Lately, all the things of life, the world, struggles, (well we all have them :))have just seemed so huge.
Ive prayed and asked Jesus just how does one live, walk in the world and yet be no longer of the world, when the world just keeps trying to grab at ones feet and pull one down under.

I was again asking this last night, what does one look to in faith?
When the scripture about Jesus walking on water and Peter walking to Him came to mind.

We all have read how Jesus was walking on the waters, when Peter saw this, he asked Jesus how, and Jesus said faith.
So Peter decided he would walk to Jesus on the waters also.
Peter took a few steps, and then looked away from Jesus and doubted, it was then Peter sank like a rock.
Of course, Jesus reached out to Peter and lifted him up, bringing safely to the boat. :)

So as I considered this, I saw clearly the it was when Peter took his eyes off Jesus, that doubt entered him.
It was in this, that I saw that faith, must also keep ones eyes on Jesus, for He is the way, and faith requires Jesus for success.

I also considered that when Peter lost sight for a moment, thus doubting, that Jesus remained faithful, giving Peter His hand, so he would be safe.

I also considered again, how many waters refurs to confusion, storms, difficulties.

It all was again so simply given, the way through all the worldly storms, confusion, struggles .
That in all we seek and learn, it is the simplest, that the way, the truth and the life is realised.
Faith in Jesus!
For we walk by faith, not in what is seen, but our eyes on Jesus, even though we do not yet see Him.
For by faith, with our eyes on Jesus, we will walk confidently across any difficlt waters that the world tries to set before us.

Even greater still, it that if we do for a brief moment of doubt, take our eyes off Jesus.
He will remain faithful, lifting us up with His hand, so we will not sink.
And bring us to a safe place.

Thankyou Lord Jesus!!!!

I am so greatful, for this simple understanding given in Jesus Christ is Lord come in the flesh.
That we all, can walk upon the many difficult waters that the world may place in our path, as long as we keep our eyes on Jesus, and even if in a moment of weakness, loss of sight comes upon us, doubt, Jesus will remain faithful , keeping us safe with His hand holding us always.

Just wanted to share this gift given in Jesus.

I have noticed this happens alot, an understanding set before me, and soon, Ill see another sharing that same understanding!

About focus on Jesus.... how can I even DISCUSS sin if I focus on Jesus? If Jesus is in my future and IN FRONT of me, can I still see sin coming my way?

I know the past, there is just filth and sin and evil, but WHO PICKS UP THE CROSS or the PLOUGH and looks BACK? God says clearly the one that follows Him and looks back IS NOT WORTHY OF HIS KINGDOM....

Now if I look to the future, and I see sin, Jesus is not in the picture... Yet so many say.... Cobus you will ALWAYS sin.... WOW! Jesus step aside s oI can see the sin coming.... I do not look back, I look forward and ALL I can see is my Holy Lord. Glory, Light and a perfect peace.... I am made free, and I am IN CHRIST and HE IN ME.... And in HIM IS NO SIN.

Walking on water happens EXACTLY like Peter did.... Jesus WANTED him to walk to him on water,,,, The same with sin, Jesus WANTS us to step on Satan, and not place Satan equel or above ourselves... We shall RULE OVER SIN, not sin over us... That is what FAITH IN CHRIST IS.... Nothing less...
 
Your understanding is correct. A deeper one will follow if you read it even more closely: Peter walked on water, Jesus walked on the sea.

Water is the cover, sea is the reality that new creation can be formed out of. Jesus creates new reality, we apply it. Both work miracles proper to our role.

Do you think the fact the Greek word for water implies potable water, but the sea contains salt
makes a difference?
 
No, I don't. The Talmud explains (and proves with a falsified experiment) that sea water absorbed fresh water in limitless amounts. This fact is not true, but is what they believed. I think that is the key to their thinking. Jesus was on top of it all, and each of us is on top of whatever He creates us to be on top of.

The best way I can try to speak to what you are saying is with a scripture. :)

In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God.
And in Him everything that was made, was made,
and everything that was not, was not made.

Really a beautiful thread Pickles, your such a blessing to everyone. If I could add my insights. "They word is a light unto my path." it refers to the inner spirit man, and a lamp, as Samson was blinded because he was weakened in a moment and betrayed, the serpent referring to the Adversary is always after our inner spirit, to blind our spiritual eyes, to side track us from looking unto the Master, and for Samson to have had all the physical strenght he was weak within. The adversary cannot fight against us physically, some do get beat up but he is after our inner newness to destroy our focus, strength and hope.. for the joy of the Lord is our strenght, and therefore our inner spiritual eyes need to be enlightened always by the lamp of his word, which means we need to pray and he will make the way.. a little long but nothings brief with our LOrd, his love goes on infinitely.. great thread pickles, hope your chickens are doing great too....
 
In addition I find continual washing with God's Word helps clean the world's dust from my mind.,
 
When they walked on water, they were so absorbed in the spiritual world's reality that they were above the physical laws. They knew of the importance of God's world. Daniel did this. When he was asked to bow down to the symbol of Babylon, and put it ahead of God he said no. He was able to give up everything of his secular world and make God the most important.

I have recently had to face some pretty tough things in the secular world I live in. If it was the only world I had, I'd be a wreck.

As to the chickens, they are very large now, very pushy and very greedy when it comes to scraps and treats.
They are enjoying life these days , as Im canning, so they get all the lovely trimmings from fruit ect... :)
Still waiting for those first eggs, which we learned was not when we thought, but sometime late this month.
Im building more perches for them, as they like to watch what goes on in our yard, so improving the view for them.
We need to trim their wings soon, Im nervious about it, but told they dont feel a thing.
I just hope we wont be on the recieiving end of those beaks. :)
