Well, maybe I'm dumb, but I've got to admit: I thought might (vaguely) understand what this guy (in the video) was trying to say about there having to be some markers on our DNA to prove that, at some point, two different species with a different number of chromosomes got together (in order to prove human's and apes descended from a common ancestor), but the truth is, I didn't understand his assertions well enough to derive much of anything from this video. However! I do know this much. First off, I know I would have to
assume that this guy's assertion is true before I could take seriously anything else he says. But I've no idea if it's true that certain supposed markers have to show up on our DNA to prove this or that, or that they're even supposedly, for sure, there. Again, I have to
assume this guy's telling me the truth about these markers, or at least, that he himself knows all the facts concerning them, before I'd even consider his assertion that "here's the proof right here," etc. In fact, I have to make a
ton of assumptions before jumping to the conclusion that this guy is making a lick of sense in the first place! Tell me-- why should I jump to the conclusion that this guy
knows perfectly accurate facts about all this stuff, let alone believe he's proving jack squat? Lemme guess. You're going to tell me he's got all these letters after his name and is super-intelligent scientist. And there you are right there, asking me to accept these qualifications on your say-so, besides the fact that all these super-intelligent scientists don't even agree with each other on this stuff! Now you're going to line two or three of um up that agree, right? I've taken a ton of college science courses, and I'm well aware of how scientists disagree on just about everything can name! Kinda like us in this forum.
So what you're asking me to believe is a bunch of stuff based yours and his say-so. Right? Well buddy, you're asking me to
assume wayyyyyyy too much. And you're thinking I should overturn my entire belief system based on all these assumptions? Give me a break.
Oh, by the way; you also are assuming all these things.
