I don't think she has a clue who is using her. She finds a way to make scripture back her up, and she truly believes in what she is saying. And she loves the Lord. It tells us how important it is to read all of scripture, every bit, and let only the HS lead us.
I'd rather believe that, RedTent, because the alternative means that she does know. Then you've got "the mystery of inequity," which is what Jesus accused the Pharisees of. Need I say more?

What about the verses of Scripture? Are there 2 distinct laws being accepted? Aside from the names and mistakes, what about the information being presented? The verses quoted cannot be disputed.

yes, THE HEBREW ROOTS MOVEMENT is a cult.
Personally, I am not interested in labels. I am just trying to find the truth that leads to life. Alot of people think they have found it but they are deceived.

Mat 7:21 KJV - Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Mat 7:22 KJV - Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Mat 7:23 KJV - And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

These people thought they had the truth but were mistaken. Knowing the correct definition of the term "iniquity" is the key.

1. The term means without law, or violating the law
2. Every human ever born is guilty of this. thus this would describe everyone who ever lived but one (christ)
3. Your focusing on the wrong part of the passage, The part you should be focusing on is the first part...

Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

These are people who thought they were right with God correct. But were mistaken, Not because they worked iniquitey, we all are guilty of this, But because they tried to earn their salvation by works. and though God would accept these works as payment for their sin.

The pharisees of Israel will be at the top of the list who will try to use this defense when they are judged. Many in the church who follow their pattern will be right behind them. and there are MANY

If there was something you could argue about you definitely would.

Instead you thought you would just attack her person. Why? Did the truth hurt? Again? Maybe you should look into that.

Its pretty simple and clear.

Ye that work iniquity.

And those who Christ has given rest. Christ can only give us rest if we come to Him and Know Him. The Lord Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life.

The sages of the Talmud see a direct link between themselves and the Pharisees, and historians generally consider Pharisaic Judaism to be the progenitor of Rabbinic Judaism, that is normative, mainstream Judaism after the destruction of the Second Temple.

All mainstream forms of Judaism today consider themselves heirs of Rabbinic Judaism and, ultimately, the Pharisees.

one would want to know if certain people understand the parables.
Jesus said it was given to some to know and others would not.
He even gave the interpretation of some.

but that's the NEW Testament.

I could see you viewing that as an accusation. I was actually thinking of myself when I wrote that first line about love. I know of no Love that wouldn't at least attempt to show you what you are trapped in.

That's what the Lord Did with me. He showed me I was trapped and when I tried to twist and wiggle intellectually He just kept showing me. A lot of people think that Love just tries to be agreeable in an attempt at peace. That hasn't been my experience.

My experience has been more like Peters. When I look away from the Lord, even momentarily, I begin to sink.

I didn't even know I had a technique. But yeah, you're right, I guess it is ineffective. But you should have seen how I did it 4 years ago... It was with a club in one hand and the bible in the other... I'm trying to get away from that, a little lol

p.s. Thank you for calling me young man. I haven't had any one call me that in a really long time...
In my last post I got rather long but I just thought of a perfect example of what I have learned that has enhanced my understanding of Jesus' teachings. This is an excerpt from a book (faster than typing it out!) that I read a year or so ago, about when Mary anointed the feet of our Savior. "You are probably familiar with a dramatic gesture Mary made one day, sitting at the feet of Jesus once again. John 12:3 describes the scene like this: “Then Mary took about a pint of pure nard, an expensive perfume; she poured it on Jesus’ feet and wiped his feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.” Without understanding the cultural background in which this event occurred, it’s easy to miss the full significance of Mary’s gesture. What exactly was she trying ro communicate? Jesus himself clarified one aspect of the srory by commenting that Mary was preparing him for the day of his burial (Matt. 26: 12). We understand that her act of devotion pointed toward Christ’s death at the end of the week. But we miss something else that the disciples would have immediately realized, something so obvious that Jesus didn’t even need to mention it.
By anointing him with expensive fragrances, Mary may well have been
making a statement about who she believed Jesus was, proclaiming him
as Messiah. {In fact, the Hebrew word for Messiah
is Mashiach, which literally means “the Anointed One.” Christos, or “Christ,” is the
Greek equivalent.} But why “the Anointed One”? The word
“Messiah” alludes to the ceremony used to set
apart someone chosen by God, like a king or
a priest. Instead of being crowned during a
coronation, Hebrew kings were anointed with
sacred oil perfumed with extremely expensive
spices. Only used for consecrating objects in
the temple and for anointing priests and kings, the sacred anointing oil would have been more valuable than diamonds. The marvelous scent that it left behind acted like an invisible “crown,” conferring an aura of holiness on its recipients. Everything and everyone with that unique fragrance was recognized as belonging to God in a special way. In the ancient Middle East, the majesty of a king was expressed not only by what he wore-his jewelry and robes-but by his royal “aroma.” Even after a king was first anointed, he would perfume his robes with precious oils for special occasions. Listen to a line from King David’s wedding song:
You love righteousness and hated wickedness;
therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy. All your robes are fragrant with myrrh and aloes and cassia. (Psalm 45:7-8)
Consider, too, this passage about King Solomon: Who is this coming up from the desert
like a column of smoke, perfumed with myrrh and incense made from all the spices of the merchant? Look! It is Solomon’s carriage, escorted by sixty warriors, the noblest of Israel. (Song of Songs 3:6-7
During royal processions, the fragrance of expensive oils would inform the crowds that a king was passing by.

