Yes, considering this is the "Singles" forum.

I'm hoping you were just kidding...

I'm thinking that for me, it might help if I start embedding blazing neon signs at the end of my posts with glitter and bright lights flashing, "Please laugh now, that was a joke."

The Brain Twins Strike Again!! I was thinking this exactly, Musical. Though... *sighs* why is it that I still don't think it would help in a lot of cases...

I mean, surely humor is a tool of the devil to knock us off our shiny, halo-brightened paths to heaven... *cue heavenly music track*

No way! Genesis 21:6--"God has brought me laughter."

I do realize there are times and places for things but... thank goodness there are some other singles in the Singles Forum who still consider the possibility of dating as something worth talking about... (ant not some horrible, evil sin against God.) I mean, single people who want to talk about dating (without turning the forum into a dating site?) Preposterous! Ridiculous! Downright CRAZY!

Sure am glad I'm not one of the sane people. ;)

That's a good idea! Or maybe a disclaimer at the end..."For the humor challenged, you can laugh now."

I was thinking the same thing about dating. The whole marriage thing, kind of a big deal, so thus discussing you know, dating and finding said spouse, also kind of a big deal. Don't talk about it online, or, gasp, meet someone online, that's way too 21st century.

I agree, being sane is so last season!

I love that verse (Genesis 21:6). I'm a firm believer that God has not only a sense of humor, but the best sense of humor :)

*laughs out loud*

I love y'all!!

Alas... despite all our good intentions... a few always slip past.

(Please forgive all the typos in my posts--I can't type 620 words a minute with my big, middle, and smallest toes like Musical...)

Maybe we need to start a new forum called "Singles Who Never Talk About Being Single or Finding Someone But Yes, It's The Singles Forum."

Yeah! We could talk about which Bible verses we're needlepointing on pillows for our hope chests (*laugh-track laughter*)

I like that. We'd have to substitute single for something else since single is a dirty word!!! How about pringle? Who doesn't like pringles?

Seriously though, to anyone reading this (I can speak for Seoul here too because we are brain twins) - we're not trying to offend anyone. We aren't trying to make this a dating site, and we certainly don't mean to appear to be downplaying the importance of God in our lives.

But sometimes it's just nice to fellowship with Christian friends and be a little silly. Life is serious enough without adding more to it.

Nope, I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I'm pretty sure talking about our "Pringle-ness" would be offensive to some large group of people out there as well.

Unless, of course, we can somehow fit it into the verses we're all needlepointing on our pillows... (I think I need a bigger pillow!)

hi, i'm new to this but i would like to give my opinion if that's ok. I have a mother who tries to control my brothers and myself. She is constantly in our business. My ex sister-n-law shows no remorse towards her. my other sister-n-law tries to avoid her. I personally think if you really love someone you wouldn't let family get into your personal space of your relationship, you would stand up to the person who is trying to be controlling and let them know how you feel. Sometimes standing your ground doesn't work. As for my mom, when I stand my ground, she runs to my brothers, in which, at first they always take her side until she does the same things to them. It's easier to be with someone who you can get along with their family and them get along with yours but that's not always probable. Just remember if you truely love someone, that problem can be resolved, by standing your ground and them standing there's. And if you do marry them, don't live by either of your parents.

Thanks for getting us back on topic, Kooky! Hope you can stand up to your mom when you need to, and whoever you end up with can get along with her as well!

I couldn't have said this any better myself, Musical. (And yes, I do let her speak for me ;).)

We're all here to make Christian friends... and part of the joy of friendship is being able to relax and clown around with each other.
