Ok jinx, in fact you confessed from your own mouth " your TWISTING the word to fit your own means... shame shame double shame. "
Yes, that's you who are twisting the word to fit your own means ! The shame is on you ! Not me ! because the Lord never told it's ok for women to not wear a veil ! You misunderstood the Scriptures as many already did : " And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. " 2 Peter 3:15-16 (KJV )

This not me you are attacking jinx ! This is the Lord's Word because you reject this : For if a woman does not cover her head, she might as well have her hair cut off; but if it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut off or her head shaved, then she should cover her head."

Think about it ! Weren't the own adoptive mother of Jesus wearing a veil in that time ? If you think Paul told women are allowed to not wear a veil, then you have to assume Paul told the above for nothing ! Why do you never mention the above as you do with the other quote btw ?

You also have to assume not only Paul but all the other disciples were ok about women not wearing a veil like all the prostitutes did at that time !

your wrong "brother", I did read the rest of that passage,

1 Corinthians 11:2-16
[SUP]2 [/SUP]I praise you for remembering me in everything and for holding to the traditions just as I passed them on to you. [SUP]3 [/SUP]But I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man,[SUP][a][/SUP] and the head of Christ is God. [SUP]4 [/SUP]Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head. [SUP]5 [/SUP]But every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head—it is the same as having her head shaved. [SUP]6 [/SUP]For if a woman does not cover her head, she might as well have her hair cut off; but if it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut off or her head shaved, then she should cover her head.

[SUP]7 [/SUP]A man ought not to cover his head,[SUP][b][/SUP] since he is the image and glory of God; but woman is the glory of man. [SUP]8 [/SUP]For man did not come from woman, but woman from man; [SUP]9 [/SUP]neither was man created for woman, but woman for man. [SUP]10 [/SUP]It is for this reason that a woman ought to have authority over her own[SUP][c][/SUP]head, because of the angels. [SUP]11 [/SUP]Nevertheless, in the Lord woman is not independent of man, nor is man independent of woman. [SUP]12 [/SUP]For as woman came from man, so also man is born of woman. But everything comes from God.

[SUP]13 [/SUP]Judge for yourselves: Is it proper for a woman to pray to God with her head uncovered? [SUP]14 [/SUP]Does not the very nature of things teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a disgrace to him, [SUP]15 [/SUP]but that if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For long hair is given to her as a covering. [SUP]16[/SUP]If anyone wants to be contentious about this, we have no other practice—nor do the churches of God.

it says it in black and white, her hair is given for a covering, your TWISTING the word to fit your own means... shame shame double shame. Don't forget verse 16 :)

1Co 11:13 Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered?
1Co 11:14 Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?
1Co 11:15 But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering.

The covering is hair, the subject is hair.

Read it again ! Paul told if a woman does not cover her hair, she might as well have her hair cut off ! That clearly means the cover is not the hair, it's a veil ! If you think Paul told women to not wear a veil, you also have to assume not only Paul but all the disciples were ok about women not wearing a veil just like all the prostitutes did at that time !
And you also have to assume Paul told that for nothing : " or if a woman does not cover her head, she might as well have her hair cut off; but if it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut off or her head shaved, then she should cover her head."

So you just write " You have issues. " with ZERO ARGUMENT ! In addition you pretend you know my thoughts ! You pretend you know I think you're the devil's spawn ! It's written nowhere in my comments and I never thought you're the devil's spawn ! Incredible ! Talking about me having issues ! LOL ;)

Whatever Tintin, be assured I never thought you're "the devil's spawn" ! I believe you're a child of God who is just temporary mislead by the true devil's spawns who temporary rule this fallen world ! Soon or later the Lord will totally free us from all their demonic lies and deception ! The sooner the better ! :)

You have issues. I'm done here. Think I'm the devil's spawn, whatever, dude. I'm a child of God and I stand in the confidence of Christ's righteous sacrifice.

Did I use the term " stupid " ? This is what you wrote :" That's not trying to circumnavigate God's Word to avoid doing his Will, that's called using your brain..."
What would you have understood if someone wrote that to you ? Is it not implying here that you're not " using your brain "?
I use my brain and that's why many mislead sheep of the Lord often attack me.
Do you think it was different in ancient times ? People who use their brain are always attacked by the majority !
Ask Jesus and all His prophets and disciples ! Ask Galileo and many ancient scientific pioneers !

