Christ said if you love Me, keep My commandments. So if you love Him that much, why fight so hard against keeping His commandments? It's like the thread on this chat where people fight to their last breath against getting baptized. I just plain don't get it. Why can't we just do what He asked if we love Him all that much. Because we'd actually have to sacrifice something? Give something up? Face possible ridicule from others? Truth is, we're not willing to give a day to God. We don't believe Him enough to trust He'll take care of us if we keep His commandments. That's a very cheap kind of love. "I love you God as long as I have to give nothing."

"Those that love Me do what I say."
Yes 1050 commandment of the gentile that I am and the covenant of His Agape yes I know intimately His agape what are you talking and referring to me about it being cheap? I do not and I do not know your point of reference again you are pre conceived I do not treat one day different that another this is not a valid conclusion. What am I fighting that He has commanded to me? How do you know? What is it he told you that I am not keeping? Is it enough that you keep what He has told and put in your heart? So, it is with me. I am pursuing what He asked of me, you are and were not present when He tells me what to do for Him. I am not the sacrifice I am asked to deny myself which I am pursuing take my cross and follow Him. He has never told me the Sabbath observance but He has told me what I wrote in the above sentence. I have given Him all my self I really do not, have not, experienced what you are trying to give me. His Agape is not, has not and I by His mercy will not accept you or anyone else' claim I am or have cheapened it. "That's a very cheap kind of love. "I love you God as long as I have to give nothing."
There are quotes here I never said or implied this this is not valid to say of me.This is wrong can not say this about my heart and soul.

Re: I try to follow the Sabbath according to the Bible to the best of my ability

That's pretty much the same conclusion I've come to through my studies as well. I think it would be a blessing for everyone to watch and consider. Whether you keep the Sabbath or say Christ is our Sabbath. There's a lot we can benefit through further study of His word. But I would like to submit to you a thought about the statement in Colossians regarding judgement of others concerning Sabbath days.. Can we read this text one more time?

Col 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:

I'm assuming we both agree The law of Moses containing ordinances of blood sacrifices, feast days, meat, and drink offerings was nailed to the cross. The reason being that each of those were enacted prophecies specifically given to the Jewish people to foretell the coming of a true lamb of God that would shed His blood, offer up his flesh/body and sacrifice his life in place of ours. God gave them to the Jews so they have a constant remembrance of the plan of redemption. Leviticus 23 describes 7 different feast days contained in the law of Moses. The Bible specifically calls at least 3 of them sabbaths. There might be a 4th one out of the 7 but I can't remember right now. Though it is important to notice there are multiple "sabbath days" connected with the Law of Moses and feast days. For instances..

The feast of trumpets was a Sabbath
Lev 23:23 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Lev 23:24 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation.
Lev 23:25 Ye shall do no servile work therein: but ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD.

The Day of Atonement was called a Sabbath
Lev 23:26 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Lev 23:27 Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD.
Lev 23:28 And ye shall do no work in that same day: for it is a day of atonement, to make an atonement for you before the LORD your God.
Lev 23:29 For whatsoever soul it be that shall not be afflicted in that same day, he shall be cut off from among his people.
Lev 23:30 And whatsoever soul it be that doeth any work in that same day, the same soul will I destroy from among his people.
Lev 23:31 Ye shall do no manner of work: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.
Lev 23:32 It shall be unto you a sabbath of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your sabbath.
Lev 16:30 For on that day shall the priest make an atonement for you, to cleanse you, that ye may be clean from all your sins before the LORD.
Lev 16:31 It shall be a sabbath of rest unto you, and ye shall afflict your souls, by a statute for ever.
Note: For anyone who understand the 2300 days(Dan 8:13-14) the only way we could understand the Sabbath had to be at the end of the time period. Because that was when the Most Holy place containing the 10 commandments was opened in heaven (Rev 11:17) at the commencement of the Anti-typical day of Atonement in which 4 years later was the first time the Sabbath was proclaimed among God's people since the dark ages.

