by our Father. He is addressing Satan. (font slightly enhanced for the vision impaired.)

Mat 4:4
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Mary has no power. She is not omnipresent, she was a blessed mother for the Christ in her time. But now she is dead.
Body is yes, not her Spirit, nor Abraham's, or Noah's, or King David or any Saint in Christ, by faith they have been saved and when Christ went to death graves were opened up or have you not read this, and I am not defending Catholic religion or any other I am defending God. God is not religous and God is not in a building and God true tabernacle is in and of heaven period where we worship in Spirit and Truth Hebrew 8
[h=3]Hebrews 8[/h]The Message (MSG)

[h=3]A New Plan with Israel[/h]8 [SUP]1-2 [/SUP]In essence, we have just such a high priest: authoritative right alongside God, conducting worship in the one true sanctuary built by God.
[SUP]3-5 [/SUP]The assigned task of a high priest is to offer both gifts and sacrifices, and it’s no different with the priesthood of Jesus. If he were limited to earth, he wouldn’t even be a priest. We wouldn’t need him since there are plenty of priests who offer the gifts designated in the law. These priests provide only a hint of what goes on in the true sanctuary of heaven, which Moses caught a glimpse of as he was about to set up the tent-shrine. It was then that God said, “Be careful to do it exactly as you saw it on the Mountain.”
[SUP]6-13 [/SUP]But Jesus’ priestly work far surpasses what these other priests do, since he’s working from a far better plan. If the first plan—the old covenant—had worked out, a second wouldn’t have been needed. But we know the first was found wanting, because God said,
Heads up! The days are coming
when I’ll set up a new plan
for dealing with Israel and Judah.
I’ll throw out the old plan
I set up with their ancestors
when I led them by the hand out of Egypt.
They didn’t keep their part of the bargain,
so I looked away and let it go.
This new plan I’m making with Israel
isn’t going to be written on paper,
isn’t going to be chiseled in stone;
This time I’m writing out the plan in them,
carving it on the lining of their hearts.
I’ll be their God,
they’ll be my people.

Sounds good. And I agree that Christ defeated Satan by giving us a chance at salvation. BTW....... to defeat someone you have to be at war with them, right? In war, you resist and demolish. You mentioned both. Bye

Satan, you won't beat me! In the name of Christ Jesus, I will defeat you.
Hey bro.. Don't take this wrong. you know I am not against you. But I think you need to realise something. You will never defeat satan, none of us will. Only God can defeat satan, He did with his gospel. Satan can not harm us, he can not take us away from God. Even if he could kill us, he still loses. because our souls belong to God. and no one will snatch us from his hands..

It is dangerous to think you can defeat satan, When we think this, we are in satan's territory, and he will squash us..

Mary isn't in heaven though; the dead have not been judged yet.

She is a mere woman, on earth and in spirit. She was a sinner on earth, or else she never would have been born on the earth.

The Son of man came to seek and save the sinners - not the righteous hun.

Mary was not perfect, she was not sinless, and all she was was a vessel for which Christ could be brought into the world.

Why do you " hail her," and why do you bow down to statues of her? Why is she idolized?

I do believe Mary will enter heaven, but according to scripture, no one has been judged for it yet.

Again I say, how do you even know Mary has received your prayers?
her Spirit is, not her body and all the Saints counted as Saints are there in Heaven with God, in Spirit for God can only be worshipped in Spirit and truth
John 4:23But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
John 4:24God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
John 14:17Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

If only the Holy Bible contained every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God......... Coz the last I heard, the world in its entirety wouldn't be big enough to hold the teachings Christ gave, in writing. The rest might have been passed down in other ways. Possibility? I refuse to believe that our Lord's teachings, so precious, are limited to a single book. No way!!! He is more than capable of teaching through other ways.

Brother, it's been along time since I was in the Catholic Church, but, like I said, I was raised in it. I don't remember everything I did in that church, but I got with the program until I figured out it was bogus. Statues, images, and medallions that represent dead "saints" aren't supposed to be used to pray to or asked to pray for something. We should pray to the living God not dead saints.

See Author, I have bothered to take authority over false religion.
Nowhere except in your church and the eastern orthodox pillar of outwardly robed righteousness is Mary deified.
Can't you see she was not God, and therefore not part of the Godhead?