Are you really using your brain Tintin ? You are just defending what the vast majority believe, no need to put much effort in this, even the feminists and mundane people would applaud what you told about the woman's head covering.

I'd just like to add, I wasn't calling you stupid, that comment was a generalisation about non-thinking Christians (and there are plenty of them).

You need to pipe down.
All I read from your posts is hostility. Whether you're correct on the passage or not you're highly rude and argumentative.
How is your attitude Godly?

cant twist what already is in black and white, try again.

is it me or does dragonslayer totally not read the verse where it says the hair was given for a covering?

nope, not me.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Elizabeth619 again.

P.S. I never said that a woman can't use a vail. I said that the hair was given to her for a covering. and that we shouldn't cut our hair. slow down and read what is being posted before you go all A-bomb on people.

I think many here has lost the actual meaning if this passage. If some actually stopped and took time to read and let the meaning sink in then they'd realize the subject isn't a veil but its about submission to God and a woman's husband.

Back then pagan women would shave their head. A covering showed submission. Yes, long hair is a covering. It's submission to her husband and to God.

The fact that scarves and such are more of a fashion accessory these days than a sign of submission also tells me this passage was meant for the Corinthian women due to possible disruption in the church at that time.

There is also the fact that God doesn't judge our outward appearance. To center this passage around just the physical aspect shows me that some here have little understanding on what Paul really was saying. Paul was an apostle. Not the fashion police.

agree's with all stuff that is in bold......

I believe it is for us today, I also believe that amish women and mennonite women who use vials are sincere about it as the covering, for whatever reasons.

I believe that the bible is universal, that what was good for them back then is good enough for us and that is the way it should be.

There's certainly nothing wrong with wearing a veil. I don't see anything wrong with it all all. Amish women do wear one as a form of submission. I live around an old order Amish community and I have high respect for them.
Im just saying that outward appearance isn't what God judges.

I also don't see why dragonslayer keeps attacking you. You two basically agree but he no see dat.
????????

We can also understand that just because were told
"God See's the heart"
doesnt mean he dismisses how we present ourselves on the outside as his temple as well

God sees the heart means just that.
He is the only one who has the ability to... so we should allow the renewing of him changing that heart
A statement meaning, he is the one that no matter how we act or what we say he actually knows what we're really thinking and our motives.
Yet we shouldn't use that as any justification for anything of our own accord since even the best intentions can be incorrect if they are in line with our own will instead of Gods will.

Gods sees the heart for he searches for any wickedness therein, so he may correct us of that.
This doesnt necessarily apply to mean he judges STRICTLY on the heart.
For instance judging only the heart while having no regard for modesty.

When we read the account in 1 Samuel 16 where the Lord says"
“Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart."
Eliab
was apparently tall and had fair features, but not the proper heart to be king of Israel.
This instance is saying that just because someone looks the part doesn't mean he was chosen as the Lords anointed.

Our works and actions play a part not separately but together as well as our heart within submission and obedience.

I agree with you here. Physical appearance should always be modest. Not flashy and not in ways to get attention.
At the same time a modest woman doesn't mean she has a good heart but a flashy woman certainly doesn't present a humble heart. I mean I've never really heard of a stripper glorifying God while demeaning herself.

Amen Elizabeth, when it says do all things for the glory of God doesnt mean to suggest that we can sin so that grace may abound
Thats why I stopped strippin for money and just do it for free.
Oh wait that would be wrong too wouldn't it because it could cause other people to lust.
Yep, you're right, in all things we do we must consider if we have the Lords motives and best interest at heart
and not our own

