Why is it that...

...so many seeking to be wise are thought as fools, but those thought of as wise often think of themselves as fools?

...when given a paradox, paradigm, or otherwise parable...it seems as thought irony holds true to reality?

...we have so many questions, and yet so many feel as thought they know all the answers?

Ohmygoodnessgracious I do that too!! My parents are coming in this weekend and I'm trying to be productive and clean house, but I'm prolly gonna end up doing it the night before cus I have to be at work early the next morning.

Why is it that I'd rather procrastinate on cleaning instead of actually doing it right now that I have time???

Laffin my buns off here...when I was married,My ex & I used to do the same thing. We'd have like months in advance notice that her family was coming to visit...but noooooooooooooooooo we'd wait till like the night before to clean the house top to bottom,make up the guest room for her parents & brothers...I mean we'd wait till the last second. Procrastination is a beautiful thing. Why oh why is it that we repeatedly do it,knowing full well we hate ourselves afterwards?lol

Why is it that my mom would always leave my house cleaner than she found it but her mom would always leave the house worse than Before we cleaned it before she arrived?
Why is it that once we stopped cleaning the house before her mom came to visit, her mom started leaving less of a mess?
Why is it that the mess of the house was an accurate barometer of how her mental health was, and that this could be accurately read even if the house had been cleaned?
Why is it that in other marriages this would have instead been a barometer for how the marriage itself was doing?

Why is it that people have such a difficult time phrasing their comments, and even their responses in the form of 'why is it' questions?

I did the same thing when I was "young"...I'd spend days cleaning before my parents came.

Now that I've had three kiddos living elsewhere, I realize parents don't give a rip about what the house looks like, and we remember all we went through to make things look good, and the toll it took.

Why is it as adult children we don't understand our parents are just so thrilled to see us they don't see anything else?

(oh! yeah! we haven't experienced it yet! :) )

As predicted, I'm gonna have to clean like a madwoman tonight because my parents come in tomorrow afternoon while I'm at work. My brother is also coming this afternoon to cut the grass cus it looks like a jungle back there.

I go through this every time they come. Why is it that I never learn??? Jajaja

Why is it that we Still have trouble forming questions?

Why is it that on days I decide to sleep in I'm up like a whack-a-mole <pop> but on regular days when it is critical to be up the gravity is extra strong under my bed?

Why is it that I can memorize stupid things like songs or movie lines, but when it comes to important school things I can't remember the answer to save my life?

Why is it that I've denied myself enjoyable things? I don't need to pay penance, and yet I restrict myself as if I'm a child who is being punished.

Why is it that it's 5:02am and I'm awake? It's my day off and I have no class. Arrrgh!

Why is it that...

...we all (or at least many) seem to procrastinate or otherwise put off what we should be doing (enjoyable or not)?

...it always seems so easy to be late, but so hard to be early?

...hardly anyone seems to call or text you unless it's either a) an inconvenient time b) while you're doing something else c) somewhere you can't easily answer...? (yes, I know all these play into each other, but can also be separate situations.)

Why is it that there is always somebody who busts up into a silly conversation with their serious face on and says something that makes everyone else feel like being silly is bad?

Why is it that my mother-in-law sleeps half the ay when she's here?

Why is it that I always have the best of intentions when reading a thread and say to myself ''Self! THIS time you're going to read all the way through to make sure you don't miss any good bits''.....and within about 30 seconds I just skip to the end.

Why is it (almost) impossible for a woman to pack light? Every time I go somewhere I always take way too much stuff. I have a humongus suitcase that I bought specifically for a 1 week vacation. I'm not really gonna need much besides clothes, so what else is there to put in it??