Listen bub, look up 'queen of heaven' and see where it originated from and why it is attached to the virgin Mary.
Nowhere is she part of the Godhead.
Only Ishtar(Easter), and Semiramis is the queen of heaven spoken of,....only in pagan rituals and practices.
Research and you will find the truth of your evident false gospel which includes deifying Mary, and making her (a fully created human), part of the eternal Godhead.
Thus I say you pragmatically practice the pagan rituals of polytheism in your attenuated worship(on this board) of "mother" Mary.
Looks like you've been poisoned against the Church by the likes of Alexander Hislop, Jack Chick and Lorainne Boettner.

This nonsense about the Ishtar/Semiramis/Mary similarities started with a book by Alexander Hislop called "The Two Babylons". It became the anti-Catholic Bible for Catholic haters, including one named Ralph Woodrow. He wrote a follow-up book called, "Babylon Mystery Religion", based on Hislop's findings. HOWEVER, Woodrow did some actual RESEARCH on his own. I know that research is a foreign concept to most of you here but I applaud Woodrow for his efforts.

After his research, he stopped the printing of his book and wrote another one called "The Babylon Connection?" in which he retracted ALL of the statements he made against the Catholic Church. You can read all about it from Woodrow himself right here:
Ralph Woodrow Evangelistic Association

Although he is still a Protestant, he is no longer an ignorant anti-Catholic - which is more than I can say for most of you . . .

Maybe a little more homework and a little less beatring false witness against the Body of Christ might do you some good.

Hey brother!! How've you been. I miss you, man. Yeh, I see what you mean. What I was getting at though was I will defeat his temptations. I won't let his temptations drag me away from Christ. I didn't mean I was going to kill him. lol I wish I could, but like you said, that's God's job, man. Praise God, good to see you. How's things? I suppose we'd better finish the personal stuff in pm lol God bless you.

As I observed in an earlier post - you weren't a very faithful or knowledgeable Catholic. Your own posts have exposed that much . . .

Is it because you have faith that Mary received your prayers?

I thought faith should only be in God and God alone?
Well fro me yes and at the same time I thank God for Mary, that he counted her worthy to bear Christ and know that Christ is thew way, the truth and the life, and by the cross Christ's work is completed proof the resurrection.
Now Christ did say
[h=3]Matthew 12:46-50[/h]King James Version (KJV)

[SUP]46 [/SUP]While he yet talked to the people, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, desiring to speak with him.
[SUP]47 [/SUP]Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee.
[SUP]48 [/SUP]But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?
[SUP]49 [/SUP]And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!
[SUP]50 [/SUP]For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.
So now the ? is What is God's will and what is the fulfillment. LOVE right to love not as the Heathen do for they only love them that love them
How are any of us here any diffearant if we only love those that love us?
Luke 6:32
For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them.

Funny you should say that because Mary is the ONLY creature in heaven being spoken of as having a BODY in the Book of Revelation (Rev. 12:1).

Another misinterpretation of Catholicism, and mis-translation. But that's ok. Tell me something, mate. Would you have the nerve to be so rude to some one to their face? You seem to be able to trigger an anger in me that hasn't been touched since I was saved, and you do it only through your rubbish attitude trying to lift yourself above others. And on top of that, you're 64 years old. You're at a stage in your life when love should be abounding in you. And I bet you enjoyed reading the part where I told you that you make me angry, totally ignoring the fact that its a sin to say something intentionally just to arouse anger in someone. Why do you do that? lol Christian? really? I would rather be a Catholic and have it wrong(like you think) but be filled with love, then be whatever you are and be filled with envy, hatred and bitterness. God bless you and GUIDE YOU EVERY DAY OF YOUR LIFE.
When it comes to the TRUTH regarding salvation, I don't play the lovey-dovey game. I'm glad my post hit a sensitive nerve in you.

wow, you are not serious are you? Rev 12: 1 is speaking os Isreal. who gave birth To Christ. The 12 stars represent his 12 children (12 tribes) of which one of them mary came through (judah). Not the woman Mary, who is awaiting the return of her savior with all of the saints who went before her and have went since!

okay maybe this might help to clear this up, please tell me who Christ is?
If you don't know that, how can you call yourself a Christian?
Jesus Christ is:
The Word of God through whom all things were created (John 1:1). He is the Son of God, the Second Person of the Trinity. He is the Truth (John 14:6), the Savior of the world. He is the Head of the Body, which is His Church (1 Cor. 12, Col. 1:18).

