Can a soldier be a soldier if they do not fight? I would think a christian is supposed to be like a soldier. He can believe and not fight, but then would that not make him an unbeliever? If they truly believed then they would believe enough to obey the commandments that yeshua gave us when he said for us to go and spread the good news. We can't do that if we are anonymous.
Who is this?
If I knew a person was only going to harm me I wouldn't walk with themDoesn't mean they wouldn't know my name, where I'm from, and that I love Jesus. I would also block anyone online who is merely trying to abuse me or waste my time, but they'll know my name and what I associate with.
Matthew 7:6 "Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.
I pick up hitchikers all of the time. It can be risky, but I'm not going to let fear keep me from loving my neighbor and helping those who need it, like "scary" homeless people. I'm not married so I don't have a husband to tell me what to do. If he didn't like me doing that I wouldn't, but neither would I marry a man who has a spirit of fear, too scared to pick up a walking person. I don't have children either to protect.
And if I get harmed or killed for loving my neighbor.....
Matthew 5:10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
How can you be insulted if they don't know who you are?
1 Peter 4:14 If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you.

I agree that God does protect us, but He also gives us wisdom. I don't deliberately walk out in front of a truck, because even though I believe God protects me, it would not be wise to do so.
Neither would I use my social security number as my user name.
The question to me is ''If I do not use my real name as my chatter name, am I denying Christ?''
The answer (for me anyway) is no, I am not denying Christ. I am simply choosing to NOT use my real name.
Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. Matthew 10:16
Mark 5:9 Then Jesus asked him, "What is your name?" "My name is Legion," he replied, "for we are many."
Irrelevant...LEGION was an anonymous hoard. We don't want the church to be that way.
They wouldn't give their names.
I wouldn't give out your address btw. City, yes, name definitely.
I wouldn't give out my personal address eitherBut my city and most assuredly my name. I will not live a life where I do not associate my name with Jesus Christ.
Luke 12:8 "I tell you, whoever publicly acknowledges me before others, the Son of Man will also acknowledge before the angels of God.9 But whoever disowns me before others will be disowned before the angels of God.
