If you read Galatians chapter 2 it is clear it is referring to Acts 15. So reading the context it is not saying the law is done away with only we are not saved by keeping the law.
Galatians 3:6-9 KJV
(6) Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.
(7) Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.
(8) And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.
(9) So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.
Notice these texts tell us that Abraham was made righteous by faith and that we are to be made righteous by faith not by works of the law but, it also says this about Abraham.

Faith versus the Law is not complicated.
One can obey "thou shalt not kill" and yet remain hateful within. Thus obeying a listed law does not make one righteousness. It is for this reason that Paul teaches that righteousness is not by the law.
Faith on the other hand WORKS BY LOVE and it is love that fulfills the righteousness of the law. If one truly loves they do not need a listed law stating "thou shalt not kill" for "love works no ill."
This is why Jesus said love is the greatest commandment and that all the law and the prophets is established on love.
So many people err in thinking that "grace" means "unconditional pardon" and thus view that one can be declared righteous by God apart from a "faith that works by love." There is no justification in God's sight apart from a "faith that works by love" for it is via abiding in the Spirit of life in Jesus Christ (walking according to the Spirit having crucified the old man) that we can indeed have the love of God perfected in us whereby we take hold and manifest a genuine faith that works by love.
It is for this reason that love does not rejoice in iniquity but rather deplores all unrighteousness. Those who are truly Christ's will manifest the fruit of the Spirit in their lives and thus be known by their fruit.
We are to have our eyes singly fixates on Jesus Christ and abide in His light whereby we are made alive in Him. It is through this connection with our Creator that our hearts are made clean and thus we being created in Jesus Christ are useful for the Father's work.
I implore people to not be deceived by this debate of "law versus grace" which is presented within a paradigm of "unmerited favour" versus "saving oneself."
The law is only done away within the context of love fulfilling the righteousness of the law, whereby the change is from external governance (law) to internal governance (pure heart). Thus we are dead to the law by the body of Christ in that we serve Him in spirit and in truth.

See, Your so close.. Yet so far.. of course he was talking about the second death.
The point your missing, is we are born DEAD. We are DEAD because of sin. Unless we are MADE ALIVE in Christ by having the penalty of sin removed. we will have no hope;. If we die, and we have not been born again, it is too late. there is no second chance.
This is what being born again means. We, who were dead in tresspasses and sins, have been made alive in Christ. having been forgiven all sin. This life GOD calls ETERNAL LIFE.
When he says we who have been born again will not suffer judgment, He means it, When he says we will not die. he means we will not die again (spiritually) thus not only will we never die spiritually again, but as you say, we will not suffer the second death. Both are refered to. That is what God means when he says no-one (we are someone) can ever snatch us from gods hands. we are secure in HIM, based on HIS promise, Our faith and hope are in this.
If I can not be assured eternal life after God says I have it, I have NO HOPE. and thus can not possibly have any faith.

People love to make the statements about folks that think they can get to heaven without Jesus and by keeping the law. We hear alot of people saying that the law is impossible to keep.
I am over 50. I have never met anybody that claims they keep the law of God because that will earn them heaven. I only hear folks claiming these people exist. I've never met one.
I actually don't believe that any Christian thinks they can earn heaven. I know of nobody that makes that claim. Nobody. Again,, I only hear that these people exist from other believers.
Who here says, we can't keep Gods Commandments? I will be first to tell you that you are wrong.
Do you steal everytime you go to ther store? Do you murder & rape without control? Are you compelled to wake your parents up and cuss them out? Do you constantly desire your neighbors stuff? NO, No , No and No!
If we can't keep the Law and you have children,,,, dont you see that it is only a matter of time before you rape and murder your own children?????
And if you don't rape them,, why would you get a babysitter for your children, knowing full well they can't keep the law and that they will rape your kids????
Folks,, we can keep the Law. We can obey God.
A baby falls when it learns to walk. Who here tells the baby, to "stay down, you will only fall again,,no sense trying to walk."
This is exactly what you are teaching when you claim we can't keep the law.
We go and get married and take vows in front of both men and God. Why take vows, if you believe you can't keep them.
Christians don't make any sense when they make these false claims.

