I don't know if these are rhetorical questions or not but I believe the Bible has answers to anything we may ask if we search for the answers with a willing, believing, and sincere heart.
When time will be no more...will there be a Saturday Sabbath?
Would you consider when the earth is made new and all who are saved pass through into eternity then time will be as if it is no more? Will there be a Sabbath?
Isa 66:22 For as the
new heavens and the
new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain.
Isa 66:23 And it shall come to pass, that from
one new moon to another, and
from one sabbath to another, shall
all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.
Note: We get our calculations of months from the cycle of the moon, years from us revolving around the sun, and days from Earth rotating on its axis. That's why the Bible says in the beginning of Creation
Gen 1:14 "And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:" Even though Adam and Eve were created to live for ever God still had time in that perfect eternal environment
. We know there will be time in the new earth because Isa 66 says "from one new moon to another" that means every month. So honestly there will never be a point where time doesn't exist. I may be wrong but it seemed to me at least you were referring to the days when we live forever in heaven and it wouldn't seem like there would be a need for time. Will the redeemed from the earth be keeping Sabbath in heaven? Isaiah seemed to believe so. Not just the redeemed but "all flesh" will gather in heaven every month, each sabbath "to worship before...the LORD".
When there is no more sun or moon...will there be a Saturday Sabbath?
Rev 22:5 And
there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.
Rev 7:16 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more;
neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.
Rev 21:23 And
the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
Isa 24:23 Then
the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed, when the LORD of hosts shall reign in mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, and before his ancients gloriously.
I encourage you to read the context of each of these. You'll find they're each describing what the heavenly city will be like living with God. It's beautiful to think about huh?
In the City of God "there shall be no night." None will need or desire repose. There will be no weariness in doing the will of God and offering praise to His name. We shall ever feel the freshness of the morning and shall ever be far from its close. "And they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light." Revelation 22:5. The light of the sun will be superseded by a radiance which is not painfully dazzling, yet which immeasurably surpasses the brightness of our noontide. The glory of God and the Lamb floods the Holy City with unfading light. The redeemed walk in the sunless glory of perpetual day. {GC 676.3}
I can't wait to get there. My greatest joy will be when you and I will be able to sit underneath the beautiful tree of life and eat of the fruit that brings life and vigor to our once sin ridden bodies. It will be a glorious day indeed.
What good is it to observe the first creation's sabbath when we ignore the eternal (2nd Creation) Sabbath...Christ is our rest.
God is a very systematic and methodical God. He has an order to the way he works. I've notice many people jump to the end of the story and make very strong decision before really considering the beginnings of our teachings. Where God lead us in the past. I'm not saying we should only believing the Old Testament and disregard the New but I am saying it won't hurt if we consider a few things of the first creation's Sabbath before we consider the 2nd and final Sabbath. God is reasonable, Isa_1:18 "Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD".
Who created the world?
Eph 3:9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who
created all things by Jesus Christ:
Joh 1:1 In the beginning was the Word,(
Sounds like Gen 1:1 don't it?) and the Word was with God, and
the Word was God.
Joh 1:2 The same was in the beginning with God.

not any thing made that was made.
Who is the Word?

the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of

Note: The Word is Jesus.