The Feast of Tabernacles (booths) was called a Sabbath
Lev 23:39 Also in the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in the fruit of the land, ye shall keep a feast unto the LORD seven days: on the first day shall be a sabbath, and on the eighth day shall be a sabbath.
Lev 23:40 And ye shall take you on the first day the boughs of goodly trees, branches of palm trees, and the boughs of thick trees, and willows of the brook; and ye shall rejoice before the LORD your God seven days.
Lev 23:41 And ye shall keep it a feast unto the LORD seven days in the year. It shall be a statute for ever in your generations: ye shall celebrate it in the seventh month.
Lev 23:42 Ye shall dwell in booths seven days; all that are Israelites born shall dwell in booths:
Lev 23:43 That your generations may know that I made the children of Israel to dwell in booths, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.

The Bible distinctly calls these Sabbath days connected with meat offerings and drink offers to be "Beside the sabbaths of the LORD"
Lev 23:37 These are the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, to offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD, a burnt offering, and a meat offering, a sacrifice, and drink offerings, every thing upon his day:
Lev 23:38 Beside the sabbaths of the LORD, and beside your gifts, and beside all your vows, and beside all your freewill offerings, which ye give unto the LORD.
Col 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
Note: These two scriptures sound strikingly familiar don't they? It gets even more tight when you look at the greek work used for "holyday" which is Heorte and is the same word used in Joh 5:1 "After this there was a feast(Heorte) of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem." So the Holydays spoken of in Col 2 is speaking about feast days and Lev 23:37-38 clearly says they are separate from the Seventh-Day Sabbaths of the Lord. Then in Col 2:16 mentions these sabbaths are connected with new moons.
Is the Seventh-Day Sabbath connected with new moons? No but the feast of trumpets is.
Psa 81:3 "Blow up the trumpet in the new moon, in the time appointed, on our solemn feast day."

From what I understand Colossians 2 is dealing with a law of ordinances that was completely fulfilled and abolished at the cross. I haven't found any indications of the 7th day Sabbath being spoken of anywhere in Col 2:14-17. It all seems to point to a law of ordinances that were nailed to the cross. So my question is why would Paul throw in a quick admonishment of not judging others of how they observe the Seventh-Day Sabbath? It seems to throw off the consistency there. Col 2 says this law isn't used for judgement.

But is there a law that will be used in Judgment?
Jas 2:12 So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.
Jas 2:13 For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.
Which law is this?
Jas 2:11 For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.
God will hold us accountable for our actions. The standard of God's judgment will be His 10 commandment law. Including the Sabbath. But at the same time by no means would I say I have the discernment or position to judge another brother on how they keep the Sabbath or to laugh at them because their convictions are different then mine. I completely agree with everything you mentioned about not judging others on how they keep the Sabbath but simply put I don't see how Colossians 2 is where this principle is taught.

You haven't read the ten commandments? You say Christ is God, right? You'd agree it was He that led the children of Israel through the desert? Wasn't it Him that wrote the ten commandments with His own finger? Wasn't it He that said, "if you love Me, keep My commandments?" Wouldn't you agree that the Word of God is God's message to us? So that's God talking to you. Right? So you think He'd tell you something different than is in that book? What did He say about that? Test the spirits to see if they are of God? If they contradict scriptures, they are not of God. So if you're hearing something that contradicts scriptures? That spirit is not of God.

Instead of Asking me whether I am hearing from my Lord Jesus please go to your prayer closet and ask Him if you are hearing Him about your preconceived ideas of religion about me concerning obey the Sabbath whether He is telling me to obey the Sabbath, I read His 1050 commands to; avoid trouble makers(I am not inferring you) be complete in Christ, be holy, be reconciled, to forgive those that speak wrongly of one, be as wise as a serpent, humble, avoid vain and profane talk, unlearned questions, arguments about the law titus 3,ask life for backsliders for mercy and compassion, exceeding glade, thanksgiving in all things, avoid foolish questions, harmless as a dove, patient towards all men etc. 1030 more. This everyday constantly opening my soul sing and making songs to Him, you do not know anything about me, if you really did desire God's agape from Jesus for me you would go and talk to Him about me listen and see what God would put on your heart to reply and write about, if you have real ears of spiritual ability to really hear and feel the heart and soul of God's desire for me or any one else for me these exceed one day but are for everyday for I desire to walk and emanate His Agape to all I see and even pass by.