Now take a look at another scene from the Old Testament. It describes a newly anointed Solomon being led into Jerusalem from the Spring of Gihon, just outside the city, and then parading through the streets on a mule while people stood by and cheered:
So Zadok the priest ... went down and put Solomon on King David’s mule and escorted him to Gihon. Zadok the priest took the horn of oil from the sacred tent and anointed Solomon. Then they sounded the trumpet and all the people shouted, “Long live King Solomon!” And all the people went up after him, playing flutes and rejoicing greatly, so that the ground shook with the sound. (1 Kings 1:38-40)
Now consider a striking parallel in the life of Jesus. It happened the week before his death, right after Mary anointed him with the expensive perfume.? Just as Solomon had done a thousand years earlier, Jesus rode a donkey on his triumphal entry into Jerusalem. Imagine the scene as recounted in John 12. The crowd was not greeting an ordinary rabbi. No, people were shouting out: “Hosannah! Blessed is the king of Israel” They were remembering Solomon, the son of David, who long ago had ridden through their streets on a mule, and now they were proclaiming that Jesus was the promised “Son of David,” whom God had sent to redeem his people.
But the significance of Mary’s action doesn’t stop there. It seems likely that the smell of the perfume with which Mary anointed Jesus would have lingered for days. God may have used Mary’s act of devotion to telegraph a subtle but powerful message. Everywhere Jesus went during the final days of his life he had the fragrance of royalty. Jesus smelled like a king.
Imagine, in the garden of Gethsemane, as Judas and the guards approached Jesus to arrest him, the guards must have sniffed the air and wondered who stood before them. When Jesus was on trial, mocked, whipped, and stripped naked, even then the aroma may have clung to him. What an amazing God we have!
But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him. For we are to God the aroma of Christ [the Anointed One] among those who are being saved and those who are perishing. To the one we are the smell of death; to the other, the fragrance of life. (2 Corinthians 2:14-16).
What a fascinating parallel, which shows what Paul meant by the “aroma of Christ.” As Jesus’ followers, we spread the fragrance of our anointed Messiah everywhere we go."

Hope you enjoy this teaching as much as I did!

You know? If I’d performed rituals throughout my life because of my religious beliefs and how I’d been brought up because I believed that’s what God wanted me to do, though I never actually understand why, and then the day came when I realized that all these rituals I performed actually pointed straight to the Person of Christ who actually came in exact accordance with those rituals, I would be so freaking happy in that discovery—yeah! I’d probably spend the rest of my life taking time out to repeat these rituals in celebration, for now they showed me perfect proof of the reality of God and His ultimate deliverance of humanity! I would do this in worship on a regular basis. Such rituals would now mean more to me than words can say. When we sing praises to God, that’s about worshiping Him. We don’t sing praises to attain salvation or to prove we’re better than others that may or may not do so. Worship is not about us; it’s all about Him!

