Seeing as how this is hopelessly derailed...

What is the difference between apathy and ignorance?

it was long off the tracks, I think, but will let Lady J declare that herself.
The inviso-text as you have named it was there to bring attention to the footnote, to direct attention to the prior footnote, wherein the punchline for the joke was contained.
again, as said in different words on another thread... what else can we dissect past the point of humor?

Have you ever noticed how quickly "love" can turn to hate for some people? I think you probably see it on FB more than anywhere else. :) Oooooooooh the drama. :) One day someone is posting lovey dovey pics/posters of their man/lady, and practically overnight they are posting nastigrams and making snotty remarks about them.

I could understand if the person shot your dog, cheated on you, abused a family member or some other horrible thing, but seriously....you hate someone overnight and never want to speak with them again just because things didn't work out?

If a person is going to behave like this over a breakup, are they really mature enough for a relationship in the first place?
I always think of true love as a choice, not an emotion. It's choosing what's best for God and His kingdom (people). I know that there are definitely emotions involved in a romantic relationship and that's FANTASTIC! But really, shouldn't we be choosing to love someone even when we don't feel like it? I think that might be what the problem is in the scenario that you described, the people feel angry, wronged, hurt, frustrated, whatever the case may be and therefore they act on their emotions rather than choosing to love the other person, no matter who is in the wrong, and doing what's best for them. I don't think that verbal or cyber slander is really the most loving thing to do, ya know?

Matthew 5:38-40
“You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.’ But I say to you, do not resist an evil person; but whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also. If anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, let him have your coat also.

Matthew 5:44But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,

I've found that a huge part of doing what's best for someone who has wronged me is to forgive them, pray for them and sometimes (if the situation permits) find ways to serve them. Sort of a "kill them with kindness" type of deal.

From what I've learned of marriages and long lasting relationships, choosing to love even if you don't feel like it and bringing everything, including your significant other, before God in prayer, is what keeps the relationship going strong. I'm sure there might be other factors but that's the basic gist of it all I think. ^_^

Note: I am NOT saying that you should let someone continue to abuse you in any way, just that in your heart you need to forgive them and not let bitterness and resentment build up but give them to God and let Him deal with 'em. ;) But if it's abusive, by all means, get out and go elsewhere to pray for them. lol