You know, I apologize for being so harsh. You're right; your walk is with God, and I need to remember I'm talking to a person when I talk on here that my words can hurt. I just would encourage you to study deeply on this. Obviously, you love God and desire to do your best for Him. What I've said is my interpretation of scriptures. I guess I should just leave it at that. Certainly I will admit I know many strong Christians that clearly love God yet see the sabbath issue differently than I do. It does confound me that the Christian world can't seem to agree on issues such as this, but loving one another, I'm sure, is the most important thing to God. All we can only do is our best to understand these things accurately. Obviously God would expect no more than that from us.

Sabbath in the polar regions

In the Bible, there is a clear definition when Sabbath starts and when it ends. When darkness comes on Friday, Sabbath starts and will continue till next sunset. But in polar regions, like in Tromsö, the sun does not rise or set up to six months. In the town I mentioned, the sun does not rise or set for two months. How can one define Sabbath in this region?

The Jews did not have to deal with this problem till Jesus Christ died on the cross. Yet, they were not any Jews in these areas till the 18th century!

I am happy that Jesus is my Sabbath. The Sabbath is for the people and not the other way round.

You have not listened and so it only appears that way as you yet see it through a carnal mind.

Go back and care to think about my past posts in this thread. They are clear unless one chooses deliberately to ignore what was said. And don't give me the same you are not God rubbish that all spiritual men have been given by men with carnal minds. Actually take time to think about what was said and examine the scriptures which it is said to be based upon.

Hear Paul, Hebrews 10:1a "For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, ..." is speaking about that entire law and not just the animal sacrifices.

That entire law was but shadows leading to Christ. Galatians 3:24-25 "Wherefore the law [the whole Law] was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster."

By what you are advocating you are not being obedient to the counsel of Colossians chapter 2.

Colossians 2:15 "And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. [IN WHAT? IN THAT OLD LAW. THAT OLD LAW SYSTEM COMPLETE WITH IT"S LAW DESIGNED AND HANDWRITTEN FOR CARNAL MINDED FLESH, IS THE OLD WINE SKINS AND CHRIST TRIUMPHED OVER IT.]
16 therefore, Let no man judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ."

Now go back and read and think about my previous posts.

When time will be no more...will there be a Saturday Sabbath? Christ is our rest.

When there is no more sun or moon...will there be a Saturday Sabbath? Christ is our rest.

What good is it to observe the first creation's sabbath when we ignore the eternal (2nd Creation) Sabbath...Christ is our rest.

What good is it to rest on Saturday when we are flustered Sunday thru Friday?... Christ is our rest.

The Sabbath as the other 10 are a reflection of God's nature ; God rested as it is His nature. He has given us as a temporary gift, a rest one day in six; and as an eternal gift our rest in the finished work of Jesus Christ.
I don't know if these are rhetorical questions or not but I believe the Bible has answers to anything we may ask if we search for the answers with a willing, believing, and sincere heart.

When time will be no more...will there be a Saturday Sabbath?
Would you consider when the earth is made new and all who are saved pass through into eternity then time will be as if it is no more? Will there be a Sabbath?
Isa 66:22 For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain.
Isa 66:23 And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.
Note: We get our calculations of months from the cycle of the moon, years from us revolving around the sun, and days from Earth rotating on its axis. That's why the Bible says in the beginning of Creation Gen 1:14 "And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:" Even though Adam and Eve were created to live for ever God still had time in that perfect eternal environment. We know there will be time in the new earth because Isa 66 says "from one new moon to another" that means every month. So honestly there will never be a point where time doesn't exist. I may be wrong but it seemed to me at least you were referring to the days when we live forever in heaven and it wouldn't seem like there would be a need for time. Will the redeemed from the earth be keeping Sabbath in heaven? Isaiah seemed to believe so. Not just the redeemed but "all flesh" will gather in heaven every month, each sabbath "to worship before...the LORD".

