Putting a human emotion to a metaphysical being? Gasp

Maybe if he showed himself for once, we might actually believe he's there. You know, how sane people think
John 20:25The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe
John 20:27Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.
2 Corinthians 5:16Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.

John 20:29Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.

Acts 13:31And he was seen many days of them which came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses unto the people.
Romans 1:9For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers;

You are in my prayers, God just love you

oh yeah, experience, from 12 on, 56 now. And it has not been an easy road, either. I want I have a blogger www.godjustloveyou.blogspot.com . There are around 370 blogs there, some on my personal experiences, and there is one long one titled god just love you. Another titled emotions, just a lot, you decide to check it out and like keep on if not move on, no matter what your free choice and I only hope to help, and not condemn, since I know God does not, as has been posted, God is full of Mercy, and all I have done ever since is figure this out, without ever deserving Mercy.

I will try to do what you ask here. Definition of
Information based on facts that can be proved through analysis, measurement, observation, and other such means of research.

My brother, at the age of 33 years old, found dead on Campus crusade for Christ, two miles above the Sanctuary leaned against a boulder with a Bible in his hand. Found by Hikers.
It has been put on his death certificate, cause of death unknown. This was back in 1978. I was 21 and I from this point on and have been convinced of Christ.
No physical cause, written on his death certificate using the excuse that he had been dead too long and that all they could find was that he died on Thursday night, and found on Sunday by the hikers, had been dead for three days when found.
My Brother worked for Campus Crusade for Christ, and by what happened no physical cause of death has convinced me, beyond a shadow of any doubt.
On this is on record. John Henry Schultz the third out of Sacramento, Ca. where we all were born and raised, 5 of us siblings.

Documented proof other than that is History, outside of the Bible has documentation of Christ being here and doing the miracles he did
Also the time line, that was changed to common era, was before the cross and after the cross. B.C. and A.D. The world knows as you do too down deep in your soul, the world divided time, knowing Christ is coming back, but not as a Lamb.
Why would or did the world that claims unbelief, and in many cases belief, just not in sincerity and many today act as if, and destroy people from seeing the amazing Mercy God has poured out onto all flesh, through stress and worry about whether the creator of all this universe loves them or not. Experience has crowded out God's amazing love, Bad ones of others doing others wrong, and have claimed belief, when it is obvious they never did to begin with, to use others as they will.
Then the devil through the thought emotional warfare convinces people that God is not real, when one has heard that God is Loving, and one bites the supposed love fruit and gets a mouthful of wax, and is disgusted.

I say yes and one should be disgusted, over those people not God, for They slanderously used the name of God for their own gain, and when this happens to one then like a domino effect it goes onto the next one.

Something created all this you and I see before us right? And this called God right? And you have chosen not to believe without tangible evidence right? Well this is between God and you for the tangible evidence, now accordingly to your actual motive what that might be, The creator of all this knows what that is, and will either show you or will not. So if your motive is
"Comfort God by letting God know that you would see God just to dwell in God's Presence. Not for teaching, not for material gain, not even for a message, but for God. The longing of the human heart to be loved for itself is something caught from the Great Divine Heart."

Then God, the creator of all will show you, and you will know, and it will not have to be tangible.
But look at this history, St. Patrick spoke to them in Ireland and they chose not to believe and St. Patrick, said let there be no snakes, and I think still to this day there no snakes in Ireland, that place there where he preached truth to them. that God just love them, as God does the whole world and is just waiting for us to respond to God in thanking God, not creating God by their own works as many have and do to this very day.
Bottom line:
Believe, see, receive
I don't know how but I do know you will know, when; I don't know, but you will

Here is a n example forgive me if it's a bad example. Let's say there is a crime scene ok, they arrest the suspect he goes to court, they bring forth witnesses and such ........The witnesses either testify against or for the suspect....lol I'm not implying God is a suspect but just an example again I apologize just not sure how else to explain...... The bible is an account of witnesses testifying for God. Over 40 authors over a time period of 1600 yrs. I'm sorry to me thats impressive. But of course this is probably nothing new to you. What if I told you God healed me from a very serious disease, I had no treatment and all I did was ask God to heal me would you believe me because I am testifying that God did so. The winesses of the bible are the same. I believe them................... Now please don't go throwing philisophical crap my way ok. I don't really know much about it nor do I want to indulge in anything that would make me take my focus off my Lord and Saviour Christ Jesus. And Jesus found me I didn't find Him. Praise be to God for that my friend. I hope he finds you too.

If you didn't ask god to heal you, you still would have been recovering. This is not conclusive to the slightest.

Im not throwing any philosophical crap, more like proof 101. Eye witness accounts, no matter how many, is the lowest form of evidence there is. If it really was evidence, then way more then 40 authors would write about this. It's an extremely small population if u think about it.