I watched a series of television programs years ago in which a messianic Jew and his wife, with each consecutive program, performed a different Jewish ritual. As they went along, the fellow would explain the significance of each and every step involved in that ritual and it pertained to Christ’s coming. It was a wonderful study. The Old Testament is an absolute treasure chest. When we are lead through it properly by those who are familiar with each and every factor involved (yeah, Jews that practiced those rituals), we see that over the course of 4,500 years God worked out His plan of salvation by way of the Jewish race, culminating in the coming of Christ and fulfillment thereof which now includes the entire human race. What about celebrating the phenomenal intricacy exacted in these rituals that PROVE CHRIST represents an evil cult? I say the accusation itself is evil.

Our accuser is not Christ. Our accuser is Satan himself. And yet, without shame, so-called Christian’s repeatedly attack not only Jews that have to Christ, but Christian’s that take tremendous joy in the fact that they have along with celebrating with them as a unified body of Christ, those jewels of understanding Jews that have recognized their messiah have brought to the plate. I say Hallelujah Lord Jesus! Thank you God for bringing these Jews to Christ as well as well as adding their own understanding of these Old Testament promises to our own. My faith is so deepened when I see this happening.

I guess the accusers will always be present until our Lord returns. Their purpose is always to tear down rather than to build up.

“You will know them by their fruits.”
John 5:45 Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust.

Hebrews 12:1-2
[SUP]1[/SUP]Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, [SUP]2 [/SUP]Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

The Lord Jesus tears down strongholds that are against Him. We have built these strongholds with suggestions from the enemy. What is the biggest stronghold of them all??? Religion. Just look at what the Lord says to pharisees.

Now I'm seriously asking this question and not accusing. How do you tell someone that they are trapped in Judaism and legalism seeing that it is perhaps the biggest trap ever made? Do you describe the beauty of the trap and show how good it is for your life?

Or should you describe the beauty of the One who sets us free from this trap? Uh-oh. Someone is looking away from the trap. Someone is outside the trap beckoning to the prisoners. Better hurry and get them back into the trap before they convince others that there even is an outside... The prisoners have convinced themselves that they love jail...

The Lord must know which prisoners are ready to be free and which aren't.

Well I hope you get a grip before judgement day. Woe to those that call good evil. Your God is your sick and twisted conspiracy theories that twist you so bad you can no longer tell the difference, and with twisted people, they always are obsessed with twisting everyone else's mind as well. That's like you sit here like a harpy, making sure you inject your poison into these threads repeatedly non stop day in day out....

When you first came to Christ and had your first taste of Victory was it because of your extensive knowledge of anointing oil and hebrew culture?

I'll bet it wasn't. I'll bet you came to Him by faith, as a child, begging for Wisdom and Knowledge in the Revelation of Him.

This way of our first Victory, coming to Him by faith, is the way of every Victory we will ever have.

Peter didn't walk on water by knowledge of hebrew roots. Peter walked on water by faith and looking to the Lord Jesus.

Paul, with his extensive knowledge of hebrew roots, exhorts faith and walking in the spirit. He says he counts all his former knowledge as dung compared with the knowledge of Christ.

Philippians 3:4-11

[SUP]5 [/SUP]Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee;
[SUP]6 [/SUP]Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.
[SUP]7 [/SUP]But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.

I guess I didn't explain myself very well. Not for one second would I ever advocate that knowledge of the Hebrew culture is a substitute for what we have through Jesus. You bet your booties I "came to Him by faith, as a child, begging for Wisdom and Knowledge in the Revelation of Him." And He granted my request because He knew I was sincere and it is His will that we grow in the knowledge and wisdom and grace...you know all that.

I, personally have been greatly edified by learning more about the culture of Biblical times and in particular, Jewish customs, since Jesus was Jewish and He taught with that background. To put it on a very basic level just for the sake of trying to make clear that the Mosaic Law does not save us, make us righteous, justify us, etc., when a person first learns about something and really likes it - say...the game of chess for example...they have a zeal for learning all they can about the game in an effort to get better at it. This is similar to what I am saying the learning of Biblical culture, Old Testament historical events, the Mosaic Law in its three categories (Levitical, moral and judgmental), has helped me see a bigger picture of Jesus' sacrifice. And I shared this with you because even as old as I am, I still get excited like a child when he/she first learns to walk, then to run, ride a bike, and such. Please pardon me if I have stepped on your toes or offended you. And please understand that when something makes my faith and understanding grow, I want to share it with anyone who will listen.