When there is no more sun or moon...will there be a Saturday Sabbath?
Rev 22:5 And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.
Rev 7:16 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.
Rev 21:23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
Isa 24:23 Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed, when the LORD of hosts shall reign in mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, and before his ancients gloriously.
I encourage you to read the context of each of these. You'll find they're each describing what the heavenly city will be like living with God. It's beautiful to think about huh?

In the City of God "there shall be no night." None will need or desire repose. There will be no weariness in doing the will of God and offering praise to His name. We shall ever feel the freshness of the morning and shall ever be far from its close. "And they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light." Revelation 22:5. The light of the sun will be superseded by a radiance which is not painfully dazzling, yet which immeasurably surpasses the brightness of our noontide. The glory of God and the Lamb floods the Holy City with unfading light. The redeemed walk in the sunless glory of perpetual day. {GC 676.3}

I can't wait to get there. My greatest joy will be when you and I will be able to sit underneath the beautiful tree of life and eat of the fruit that brings life and vigor to our once sin ridden bodies. It will be a glorious day indeed.

What good is it to observe the first creation's sabbath when we ignore the eternal (2nd Creation) Sabbath...Christ is our rest.
God is a very systematic and methodical God. He has an order to the way he works. I've notice many people jump to the end of the story and make very strong decision before really considering the beginnings of our teachings. Where God lead us in the past. I'm not saying we should only believing the Old Testament and disregard the New but I am saying it won't hurt if we consider a few things of the first creation's Sabbath before we consider the 2nd and final Sabbath. God is reasonable, Isa_1:18 "Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD".
Who created the world?
Eph 3:9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:
Joh 1:1 In the beginning was the Word,(Sounds like Gen 1:1 don't it?) and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Joh 1:2 The same was in the beginning with God.
Joh 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
Who is the Word?
Joh 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
Note: The Word is Jesus.
Heb 1:1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
Heb 1:2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
Col 1:13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
Col 1:14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
Col 1:15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
Col 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
Col 1:17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
Who was it that created? It was Jesus. "by him all things consist." "all things were created by him, and for him" "without him was not any thing made that was made".
So then the one who did this was no less then Jesus.
Gen 2:2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he(Jesus) rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
Gen 2:3 And God(Jesus) blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God(Jesus)created and made.
Note: Jesus was the one who blessed the seventh day. Jesus is the one who sanctified the seventh day, which means to set aside for a holy use. Jesus made the Seventh day Sabbath a special event for his people. It was Jesus who fellowshiped face to face with Adam and Eve that first Sabbath in the garden. The Bible says when God blesses something that blessing is never taken away. 1Ch 17:27 "Now therefore let it please thee to bless the house of thy servant, that it may be before thee for ever: for thou blessest, O LORD, and it shall be blessed for ever." If Jesus blessed something I wouldn't want to miss out on what ever blessing He has in store for me. I've never read anywhere else in the Bible where God has blessed or set aside any other day or even every day to be blessed and holy as Jesus did for the Sabbath.
What does it mean for something to be Holy?
Exo 3:3 And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt.
Exo 3:4 And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I.
Exo 3:5 And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground.
Note: The ground was holy because this was where the very presence of God was. For something to be holy means God is there and God has sanctified or set aside the seventh day to be Holy which means He is especially present to the believer on the Seventh day Sabbath. It truly is a blessing.
Exo 3:14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.
Note: The great "I AM" is the God who was leading Moses and instructing him with the nation of Israel. It was the I AM who originally gave the ten commandments to Moses.
Who is I AM?
Joh 8:58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
Joh 8:59 Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.
Note: Long before Moses ever was, longer before Abraham ever was, Jesus said "I AM". The Jews knew exactly what this meant because in the very next verse they were about to stone Jesus for blasphemy. Jesus was the I AM who gave Moses the Ten Commandments, including the Seventh Day Sabbath commandment.
What is a sign between Gods people and I AM?
Eze_20:12 Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am the LORD that sanctify them.
Eze_20:20 And hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I am the LORD your God.
Exo_31:13 Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth sanctify you
Note: Not only is the Sabbath a sign between us and God that we "may know" He is the I AM in our life and the I AM the one who we serve but the Sabbaths also have a sanctifying influence upon God's people that He uses to make use holy and set us aside for a holy purpose. We learn from John it is only the truth that sanctifies. Joh 17:17 "Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth." The Sabbath is the truth.
Which day is the Lord's day?
Mar_2:28 Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.
Exo_20:10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
Rev_1:10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet,
Isa_58:13 If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:
Note: Jesus is "the Lord also of the sabbath" because He was the one which created the world, instituted the sabbath before sin, kept the first sabbath with man, and gave the 10 commandments to Moses. Therefore the Lord's day is the Sabbath.
This is why Christ is our rest
Mat 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Mat 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
Mat 11:30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Note: Doesn't that sound like a "delight" an "honourable" entreaty? No longer do I have to do my "pleasure", my "labour", my "own ways", my "own pleasure, nor speaking" my "own words" rather my "heavy laden" soul can "find rest", Christ easy yoke, His light burden, while I learn of his lowly, humble, and meet heart I study His word and as I learn of Him I realize Christ is Lord of the Seventh-Day Sabbath. He always has been. The Sabbath He gives us in the new testament is the one He himself kept as His custom was. Luk_4:16 "And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read." Then as I continue to learn of Him and the way He lived I hear Him speak to me saying. Joh 13:15 "For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you." Jesus kept the Seventh-Day Sabbath in Creation, and because he made that day holy his presence was with His people every Seventh day throughout history, and even today He wants to bring rest into my soul on His holy day.

