Let me start off by saying, that I am a very good friend of someone who is the mom to a little boy, who loves do to ballet, he loves to play barbie, he loves to put pink bows in his hair. This little boy was sexually abused so badly when he was a bady and was used as a sex toy by many many men.

As young as what he is, has he made a choice to be this way? Whas it originally in his DNA designed by God who makes no mistakes? Does our past determine our ability to make decision in the future or how those decisions are formulated on our past experiences?

When a man who goes out abusing women because his mom abused him as a child, does this mean he was born this way? Created by God who makes no mistakes? Or did his past experiences determine his future ability to make rationa, moral,l decisions?

I by no means of the imagination believe that if someone is gay they are any less of a person that I am, I do not believe that the Lord God loves me more or less that ANYONE else. Of course I am sure that there will be someone who will think that I am comparing an abusive man's past into the same category as a gay man's past, and how is this the same thing, as people do not CHOOSE to be gay. I think people do not CHOOSE to be abusers either.

I do believe that being gay or an abuser is NEVER a choice, I do however think that our past has some impact on our ability to make decision in the future, and sometimes our past is so deep rooted we do not even know it is there.

I too am the mom to a girl who thinks she might like girls, then thought she might like boys and girls, do I love my little girl, absolutely, do I totally accept her for who she is DEFINITLEY, was her decisions formulated on an abusive past YES, did we sit an explore why she has these formulated opinions about herself, we did.

I truly hope and pray that my heart reflects in this post.

People make assumptions. Some have assumed that the op is a gay hater just trying to stir up trouble. If you read his posts, you'll find that's not what it's trying to do. Some think when we discussed the issue of homosexuality, is because we are gay haters, that we hate them more than any other sin. That cannot be farther from the truth. Nobody in here has said a hateful word against gays. We don't hate gays.......... we hate the sin of homosexuality. No matter how many colors you paint it, it is what it is....... sin. I'm sure many of you know stories of people who have suffered because of it. I know people who have suffered from all types of sins........... it is the result of sin, you know. Those that feel sorry for gays need to make sure they feel sorry for all sinners. Those that hate the sin of homosexuality need to make sure they hate all sin. If not, that makes us a respecter of persons and that means we have sinned. Let's meet in the middle, okay?

Here is my view on the gays, I do not encourage it but i am not going to see them any less than myself. I will slowly and lovingly encourage them to change their ways, I will NOT judge them or condemn them.
you will?
what good will that do?

they must be born again.
unsaved people must be confronted with the Law and all it's TERRORS.

the Holy Spirit is in the world convicting men of sin and unbelief.
let HIM do HIS job.

then they must be presented with the remedy to God's wrath which is already abiding on them:

THE GOSPEL.

again, let the Word speak.

if it is directly from the God-breathed Scriptures, it has the power to save and change.
if it is coming from us without the Word, it might change lives, but CAN NOT SAVE.

I wonder why that there isn't many discussion about Liars? Is it because we all speak it fluently as if it is a part of native tongue? It is written that they'll be also going to hell? We don't have to disrespect someone else sin that we don't have in our own bags sins that we carry on our backs.

John 8:44You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

1 John 1:10
If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us.

Luke 6:37
“Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.

This verse is saying that if we believe in Jesus ( believing is doing what He ask us to do ) we will be save; but how can someone become save while shutting the door in their faces so that they can't hear the word; and then they've turn away because we have condemn them ( by using offensive words) before they has a chance to sit inside to listen.

John 3:18
Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.

Matthew 23:13
“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the door of the kingdom of heaven in
people’s faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to.

1 Corinthians 3:2
I gave you milk, not solid food, for you were not yet ready for it. Indeed, you are still not ready.

Matthew 18:35
“This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother or sister from your heart.”

Romans 14:10
You, then, why do you judge your brother or sister? Or why do you treat them with contempt? For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat.

hi stephen.
is it fair to say that even more than hating sin (which we all still commit from time time), that we fear for the homosexual or thief or perfectly wonderfully law-abiding granny on Main Street who will face the Lord without having been justified by Grace through faith in Christ?

we know what the Bible says all unsaved people will face - we fear for them. we love them.
i can not think of a single person i desire to face Judgment and be sent away to hell (with the exception of the dog on Family Guy)

The reason most people commit suicide is either because the have a chemical imbalance, or they're demon possessed.
That person needs help. Christians can't help someone if they can't tell them what the problem is. I agree that people don't have the right to bash and slam someone around. Sinners have to genuinely repent to get deliverance. Otherwise, there is none.
Not always the case. Sometimes things can be so bad that it can seem like the only way out. Would you tell someone in Job's situation that it's a CHEMICAL imbalance? And it's not always a demon either.

After some things that I have witnessed this week that has affected me, close friends, and my church congregation I am going to say that ALOT of the homosexual "issue" is the media.

