Acts 13:38-52 hehe
I hope you're not saying people that worship this way think they're justified by keeping the law, Brighthouse. Good gracious, how many times has the been addressed? Common! *Sob*
Acts 13:38-52 hehe
I understand how many of you feel!! I am not speaking this to upset any of you! But I believe it is time for us all to hear some truth about what many have looked to do with our Jesus and mix the law with his grace. They cannot mix brothers and sisters, though many look to. I have great love and respect for all of you here! You have a right to disagree of course!! But when you have been made free by Jesus, why look to become in bondage again over something we have no control of? The law was perfect, but it had no salvation,it set no one free within it. Hence why our Jesus had to fulfill it, so he could make a far better one,for us to stay free in! Thanks all.
I was just considering this thread a course I took on Deuteronomy a few years back.
It was called "The Gospel according to Moses: Theological and Ethical Reflections on the Book of Deuteronomy" by Daniel Block, a renowned Hebrew and Biblical teacher, professor of Old Testament at Wheaton College. Not that his credentials matter, except the fact that his knowledge of Hebrew is incredible!
He looks at Deuteronomy in light of Christ and the gospel, and he finds the gospel even in the Old Testament. The book is quite incredible, but a hard read if you are not theologically inclined, or if you don't like a lot of Hebrew words and script thrown in.
It really changed my view of God in the Old Testament. Really, God is the same yesterday, today and forever, and above time, so why wouldn't the gospel be evident in the Old Testament? Living by God's Word and following Christ, even before he was born.
The basic premise is that the law does not stand in opposition to grace, but rather God's gracious mercy has been evident from the beginning. So it is never about what we do to be saved, but about how God has saved us!
God has never said that the law has salvation in it, and God has never spoken against it as you are.I am negative about the law brother because the law has no salvation to it! It cannot save,it has no grace,it was perfect!!I agree!! So perfect no one but Jesus himself could have ever fulfilled it! Now as a believer of what Jesus did!!! I am not under the law any longer!!
I will show you again bro!Rom 10:4!!!! For Christ IS THE END OF THE LAW for righteousness to EVERYONE!!! That is me bro who does what??? BELIEVE!!! I do believe bro!! If you do not then this is a problem I sure do not have! and you judge me??? careful brother!!! be oh so very careful!!! For from your false judgement you shall reap as well! Gal 6:7-10!!) We can agree to disagree brother, that is fine!
For here these words from the Lord!!( acts 5:38-39!!) I know who I am in Jesus brother! I have NO FEAR!! But for those who judge falsely upon the wisdom they do not have, they shall reap what they sow! By the way!! I forgive you !!
You strive to keep saved.
I strive to walk in the spirit, and thus I for the most part do not fulfill the lusts of my flesh
But I would never say i was perfect. or did not have flaws..I would never want to excuse my sin, or consider myself more righteous than the next person (for then I would be boasting in self) . I am righteous by the blood of Christ, thats all!!

He strives to please God who saved Him by grace through His son. It's called gratitude.
You keep the spirit of the law by not keeping sabbath. That's how it works?![]()
Keep on thinking this.
1. He does not believe in eternal security
2. He does not believe a born again believer will continue in God, but can fall in sin and lose salvation
3. He does not believe I hate sin, I strive to live for Christ, on the contrary, He think I love sin.
Thus he is depending on HIS ability to keep the law. and NOT fall into sin for his salvation.
He has deceived you.
Matthew 22Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: 5And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. 6And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: 7And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. 8And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes. 9And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.
But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together. 35Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying, 36Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38This is the first and great commandment. 39And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
4 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
5 They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.
6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.
7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.
13 Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.
14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.
15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.
16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.
18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
19 We love him, because he first loved us.
20 If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?
21 And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.
10 And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.
Hey WAIT!!! The law kills those who do not have Christ, but the law does not kill those who go to Christ with repentance for forgiveness. I am objecting to you not caring about the law any longer, God never tells us that because He saves us from the law we are not to care about it. You are ignoring much of scripture. You are telling God that because you have the wonderful gift of salvation and it is free, you can't buy it, you owe God nothing. When God says you are under grace not law for salvation, God never adds that you are to ignore law because of that.Brother Redtent you said, that God said the law does not kill?? humm 2 cor 3:6-7 would disagree with you brother. But perhaps maybe you can help me then!! What purpose does the law have to me the believer of Jesus? We are not under it, as you said,so why would I pay any attention to something I am not under any longer thanks to Jesus?? If I lived in sorry wrecked up house which I sure did before Jesus!
And someone came to give me a much better house to live under it,and I went to live in that house Jesus provided me,why oh why would I ever go back to the other house,or even refer back to it? For what purpose? What need would I have of something I am no longer a part of??
The purpose of the law in the first place was to show just how bad I was without Jesus! I KNOW THAT!! But he is both in me and with me now, would he take me back to something he already fulfilled? Why would Jesus do that? If you completed something it is fine to take note of the completion!! No problem!!
But for what cause would I care about something I am no longer under? Please do help me understand,i sure do not have all, not even most of the answers brothers and sisters, but I have shown you why, and what answer I believe i have received. P.S. your mean just me!! LOL kidding agreeing like that against your own brother!! shame shame LOL
This is all true, it is scripture. God is based on love. Love is an abstract idea, it is something in our hearts. But the very word for this abstract idea includes doing or it is not truly love.GOD is Love and a Spirit that must be Worshiped in Spirit and Truth.
Deuteronomy 6
Matthew 22
1 John 4
The Root of Jesse
Isaiah 11
GOD shows us what Love is.

Even the Lords Prayer talks of our dept, and we are to ask it be forgive. We ask that we even be saved for temptation to sin, and you are saying why should you care about that stuffy old law? That is not from scripture.
You are listing one single attribute of the law and say that is all about law. The blind man felt an elephants tail and said an elephant was like a rope. You are not blind, you have all of scripture. One attribute of the law does not explain the law.
I am negative about the law brother because the law has no salvation to it! It cannot save,it has no grace,it was perfect!!I agree!! So perfect no one but Jesus himself could have ever fulfilled it! Now as a believer of what Jesus did!!! I am not under the law any longer!!