What good is it to rest on Saturday when we are flustered Sunday thru Friday?
No good whatsoever. God wants us to be holy 7 days a week. Many people even though they believe the Seventh day is the Sabbath because of their lifestyle majority of the time do not truly keep the Sabbath holy. Only holy people can keep a holy day. God wants to bring our characters into closer connection and relations to His. As we read one of the methods He does sanctify us is by the Sabbath. But if we don't allow His divine grace to influence our hearts 6 days a week. There's no way we could keep the Seventh day holy either.

The Sabbath as the other 10 are a reflection of God's nature ; God rested as it is His nature. He has given us as a temporary gift, a rest one day in six; and as an eternal gift our rest in the finished work of Jesus Christ.

Seeing as though that is not a question but a statement might I ask you a question?
Is the Sabbath referred to in the Bible as something temporary or something perpetual that continues for ever?
Exo 31:16 Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant. Exo 31:17 It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.
Note: Actions speak louder than words, and by God's one actions he worked on the common day sunday and rested the seventh day and made it holy. Recognizing Jesus lived for 33.5 years before He died then He would have kept over 1700 Sabbaths in His lifetime. Would it not be safe to follow the example of our Savior? Here the Sabbath is describe as perpetual and for ever. We learned in the beginning it will be kept all throughout eternity in heaven. I haven't read somewhere that refers to the seventh day Sabbath as "a temporary gift" before. Maybe I may have overlooked something. If you know of any scriptures I'd be happy to consider them. But as of now I have read anywhere saying the Sabbath was given but for a short time. But I have read the commandments "stant fast for ever and ever" Psa 111:7-8 "The works of his hands are verity and judgment; all his commandments are sure. They stand fast for ever and ever, and are done in truth and uprightness." And that all His commandments are righteousness. Psa 119:172 "My tongue shall speak of thy word: for all thy commandments are righteousness." But I find something interesting the Bible says in the same chapter about God's righteousness which are all His commandments including the Seventh Day Sabbath. Psa 119:142 "Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and thy law is the truth." All His commandments are everlasting commandments. Not only that but His law is the truth. And when you look in the margin for this verse you'll find habitation actually means foundation. Notice what the foundation of God's throne is. Psa 97:2 "Clouds and darkness are round about him: righteousness and judgment are the habitation of his throne." "All thy commandments are righteousness" you're not trying to overthrow the throne of God are you? Because Heb 1:8 "But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom." A sceptre is the staff that a king holds as the authority over His subjects. Not only is the 10 Commandments the foundation of God's throne but it's the standard by which he rules His kingdom. There talks about another power who is against the keeping of God's law. Rev 12:17 "And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ." Rev 12:9 tells us this dragon is Satan. 2cor 11:3 & eph 5:25 tells us a women is a symbol of a church. God's church in the end of time will "keep the commandments of God" Rev 14:12 This is how the saints are described. "Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus." I don't know if these answered your questions. Maybe they did maybe they made more questions come up. I know it's a lot to read but if you read this far I want to thank you for giving me your time and your energy by hearing me out. I've found nothing but joy and peace on the Sabbath. Like another poster said. It's like waiting for thanksgiving when all the family comes together, you have food prepared to each and enjoy with your family, I spend quality time with God and like minded believer. It's like a holiday but every seventh day of the week which is Saturday or how you say it in Spanish Sabado. Sounds similar huh? In Russian it's Subotah. In Italian it's Sabato. In over 145 major languages Saturday the seventh day of the week sounds like Sabbath. I'm going to sleep now good night. :) and..