Many in the media will take stories from people who are homosexual. Exploit it, make it look like their victims, and then throw in comments about bigots, ignorant Christians and hate. The fact is many of us Christians that do not approve of homosexuality are not bigots, haters, ignorant and so on. We interact with gay people, friends with them, related to them, and deal with them on a daily basis. We may not approve of their ways, but that by no means indicates we hate them or wish ill on them.
I mentioned that I witnessed something this week, and I have. My whole town did. On one of those Talent/singing reality shows there was a kid from my town that on the show this past week. He has a beautiful voice, and could easily reach fame by his talent. Yet, when this kid walked on stage he announced to the the entire nation that his parents kicked out him of his house on his 18th birthday for being gay. He tears up, and everyone feels sorry for him. This kid did sing well, and will advance on, but I can't help but wonder if it was because of his talent or because he was a "victim" of hate. News headlines are all over the internet about how this guy was kicked out of his home on his birthday, and disowned by his family. People are now calling his parents bigots, ignorant, shameful..etc.
Guess what. I know his parents. I know him. I attend the same congregation he once did. His parents NEVER kicked him out, but he walked out. His own brother denied the accusations, and his family is heartbroken. This guy(his name is Jonathan) got on national television, and slandered the people who raised him.
Has his family been interviewed or asked about the situation? No. Are people judging total strangers and looking down on these "ignorant bigot Christians" because of a lie? YES.

This is why I blame the media for ALOT of what is going on.

BTW, please pray for this situation. This could become worse, and I fear for those involved.
But it sure does not help when one is subjected to the likes of the Westboro Baptists churches of the world. If we leave out the compassion that Jesus has for the thief on the cross, the Samaritan woman who was shacking up with a guy who was not her husband, that is the other side. God is NOT willing that any man should perish, but it sure is a whole lot easier blasting someone else when it's NOT my sin. Never mind the fact that except for the fact that He made us born again we would ALL be in the very same boat. See our comparison is NOT to each other BUT how do we line up next to Jesus? It is always so much easier if one has never had to deal with these things to crush another person.

Very complex problem. It is a loss of all hope. It is desperation and sadness. Those who do not know Christ have almost no chance to prevail. Those who know Christ must trust Him, trust His word and hold onto the hope He and only He can give. 1 Cor 10:12-13

Honestly, I couldn't care less what 2 consenting adults do behind closed doors. I know the Bible says it's wrong, but that's between them and God.
I care, in a way, as I want them to have the peace I have. But as far as them being the reason our moral fabric is destroyed, Paul gave a list of bad things, and it was:

Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality,20idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions,21envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

What I'm trying to say is, you can't pick out one of those things and say "There! THAT'S what's destroying the moral fabric!" The morals of the world will never be much to write home about. The Bible tells US we should resist sin to the point of blood!

That liberal minded person does ruins, because of their way of thinking causes all them Liars to lie so freely and they believe that they can escape the fires of hell, and which I believe that they shouldn't have mercy but have a millstone tied around their neck and tossed in the deepest part of the lake of fire. Does anyone has a Liar in their family? Dam!!, if God wasn't so liberal minded; Him and His mercy.

Jonah 4
9 But God said to Jonah, “Is it right for you to be angry about the plant?”
“It is,” he said. “And I’m so angry I wish I were dead.”
10 But the Lord said, “You have been concerned about this plant, though you did not tend it or make it grow. It sprang up overnight and died overnight. 11 And should I not have concern for the great city of Nineveh, in which there are more than a hundred and twenty thousand people who cannot tell their right hand from their left—and also many animals?”

Firstly I think that it is sinful to group people. Most homosexuals? Most in the homosexual community? Really? Do you know most of them? No. this is not a godly thing to do is it? I do not know most homosexuals. I know some. I pray for and often with them. I care about their salvation. I pray for their salvation. I also pray that God lead me to love them the same way He loves me. I think, if God can accept me as I am, sinful, pitiful wretched poor blind and naked, the worst of sinners, certainly he can accept them. I have received grace mercy and forgiveness from God. I refuse to be ungracious. I refuse to be unmerciful or unforgiving. I think certainly if I do not practice mercy, God's mercy will be removed from me...a parable explains this to me.

Just having the desire is sinful. This doesn't mean we should practice it just because it is sin to think of it and sin to do it. We would all do very well if we would recognize that we are evil. "if you then though you are evil..." Are we living a life of love?

God be praised forever and ever. Rejoice in the lord.

Firstly, let me say that it is beyond ludicrous to attempt to be sanctimonious about labeling those who committ homosexual acts as sinners. Secondly I guess I have to take time to tear down the straw men you like to build. OBVIOUSLY there are some homosexuals who struggle with this sin and truly desire to confess and repent. These people aren't even slightly who I was referring to. You are either unable to understand the point I was making regarding the prevailing belief of the media, the schools, the gov.,society in general, AND the MAJORITY of the homosexual community, that this activity is merely a lifestyle choice and NOT sin, or you are as an earlier poster said, much holier than everyone else. May the Lord bless you and yours.