Mind you, this is an extremely short description.

lol I knew you would be glad. I told you so. But just to clarify, man, it didn't hit a sensitive nerve because it was in any way the truth. It was your arrogant attitude. The same as the arrogance of so many in my past life that got me into alot of trouble. And you knew it would cause me to anger. Had you spoken to me with respect, Mr. tough guy not playing lovey-dovey games, then maybe I would just have listened. Instead, you talk with bitterness. I don't understand why you speak what you call the "truth" with sarcasm. I really can't comprehend how this is Christian in any way, shape, or form. I'm serious. lol Honestly, think about it.

Prayer of St. Gertrude the Great

Eternal Father, I offer Thee the most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal Church, those in my own home and within my family. Amen.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church defines purgatory as a "purification, so as to achieve the holiness necessary to enter the joy of heaven," which is experienced by those "who die in God’s grace and friendship, but still imperfectly purified" (CCC 1030). It notes that "this final purification of the elect . . . is entirely different from the punishment of the damned" (CCC 1031).

The purification is necessary because, as Scripture teaches, nothing unclean will enter the presence of God in heaven (Rev. 21:27) and, while we may die with our mortal sins forgiven, there can still be many impurities in us, specifically venial sins and the temporal punishment due to sins already forgiven.

........

SO 'PARENTLY CHRIST DIED FOR NO REASON.

He suffered and died to offer people 'God’s grace and friendship' and that's IT!

oh that's SO Biblical (not).

Re: There is no such thing as Sola Scriptura - because we have to terrorize ppl with images of purgatory and we have push Jesus aside in any way possible - put Mary there instead, a guy in a crown on a throne - what ever.

ANYTHING but This:

1 Corinthians 15
1Now I would remind you, brothers,a of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, 2and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you—unless you believed in vain.

3For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, 4that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, 5and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. 6Then he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep. 7Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles. 8Last of all, as to one untimely born, he appeared also to me. 9For I am the least of the apostles, unworthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me was not in vain. On the contrary, I worked harder than any of them, though it was not I, but the grace of God that is with me. 11Whether then it was I or they, so we preach and so you believed.

Funny how somebody like you can claim to believe that Jesus healed the sick, gave sight to the blind and raised the dead - yet he cannot allow those in heaven to hear us.

What an appalling lack of faith in the power of Almighty God . . .
I know all the Saints are in Heaven and see this to be true. The ? is from me to you why does the Catholic Chirch pray to Mother Mary? Who is the way to Heaven? I again know Mary is there and I know Paul is to, so wht don't we pray to all the Saints and not Christ? Does the Catholic Church end all prayers in The name of Christ or the name of Paul, or in the name of Mary? Just curious because I remember Paul saying not to bow to him and Peter saying the same things as to this not toput them on any pedestal. And it seems that this is what is being Done. Now only each person themselves can decide this in and of themselves between God and them whether this is true or not true.
I am not by any means condeming anyone for their practice, I am not God, I just Love god because God first loved me via the cross, and am estatic. elated over this, and see for me nother way to worship God except by Spirit and truth, reception of the Love of God best described to me in 1Cor 13, all else goes away except love God's type 1 cor 13:13 and God is love
So do you think that when we are in heaven we wll be so busy praising each other as what goes on in all denominations? Or might we be too busy praising God for this miraculous provided by his Son Chrisat Jesus not Mary, even though he was the virgin that supplied Christ through her womb.?
thanks in advance for your response

No I don't remember that part, quite honestly, bro. But the way I do it is like this. As soon as I start to get tempted to do something that I know will offend our Lord, like perve or GET ANGRY!!, or talk dirty etc etc, I turn to anything righteous and concentrate on it, like the Holy Bible, praise and worship music, look to the sky and talk to the Lord and ask Him to guide me through it. It works every time bro. He has never left me alone when I called on Him. I almost let it slip tonight, but the Lord had my back man lol. Satan works in places and people you least expect him to. Even christian websites. Trust me lol

it is in chapter 6. And we do it like Christ did.

"It is written"

Thats the only way to defeat satan.. Notice satan never argued with Christ? he can;t it is the only thing that will defeat him