God Bless You!

He who does not recognize a Sabbath, has no Sabbath. Sabbath is more than a day.

Re: Sabbath in the polar regions

Jesus is not Sabbath, scripture does not say this. Jesus is our Savior.

God is eternal and without time, but God uses our time for our training. When God says to do this, if you have faith in God or Jesus if that is how you know God, then you will do this. There is a spiritual reality that we accomplish when we do what God tells us to do. When you tell God that you are right, God isn't and you purposely go against what God tells you, then you are defying God. And using this when the sun rises and sets in the polar regions to defy God is really not funny.

In the City of God "there shall be no night." None will need or desire repose. There will be no weariness in doing the will of God and offering praise to His name. We shall ever feel the freshness of the morning and shall ever be far from its close. "And they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light." Revelation 22:5. The light of the sun will be superseded by a radiance which is not painfully dazzling, yet which immeasurably surpasses the brightness of our noontide. The glory of God and the Lamb floods the Holy City with unfading light. The redeemed walk in the sunless glory of perpetual day. {GC 676.3}

Heb 1:1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
Heb 1:2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
Then as I continue to learn of Him and the way He lived I hear Him speak to me saying.

When time will be no more...will there be a Saturday Sabbath? Christ is our rest.
Answer: Christ is only right now our only Sabbath with all of the Sabbaths summed up in him because to keep any of those Sabbaths of God we must be made holy 100% of the time, 24 hours a day, every day. So you see how he fulfills it? His holiness fulfills it? And that holiness has to come to be the reality in us if we ever be able to keep those Sabbaths and it mean anything. It is objectionable to God for that which is unholy to brag that they keep his Sabbaths. Observing them right now means nothing as we are not holy yet. And keeping them is sort of like claiming that we are holy, which right now he does not want us to be doing.

When there is no more sun or moon...will there be a Saturday Sabbath? Christ is our rest.
Yes, those are metaphors and not literal. They picture the end of depending on the physical blessings and that completed uplift to depending on the spiritual blessings by means of the Father [the sun as the main source of light] and the Son [the moon as the perfect image of that main source of light], in holiness purified as though seven times by the refiner's fire.

What good is it to observe the first creation's sabbath when we ignore the eternal (2nd Creation) Sabbath...Christ is our rest.
For now we do all our Sabbaths in Christ not ignoring any of them, but instead practicing the holiness that is Christ as required for those Sabbaths every day, 24 hours a day, every day. Else we would never learn to be holy as he is holy and what profit be those days to us then? None.

What good is it to rest on Saturday when we are flustered Sunday thru Friday?... Christ is our rest.
That is correct. We cannot fool God and he certainly will not accept us to be clean only one day a week. He would vomit us out of his mouth. That is why those Old Law Sabbaths had to come all to exist in Christ so that we could turn our attention away from one day a week and practice God's righteousness in Christ (which is God's holiness) full time.

The Sabbath as the other 10 are a reflection of God's nature ; God rested as it is His nature. He has given us as a temporary gift, a rest one day in six; and as an eternal gift our rest in the finished work of Jesus Christ.
Say what? :)

I know you probably do not realize it, but you have presented what are actually some of the best arguments for why we must keep that Sabbath everyday, resting in Christ.

