Even as the U.S. pushes homosexuality into every crevice of American culture even requiring forced homosexual history classes in the K-12th grade curriculum in states like California with the explicit stated intent of portraying homosexuals as heroes, Russia is going in the exact opposite direction with Putin signing a law banning adults from indoctrinating Russian children with homosexual propaganda:

Putin Signs Law Banning Gay ‘Propaganda’ Among Children - Bloomberg

What is this all about you might be asking. Simple. Russia is watching America erode by wasting so much time and energy on the acceptance of issues that divide and produce no economic or national homogeneity and are rejecting what they see.

The trend right now in Russia is toward building up the nation's nuclear families. Russian children will be raised to focus on an education template built around a challenging curriculum encompassing math, science, language, technology, etc... at a high level designed to benefit both them and the nation economically and bring about a national unity. Simultaneously, Russia is working hard to reduce alcoholism amongst their population.

U.S. children, on the other hand, are increasingly being exposed to a watered down curriculum diluted with a whole lot of ethnic and cultural social science classes that accomplishes the opposite. American children are being pushed towards adopting "alternative" sexual behaviors and told to explore things the vast majority of them would never even imagine on their own. In the U.S., the deviant sexual appetites of a minority are being pushed onto the majority and increasingly at very young ages. U.S. teen drug abuse rates are soaring.

By the time the children of both nations mature the U.S. children will be confused/immoral/addicted at higher rates, in a much worse economy, and with student loans to pay off for substandard degrees rife with divisive content making many of them globally uncompetitive.

IF Russia's successful (and that's only if) in implementing their plan, it is expected that the next generation of Russian children will be enculturated with traditional family values and the right education to fit into the advancing work place.

American has fallen from first place to average for industrialized nations in math, reading, and science. Russia is exactly in the slot below the U.S.:

International Comparison of Math, Reading, and Science Skills Among 15-Year-Olds | Infoplease.com

Though ratings for the U.S. are A- with Russia scoring B roughly, all major U.S. ratings agencies have the U.S. economy with a negative future outlook but not Russia.

Independent analysts are expecting Russia to surpass the U.S. in math, reading, and science in the short term and then build a much better economy in the long term.

The US is a democratic country. It is also majority Christian. I would look to get more organised and use your vote if you think the US is going the wrong way.

Both the U.S. and Russia are secular countries that incorporate democracy into their Constitutional republics.

The U.S. is rapidly trending toward post-Christianism to join the ranks of Europe. A new study by the Barna Group ranking American support for the Holy Bible reveals an astounding 91 out of the 96 U.S. largest cities – a whopping 95 percent – are not “Bible-minded” anymore. The study showed that only 83 out of 96 cities in the U.S. have at least 20 percent of their residents qualifying as Bible-minded.

Barna Group Study: Bible-Minded Cities

So while 73%-76% of the U.S. population identifies as Christian or Catholic on religious surveys, what exactly that means in real life for them is very different than what it meant for their grandparents.

American Religious Identification Survey (ARIS): http://www.census.gov/compendia/statab/2012/tables/12s0075.pdf

25% of young American adults say they have no particular religion whatsoever

Statistics on religion Pew Research: Statistics on Religion in America Report -- Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life#

and the percentages amongst U.S. teenagers who say pornography, homosexuality, sex outside of marriage, etc... is not intrinsically immoral is now over 50% nationwide.

One wonders what the decline of morality in the U.S. will look like societally in a few decades.

I really don't understand what you are trying to say here. Could you elaborate further?

Every country engages in social engineering. There isn't a country in the world whose government abstains from the practice.

Of primary interest here for genuine Christians, is that two large countries with approximately the same percentage of their populations identifying as Christian (in one form or another) are trending in opposite directions from a socio-religious perspective.

It's going to be very interesting to compare and contrast the results both nation's social engineering produces. Will implementing a morality based on a traditional interpretation of Christianity produce better results or will the stripping away of it produce better results.

Outlawing "indoctrination" is dangerous. What about those who believe we are doing the same thing?

Sexual immorality doesn't equate to morality. They are not equal. In fact, they are diametrically opposed. But Nautilus's bleating to the contrary really shows he missed the point of the article which is that we now get to see in real life the results both have on large societies.