All i have asked for is objective proof for god, so far you guys have been dancing around that with the bible. The bible is purely subjective an faulty. This is not philosophical, it's basic logic

You still have not answered my question.

1 case of someone dying near the campus crusade is nothing. How can this possibly show christ? If i die near the statue of the flying spaghetti monster, does that show the flying spaghetti monster.

It's not my job to go ask a being i don't even believe in for proof and lift the weight off you. If you don't have one bit of objective proof, just tell me now. If you do, stop dancing around claims and cases and post it.

I'm not trying to be rude here but nobody can present this proof, yet their 100% sure they're right

Thats a summary of pretty much all religions, and supernatural phenomenon. Does that make Greek mythology valid?

Do you atheist come on here for a reason? Do you feel you are going to enlighten christians in a way that they will denounce God and join your cause or what? Why do you atheists have such a problem with one's faith in God? Why does it annoy you to the point that you MUST come here to debate it? So what if I believe in God? God healed me and I have incredible faith in that. He saved me, saved me from myself when no one else would or could. I will never reject God based upon what you think to be logical. I'm sorry you don't believe in Him. I do, and why my friend WHY does that bother the unbeliever that christians do? GRRRRRRR! you guys sure do know how to push a button. LOL but it's ok I forgive you and I'm still smiling.

I was a Christian when I joined the site, and returned a few months ago when I became an agnostic atheist to express the qualms I had when I was a Christian to others, and attempt to illustrate my point of view. I want people to "denounce" Yahweh as much as I want people to denounce Thor, Thoth, or Zorostra. (In that I don't care or want people to). And by all means I didn't just come here to debate people, on this thread I try to commentate on what people say, is that fair enough? Supernatural belief can provide people with community or even something happy to think about that transcends this world, but just because something is nice and convenient doesn't make it true.

I don't think being a follower of Jesus is all rainbows and butterflies. I'm not perfect. I sin I repent of it and struggle with it but God strengthens me to over come. I wasn't raised religious. My family was far from that. As you are appalled by my belief I too am appalled at your belief my friend. Sorry I'm so scattered with my thoughts, it's kinda late for me. Oh boy I dare to ask what failed prophecy are you referring to? And you answered my question with another question. Do I sense avoidance my friend?

I understand what a Christian feels, by all means, I was raised in a religious household, I studied religion (at least the Christian one), read the bible from front to back, and prayed regularly. I'm not appalled by your religion, its typical, this is the U.S after all. I don't see being Christian as evil or something, whereas your view of me may not be the same. It is a state of mind, and yes there are redeemable qualities in Christianity, mercy, charity, compassion, love, forgiveness. All wonderful, yet not exclusive to the Judeo-Christian culture. Not even the theist culture. What prophecy am I referring to? Don't you mean which prophecies.

Avoidance, interesting, prophesies are one of the most flexible aspects of religion, you can contort them to nearly any meaning you wish. In other cases, such as the prophecy that Israel would return, is that so much a prophecy than an order a large body of jews will strive to achieve? Compare it to me going to a restaurant and ordering something, is that a prophecy?

A fine example of "flexibility", although not by Christians, was one of the Greek oracles of Delphi predicting that "One day an infant will arise and an era of prosperity will follow". At the time the Macedonians said this to be Alexander the Great, later the Romans, Julius Caesar, later the Christians Jesus, and plenty of modern "fulfillments" could be made.

So which fulfilled prophecy are you referring to?
And may I humbly enquire if you have read the bible in full?
Do not mistake my criticisms for animosity towards you or any other Christian.

The difference is ours is not a belief, it's disbelief. Atheism is sort of the default position to the question of a god. Theists assert the claim, atheists don't believe the claim.

By the way these prophecies are unverified and purely spectical so i highly doubt you should put them in play.

And your last point was unneccisary. He was basically saying your question i irrellevent to the fact that there are failed prophecies and what you think about true (unverified) and false prophecies. He's not avoiding anything, it's just irrellevent.

How do the prophecies concerning Jesus's birth have anything to do with Alexander or Ceasar? I have read the Bible, I will admit a lot is hard to understand so I seek more answers pertaining to what it is that I'm having a hard time with. I'm not a scholar but I have a love for the Lord and I feel it will lead me to truth. Have you read it? Why did you turn from God? If you don't mind sharing.:)

Faith (belief) is the evidence of things not seen, Just as you do not see the air that you breath, and yet by Faith you live. And that was tangible proof to me that I never asked for, talking about my brother in what happened to him, besides all the other things that have happened as well. And it is quite okay that you are in denial, I say that because of free Choice, I thank God for my free choice and out of consideration I shall not take another's free choice away. I am no better than anyone else, whether they believe or do not believe, even if they say they do and do not.
And thank you for your Honesty, much appreciated, and God just love you friend