Who was it that created? It was Jesus. "by him all things consist." "all things were created by him, and for him" "without him was not any thing made that was made".
So then the one who did this was no less then Jesus.
Gen 2:2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he(
Jesus) rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
Gen 2:3 And God(
Jesus) blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God(
Jesus)created and made.
Note: Jesus was the one who blessed the seventh day. Jesus is the one who sanctified the seventh day, which means to set aside for a holy use. Jesus made the Seventh day Sabbath a special event for his people. It was Jesus who fellowshiped face to face with Adam and Eve that first Sabbath in the garden. The Bible says when God blesses something that blessing is never taken away. 1Ch 17:27 "Now therefore let it please thee to bless the house of thy servant, that it may be before thee for ever: for
thou blessest, O LORD, and
it shall be blessed for ever." If Jesus blessed something I wouldn't want to miss out on what ever blessing He has in store for me. I've never read anywhere else in the Bible where God has blessed or set aside any other day or even every day to be blessed and holy as Jesus did for the Sabbath.
What does it mean for something to be Holy?
Exo 3:3 And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt.
Exo 3:4 And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see,
God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I.
Exo 3:5 And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is
holy ground.
Note: The ground was holy because this was where the very presence of God was. For something to be holy means God is there and God has sanctified or set aside the seventh day to be Holy which means He is especially present to the believer on the Seventh day Sabbath. It truly is a blessing.
Exo 3:14 And God said unto Moses,
I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel,
I AM hath sent me unto you.
Note: The great "I AM" is the God who was leading Moses and instructing him with the nation of Israel. It was the I AM who originally gave the ten commandments to Moses.
Who is I AM?
Joh 8:58 J
esus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you,
Before Abraham was, I am.
Joh 8:59 Then took
they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.
Note: Long before Moses ever was, longer before Abraham ever was, Jesus said "I AM". The Jews knew exactly what this meant because in the very next verse they were about to stone Jesus for blasphemy. Jesus was the I AM who gave Moses the Ten Commandments, including the Seventh Day Sabbath commandment.
What is a sign between Gods people and I AM?
Eze_20:12 Moreover also I gave them
my sabbaths, to be
a sign between me and them, that they might know that
I am the LORD that
sanctify them.
Eze_20:20 And hallow
my sabbaths; and they shall be
a sign between me and you, that ye may know that
I am the LORD your God.
Exo_31:13 Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily
my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is
a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that
I am the LORD
that doth sanctify you
Note: Not only is the Sabbath a sign between us and God that we "may know" He is the I AM in our life and the I AM the one who we serve but the Sabbaths also have a sanctifying influence upon God's people that He uses to make use holy and set us aside for a holy purpose. We learn from John it is only the truth that sanctifies. Joh 17:17 "
Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth." The Sabbath is the truth.
Which day is the Lord's day?
Mar_2:28 Therefore
the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.
Exo_20:10 But
the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
Rev_1:10
I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet,
Isa_58:13 If thou turn away thy foot
from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and
call the sabbath a
delight, the
holy of the LORD,
honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:
Note: Jesus is "the Lord also of the sabbath" because He was the one which created the world, instituted the sabbath before sin, kept the first sabbath with man, and gave the 10 commandments to Moses. Therefore the Lord's day is the Sabbath.
This is why Christ is our rest
Mat 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and
I will give you rest.
Mat 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and
ye shall find rest unto your souls.
Mat 11:30 For
my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Note: Doesn't that sound like a "delight" an "honourable" entreaty? No longer do I have to do my "pleasure", my "labour", my "own ways", my "own pleasure, nor speaking" my "own words" rather my "heavy laden" soul can "find rest", Christ easy yoke, His light burden, while I learn of his lowly, humble, and meet heart I study His word and as I learn of Him I realize Christ is Lord of the Seventh-Day Sabbath. He always has been. The Sabbath He gives us in the new testament is the one He himself kept as His custom was. Luk_4:16 "And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read." Then as I continue to learn of Him and the way He lived I hear Him speak to me saying. Joh 13:15 "For I have given you an example, that
ye should do as I have done to you." Jesus kept the Seventh-Day Sabbath in Creation, and because he made that day holy his presence was with His people every Seventh day throughout history, and even today He wants to bring rest into my soul on His holy day.
What good is it to rest on Saturday when we are flustered Sunday thru Friday?
No good whatsoever. God wants us to be holy 7 days a week. Many people even though they believe the Seventh day is the Sabbath because of their lifestyle majority of the time do not truly keep the Sabbath holy. Only holy people can keep a holy day. God wants to bring our characters into closer connection and relations to His. As we read one of the methods He does sanctify us is by the Sabbath. But if we don't allow His divine grace to influence our hearts 6 days a week. There's no way we could keep the Seventh day holy either.
The Sabbath as the other 10 are a reflection of God's nature ; God rested as it is His nature. He has given us as a temporary gift, a rest one day in six; and as an eternal gift our rest in the finished work of Jesus Christ.
Seeing as though that is not a question but a statement might I ask you a question?
Is the Sabbath referred to in the Bible as something temporary or something perpetual that continues for ever?
Exo 31:16 Wherefore the children of Israel shall
keep the sabbath, to
observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for
a perpetual covenant. Exo 31:17 It is
a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and
on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.
Note: Actions speak louder than words, and by God's one actions he worked on the common day sunday and rested the seventh day and made it holy. Recognizing Jesus lived for 33.5 years before He died then He would have kept over 1700 Sabbaths in His lifetime. Would it not be safe to follow the example of our Savior? Here the Sabbath is describe as perpetual and for ever. We learned in the beginning it will be kept all throughout eternity in heaven. I haven't read somewhere that refers to the seventh day Sabbath as "a temporary gift" before. Maybe I may have overlooked something. If you know of any scriptures I'd be happy to consider them. But as of now I have read anywhere saying the Sabbath was given but for a short time. But I have read the commandments "stant fast for ever and ever" Psa 111:7-8 "The works of his hands are verity and judgment;
all his commandments are sure. They stand fast for ever and ever, and are done in truth and uprightness." And that all His commandments are righteousness. Psa 119:172 "My tongue shall speak of thy word: for
all thy commandments are righteousness." But I find something interesting the Bible says in the same chapter about God's righteousness which are all His commandments including the Seventh Day Sabbath. Psa 119:142 "
Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and thy law is the truth." All His commandments are everlasting commandments. Not only that but His law is the truth. And when you look in the margin for this verse you'll find habitation actually means foundation. Notice what the foundation of God's throne is. Psa 97:2 "Clouds and darkness are round about him:
righteousness and judgment are the habitation of his throne." "All thy commandments are righteousness" you're not trying to overthrow the throne of God are you? Because Heb 1:8 "But unto the Son he saith,
Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of
righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom." A sceptre is the staff that a king holds as the authority over His subjects. Not only is the 10 Commandments the foundation of God's throne but it's the standard by which he rules His kingdom. There talks about another power who is against the keeping of God's law. Rev 12:17 "And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which
keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ." Rev 12:9 tells us this dragon is Satan. 2cor 11:3 & eph 5:25 tells us a women is a symbol of a church. God's church in the end of time will "keep the commandments of God"
Rev 14:12 This is how the saints are described. "Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus." I don't know if these answered your questions. Maybe they did maybe they made more questions come up. It's like waiting for thanksgiving when all the family comes together, you have food prepared to each and enjoy with your family, I spend quality time with God and like minded believer. It's like a holiday but every seventh day of the week which is Saturday or how you say it in Spanish Sabado. Sounds similar
huh? In Russian it's Subotah. In Italian it's Sabato. In over 145 major languages Saturday the seventh day of the week sounds like Sabbath. I'm going to sleep now good night.