So you're asking what entity has the authority to define what indoctrination is? Let's look at the definition of the word. Obviously, there are various organizational bodies that produce definitions for words so I'm just taking the standard Merriam-Webster definition here:

1: to instruct especially in fundamentals or rudiments
2: to imbue with a usually partisan or sectarian opinion, point of view, or principle

The reason why you see both teaching and imbuing associated with indoctrination is because both concepts apply. Now the moral authority behind indoctrination depends on what's indoctrinated and who it's coming from.

When GOD conveyed special revelation to humanity in the form of His Word, that was a form of indoctrination. In that case, the moral authority is positively present in the who and the what.

When a parent repeats what God has conveyed to their children, by extension the moral authority is present in the who and the what.

Governments (e.g. higher powers) are also ordained by God for the benefit of humanity within parameters that are always morally superseded by the de jure highest power (e.g. God). In whatever form the government may be, higher powers are always "under" or "below" God and never possess God's approval when it contradicts the good purposes for which God ordains government.

For example, God created the power of fire but the government is not within its moral authority to dictate that it's lawful to use fire to burn down the homes of your neighbors so you can steal their land from them. God created the power of sex but the government is not within its moral authority to dictate that it's lawful to engage in gross sexual immorality.

Because God respects human freewill, He has chosen to tolerate evil for a time. Look at what's happening in North Korea or occurred in Sodom and Gomorrah. But ultimately, God is going to restore and judge all things.

A good treatise on this subject is 'Romans 13' by Timothy Baldwin. You should read it.

I thought I was being crystal clear:

I will agree with you to a point. There is biblical equality in that we are all created by God and as such have the possibility of being sons and daughters of God through Jesus Christ.
There is also though a secular equality where people are treated equally regardless of religious standing or whether or not they fit into a certain religious paradigm.

The first equality is amazing and praise God for it. The second is I think something to work towards as worldly nations where Christianity is not the end all be all of society which it unfortunately is not due to original sin and free will.

Right now the government is forcing homosexual indoctrination on children in the public school system in some states as they agitate to make people who engage in homosexual sex acts with each other a protected civil rights class of people that get greater government protection and access to taxpayer programs than people who don't engage in homosexual sex acts.

Not only is this unfair to heterosexuals, but with the government actively involved in propagating the homosexual agenda on the next generation, a whole lot of young people's lives are going to be immersed in gross sexual immorality in adolescence and their persons and lives ARE going to be impacted in very serious ways. That's OK with you. But it's not OK in reality.

If Christian epistemology is an accurate view of reality, than this obviously goes against God's design for humanity and the betterment of individuals and society. Furthermore, it's outside the scope of what God has ordained government to do.

Engaging in homosexual sex acts has real consequences to one's person. I've never known anyone that engaged in a homosexual "lifestyle" who's spirit and personality were not changed toward ungodliness and hardened toward God. And when they repent, they have a major handicap in the form of a deviant sexual addiction that many struggle with afterwards for years and some for the rest of their life which for the vast majority could have been avoided.

Of course, it begins with parent's modeling biblical gender roles in the home as they live out biblical Christianity. That is complimented by parents teaching their children the difference between right and wrong and answering questions.

Are you looking for grand theatrics or something? Lol.

I don’t remember a thing about my indoctrination into heterosexuality. How old were you when your indoctrination tookplace?

Whether or not the USA is morally done for in comparison to it's Christianized past or not, God certainly isn't done at all. That means people are going to be saved and people are going to grow.

But true history (and God's Word) reveal that when most of a nation turn away from him persecution for Christians and judgment for the nation usually begin. I can see both have already begun somewhat.

We need not lose hope though. There's a lot of good to do as there's still light and the reward is great and waiting for all who love God.

Truthfully, we have it easy compared to the Christians that had to endure the iron curtain and bamboo curtain just last century.

But yeah, it's kind of weird for those of us who grew up in a Cold War to see Russia building toward a moral more godly society and the U.S. sinking into immorality and decay. I remember when it was exactly the opposite.