So John is wrong? if you believe this, you do not yet fully understand the law. If you did, you would not make such a claim!
This is a miniscule part of the law. People who claim sinless perfection after a point in their life always refer to these sins, There are SO SO many other things which are sins. The pharisees made the claim of perfection and obeying the law. because they too only concentrated on these overt sins which are known and popular. In doing so they could not see the sin they commit, And so called christians who do this also can not see the sin they still continue on a daily basis.. Paul did not think he made it, why do you think you can, or have?
ok. This makes no sense at all. can you please explain? Why would the inability to keep the law mean one will rape someone? rape is only one aspect of the law. We can never rape anyone or commit any sexual sin until the day we die, and we have still broken the law in some fashion with other sins.
No one is teaching you can't keep the law and be righteous. They teach
1. Of our own power (the flesh) we can't keep it
2. We will never achieve sinless perfection while on this earth
3. We will have the need to continue to grow, to continue to as paul says "run the race" until the day we die
4. if we think we already made it, we are in dire straights, and in serious danger!
Instead of slamming people. try to understand what they are trying to say. Nothing you said (to be honest) makes any sense.. No one I know claims what you say they claim..
here is the point. If I only commit 1 sin on any given day (I am being lighthearted here, I do not think even this is possible) I have failed to keep the law on that day. When I go to bed that night, I am worthy of eternal condemnation for my actions on that day because I failed to keep the law.
This is why we need grace!
Then do it in full, every jot and tittle of it, just like Jesus did. Do so or else admit you are sinner, in need of God's forgiveness. End of story.
Your on deaf ears again but ever so refreshing to hear it. Even a baby in Christ knows this from day one. But some are very learned and have impressive educations and cvs and still won't get this.
I implore you to repent of teaching another gospel that leads people away from Christ. People save themselves through faith in GOD's grace (unmerited love).

it is because they do not understand completely what is sin.. They commit sins they do not understand are sins, or have hardened their hearts to the fact they are sins because they do not commit the really "big" sins we all like to think of..

Hagar is symbolic of the old covenant righteousness by works of the law.

For these are the two covenants: the one from Mount Sinai which gives birth to bondage, which is Hagar— for this Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia, and corresponds to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children—
Those who keep looking law ward often distort the gospel by arguing that grace enables them to keep the law.

For certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into lewdness and deny the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ.

All men are saved by grace. Adam is saved by grace. Moses is saved by grace. Job saved by Grace.. and on and on.
We can keep the law. I just laid it out for you that we can. You have been lied to for so long, that you now beleive you must sin.. Kinda like your dad telling you for years you are worthless,, finally, you have come to believe it's true.
Jesus said "go and sin no more." Did Jesus lie and give a task He knows cannot be done?
The Thread to this post tells of a group that looks to keeping the law without the sacrifice of Jesus of aquiring heaven.
Who are these Christians that are keeping the law as a mens to acquire heaven? I know of NONE!
But I KNOW sin is a choice. And you obviously believe sin is a must.
And because you think that way.. Stay away from children,, Cause under your theory, you are bound to rape them.
So they justify themselves in their pride. Not yet being convicted of what sin is. Still establishing their own righteousness and refusing the gospel of peace. Terrible.

Personally, I'd be more concerned about leaving my children with anybody that claims that they themselves never sin. Because anybody foolish enough to make such a claim greatly lacks in understanding the destitute nature of their own flesh. Regarding your statement above : The cheap shot and demeaning nature of this statement is something that I would consider sinful ... on your behalf.
My friend, you are missing the point of writing the Law in our hearts...
Mat 5:21 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:
Mat 5:22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
Mat 5:23 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;
Mat 5:24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
Mat 5:25 Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.
Mat 5:26 Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing.
Hating someone, even disdaining someone, counting them inferior to you is tantamount to breaking the sixth Commandment.
I see this used a lot but it disagrees with what Paul says...
Rom 7:7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.
Paul says that he would not know sin except it were defined by the Law.
The Law saves no one. It defines right and wrong. A long time ago, our parents had to make a choice, would they accept that only God can determine right and wrong or would they try to determine it for themselves. To rob a phrase from The Last Crusade, they chose poorly...
Gen 3:5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
Gen 3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

So the Law defines sin for us. God sets before us a choice...

The Law directs our steps in the good and right way to live...
Psa 19:7 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.

Psa 19:9 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.

This is where grace comes in, Christ forgives our sin through grace. Grace is the unearned, unmerited pardon for sins committed. David understood this...

Heb 10:1 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.
