“So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God's household, having been built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the corner stone” (Ephesians 2:19, 20).

This article explores the idea of apostles in the church throughout church history. In it I will show that the restoration/Latter Rain idea that fuels the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) is unbiblical and dangerous to the well-being of Christians who become part of it. First we will review how the early church understood apostles in church history. Then we will examine the Roman Catholic Church’s teaching about apostolic authority.

From there we will examine the ideas of a 17th-century mystic given new life in the Latter Rain movement, and now the NAR.

At a 1996 Fuller Seminary conference hosted by C. Peter Wagner, a movement that Wagner previously labeled “post-denominational” became the New Apostolic Reformation.1 Besides Wagner himself is another person prominent in the movement—Bill Hamon—who is strongly endorsed by Wagner. Hamon is important, as we will see, because his ministry goes all the way back to the early 1950’s and began on the heels of the Latter Rain Movement.

UMM But why would you want new prophets and apostles? Weren't the ones God already sent good enough? Or did they miss summik?

This is almost an easy prediction.
Read paper about corruption.
Connect dots that people won't put up with it any longer.
Make prophecy about that which is easily predictable.

It's like looking out the window, seeing dark clouds over head...
Then claiming to hear from God that it's gonna rain soon.

Jesus said He would send forth 'prophets, wise men, and scribes.' Paul commanded "Despise not prophesyings." He also taught that prophets were given till we reach the full measure of the stature of Christ.

For dispensationalists with a futuristic view of Revelation, there are references to prophets and prophesying in the book.

No tricks are necessary.

When I first read about his "The Perfect Storm" series, I read notes about it that said something about the bubble around the solar system shrinking or weakening (I don't remember which), followed by a comment that he didn't know what that meant. He said that radiation would get into the earth's atmosphere because this and cause skin problems.

So I looked up 'bubble around the solar system'. There was a new science web page dated the very day before I made this search stating that scientists had discovered a bubble around the solar system. It's wear solar wind hits the incoming cosmic waves, which are really radiation particles, and causes them to dissipate. I believe they thought the solar wind was weakening.

That really caused me to take notice.


A lot of those prophecies are specific things to take place in a 10 year time table. It's big stuff like magnetic pole moving (which is happening also) and interfering with communications and things like that. It's not just vague stuff. He does say things can be averted if we cry out to the Lord, a sustained cry.