Will you be willing to see that all of those things commanded to be done on the Sabbath are the very same things required of us anytime we enter into God's temple?

Back then, under that Old law Covenant, how often did anyone enter that earthly temple? That Sabbath back then is not only a memorial. It is a memory that we are to keep that God worked six days and then rested. Why?

Because it lead us through six days of work in the flesh by the carnal mind and culminated to the Lord of the Sabbath where once in his rest, we no longer go back out.

That is six days in this fleshly woman's womb being nurtured by a water of the word of God (That Old Covenant law) written in the carnal letter to carnal flesh: Galatians 4:21 "Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law?
22 For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman.
23 But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise.
24 Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar.
25 For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children."

But as Paul said, 1 Corinthians 15:7 "After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles.
8 And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.
9 For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God."

Galatians 1:13 "For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it:
14 And profited in the Jews' religion above many my equals in mine own nation, being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers.
15 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace,
16 To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood:
17 Neither went I up to Jerusalem to them which were apostles before me; but I went into Arabia, and returned again unto Damascus."

Brothers, please: Galatians 4:19 "My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,
20 I desire to be present with you now, and to change my voice; for I stand in doubt of you."

Galatians 4:26 "But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.
27 For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: for the desolate hath many more children than she which hath an husband.
28 Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.
29 But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now.
30 Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman.
31 So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free."

The Old Law Sabbaths pictured God's plan to allow those Jews and all among them six days in the flesh to prove the uselessness of their work in the fleshly womb of a fleshly Jerusalem with a temple that they only entered once in a while, and thus teach them that they needed God's grace and mercy in Christ to share of those promises by spirit.

Those Levite priests that lived in the temple, as also those dedicated to temple service in that temple, picture those elect of Christ who would receive the right of the promises under that Old Law as a grace from God by extension of Christ's right to those promises and become part of the spiritual temple Hebrews 12:18-24 and Ephesians 2:15-22 speaks concerning.

The elect of Christ no longer ever leave that spiritual temple and they are under constant obligation to keep that temple clean: Matthew 21:12 "And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves,
13 And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves."

Ponder this, please. Those six days of work in the flesh pictured: Galatians 3:24-25 "Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster."

We disobey those things by not understanding them. It is too easy to only think we understand that they must be kept to a rote letter. That is the fleshly view.
Oh please know that Jesus Christ Is My Sabbath rest. I just wanted to provide a Biblical list of some of the requirements of Sabbath to give some of the people perspective who think they are required to keep it every weekend. I was waiting for someone to say "yes, I keep that list to the letter!" but no one seems to have done that yet. Because really at that point that you are "keeping sabbath" by your own rules, you're just making up your own religion and calling it "Sabbath keeping."

A true born again Christian, who believes in the Biblical Gospel, is not "under the law" or ANY of the 10 commandments. So the bigger question is do people actually believe in the Biblical Gospel or "another Gospel" of their own creation or that they heard from someone?

"Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:[SUP] 14 [/SUP]Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it." - Matthew 7

Two important points here:

1. "If ye love me, keep my commandments." - John 14:15. This is one of the misused verses in Scripture on this forum. You are using the word of The Lord Jesus Christ out of context. John 14 is a continuation of the sermon from John 13. In that sermon, Jesus Christ The Lord defined His commandment:

"A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.[SUP]35 [/SUP]By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another." - John 13.

The commandments of Jesus Christ are to love and believe in Him and to love our brethren. This is confirmed again by John in 1 John 4:

"If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?[SUP] 21 [/SUP]And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also."

You are misapplying Jesus' Words to the 10 commandments when they have nothing to do with them. Jesus gave Christians new commandments. A real born again Christian has no duty to the law of the Mosaic covenant. It is a broken, dead covenant that has been annulled.

2. "We don't believe Him enough to trust He'll take care of us if we keep His commandments. That's a very cheap kind of love. "I love you God as long as I have to give nothing."