CHRISTIAN WOMEN&CHASTITY
Jesus said:
matew 5:27,28
27 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit
adultery.’ 28 But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman
with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his
heart
Paul said:
Romans 13:14
14 Instead, put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision
for the flesh to arouse its desires.
From these verses we realized that the women who use their flesh
bodies naked or in a manner sexually attracting other males(exept
qualified husband)
And the males who liked to see her lustfully both are sinning
adultery
But the root cause of this sin is starting from women's lustful
body exposure
so christian women should maintain their flesh body&it's
activities in a manner to avoid this aspect
1.Christian women should avoid all ornaments&decorations and dress
maximum covering their body
1.thimothy 2:9:-
Likewise, that the women dress themselves becomingly, with decency
and sensibleness, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or costly
garments
2.We know the head haire of women is a beauty&glory to them
1.korinthians 11:15:-
15 but if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For her hair is
to her for a covering
so women should cover their beauty&glorious head haire to avoid
exposing to other males
3.In God's creation women are in the next low level status of males
1.korinthians 11:8,9
For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man. 9 Neither
was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man
1.thimothy 2:13,14
For Adam was formed first, then Eve; 14 and Adam was not deceived,
but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor.
1.korinthians 11:3
But I want you to understand that the head of every man is Christ,
the head of a wife is her husband, and the head of Christ is God
Christian women should belive this fact and cover her head glory to
honour the superior males
4.Angels of God always serving around God's people not only in the
worship times,by seeing the submissive&humble manner of christian
women by covering her head glory to honour males, they(Angels) will
also be bold in submission to God
1.korinthians 11:10:-
This is why a woman should have authority over her own head: because
of the angels.
5.This head covering practices are present in all part of world from
the beginng of human history
Genesis 24:65:-
and said to the servant, “Who is that man, walking in the field to
meet us?” The servant said, “It is my master.” So she took her veil
and covered herself
Isayaah 3:19:-
pendants, bracelets, veils(used by jerusalem women).
6.king solomon praised head cover veiled women
song of solomon 4:1,3:-
Behold, you are beautiful, my love, behold, you are beautiful!
Your eyes are doves behind your veil.
Your lips are like a scarlet thread, and your mouth is lovely.
Your cheeks are like halves of a pomegranate
behind your veil.
7.In old testement days if a husband dobuts about her wif's
chastity, then her head cover should be removed by priest because it
is the symbol of chastity now in dobut
numbers 5:18:-
“The priest is to have the woman stand in the Lord’s presence,
uncover her head, and put the grain offering as a memorial, a
reminder of jealousy, into her hands. The priest is also to have in
his hand the contaminated water that carries a curse.
from middle east to India&around the Globe muslims&other religeous
people using head covering system till today, christians till
ninteenth century&now in some groups around the Globe using head
cover in public
But the corrupt human groups world wide using Jesus name to attain
heaven in a shortcut way, reject all these wiseful practices and twist
bibile teachings to match as their harlotic life styles.
Because the satanic harlotic power is driving these people,
that's why these people
1.Dont cover their flesh body fully, their women appeared naked or
sexy than men
2.their women stand in front of adult males&expose their body&do many
funny activities including preaching, singing, dancing against Bibile
to catch more people in their nets
1.thimothy 2:12:-
I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a
man; rather, she is to remain quiet
1.korinthians 14:34:-
the women should keep silent in the churches. For they are not
permitted to speak, but should be in submission, as the Law also says
Revelation 2:20:-
But I have this against you, that you tolerate that woman Jezebel,
who calls herself a prophetess and is teaching and seducing my
servants3 to practice sexual immorality and to eat food sacrificed
to idols
Jude 1:11:-
How terrible it will be for them! For they lived like Cain did ,
rushed headlong into BALAAM'S ERROR to make a profit, and destroyed
themselves, as happened10 in Korah’s rebellion
Balaam's error: numbers31:15,16:-
“Did you keep all the women alive?” Moses asked them. 16 “Look!
These women were the same ones who were counseled by Balaam to cause
the Israelis to commit a grievous sin against the Lord at Peor. As a
result, that plague infected the Lord’s community.
Numbers 25:1,2:-
While Israel remained encamped in Shittim, the people began to commit
sexual immorality with Moabite women, t who also invited the people
to the sacrifices of their gods. So the people ate what they had
sacrificed1 and then worshipped their gods
3.Their women dress like men to show equal to men against Bibile
Deuteronomy 22:5:-
“A woman must not wear what is appropriate to a man, nor shall a
man put on a woman’s garment, because anyone who does this is
detestable to the Lord your God.
True bibile christians should pray for these "harlotic sprited"
christians to repent.(a public message by [email protected])
