...even though I have recently got some more brindleberry (stops conversion of glucose from carbs storing as fat by about 70%) ; I made the mistake of devouring a Cadbury's Turkish Delight in a couple of mouthfuls... ...good and better 'natural' sugar alternatives are:
Xylitol: found in strawberries and bark of birch trees etc, is actually a sugar alchohol and tastes sweeter than sugar but ultra low glycemic index, and is the TASTIEST and most refreshing sweetener on the market. Its actually healthy for you and good for your teeth. A bit pricey tho, but worth it...
Stevia: a herb or extracted from herb. Not as nice as Xylitol, but OK. As a herb is good to include with tea, very very sweet. As an extract with coffee, but mediocre tasting...
Fructose: a fruit sugar, with low glycemic index but much higher than xylitol and stevia. OK if the other 2 are not available...Much nice than sugar too...
...all the rest commonly available sugar substitutes are toxic to varying degrees...