Love in exchange for nothing IS GODLY LOVE. Romans 5:8 confirms this - while were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
When you were rejecting God daily, walking in unrepetant sin, Jesus had already proven His love by dying on the cross for you.
What you are promoting as a "superior form of love" is quid pro quo or harlot love. That's actually the worst kind of love and is the relationship Satan seeks with his followers: "IF YE DO THIS...then I will give you something." A man is to love his wife regardless of what she does to him. That is how Christ loved the church. Godly Love is not to be based on what you're getting back from the other party.

It's like celebrating a holiday every week, a holiday set aside for us by God. That's how I see sabbath. It's a holiday that says, the creator, who created heaven and earth in six days and rested on the seventh, is my God. I celebrate this day because He gave it to me, He hollowed it Himself in the Holy Scriptures for His people to always keep.
So are you keeping it in accordance with Scriptures rules??

Re: I try to follow the Sabbath according to the Bible to the best of my ability

We find all sorts of vague references to the sabbath that we can twist in our favor to support our position. When it says don't judge people in regard to sabbath, it's saying don't judge others concerning how they keep the sabbath. In other words, if they think walking to church is not work, then don't be picking on them. You'll remember that the Pharisees created all sorts of rules about that that didn't come from scriptures. That's what was being addressed in Colossians, not throwing out the sabbath law entirely.
Let's look at the actual verse in context and see if what you're saying is true:

"Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:"

The word "therefore" automatically means that this verse is a conclusion of an argument from the preceding verses. so we should look to those to get the context of what this specific verse means.

"As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:[SUP]7 [/SUP]Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.[SUP]8 [/SUP]Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. [SUP]9 [/SUP]For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

[SUP]10[/SUP]And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: [SUP]11 [/SUP]In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:

[SUP]12 [/SUP]Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. [SUP]13 [/SUP]And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
[SUP]14 [/SUP]Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;"

Ok, so in context we can see that Paul's argument is that we are complete in Jesus Christ. That every requirement necessary to "quicken us" or give us eternal life has been completely achieved through Jesus Christ. And now the "ordinances that was against us" meaning the old covenant, have been "blotted out" and "taken out of the way." via the cross. Thus if you are a born again Christian, the law of Moses no longer applies to you. ANY OF IT. ALL OF THE COMMANDMENTS have been taken out of the way.

"

[SUP]15 [/SUP]And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
[SUP]16 [/SUP]Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: [SUP]17 [/SUP]Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ."

So rather than Paul saying "don't be judging the person who says they mow their lawn because it reminds them of an ox in danger" or "I keep Sabbath to the best of my ability" what the Apostle really meant was no one has any right to say you have to keep sabbath, a holy day, new moon or eat any particular type of food at all. Why? Because they were all forehadows in the Mosaic law that has now been removed and fulfilled in Christ.

You are still holding on to the shadow. Those who believe the Biblical gospel are embracing the actual Jesus Christ, now His shadow. I only right this out of love as I want everyone to just understand the basics of law, the covenants and the Gospel. It is so important that we believe the Biblical Gospel and not preach "another Gospel." And I think it has become accepted to play fast and loose with the Gospel. So Lord Willing, you will see my concern and not perceive this as an attack, even though I strongly disagree with you. God bless.

What does "keeping" a saturday sabbath have to do with the Holy Spirit?

How does the work of the flesh and the rest of the flesh apply to growing the fruit of the Spirit?

Mat 5:17

Think not that I came to destroy the law or the prophets: I came not to destroy, but to fulfil.
Mat 5:18

For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass away from the law, till all things be accomplished.
Mat 5:19
Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Re: Sabbath in the polar regions

Jesus is not Sabbath, scripture does not say this. Jesus is our Savior.

God is eternal and without time, but God uses our time for our training. When God says to do this, if you have faith in God or Jesus if that is how you know God, then you will do this. There is a spiritual reality that we accomplish when we do what God tells us to do. When you tell God that you are right, God isn't and you purposely go against what God tells you, then you are defying God. And using this when the sun rises and sets in the polar regions to defy God is really not funny.
How would you define Sabbath in the South pole or in Barrow when the sun does not set or rise?
