Read Matthew 5 commandment keepers and tell me which one of you is perfect like my Father in Heaven is Perfect?

Thank you for giving me the understanding of your Love and patience and forgiveness by my commandment keeping. Thank you for showing me that commandment keeping is the way to your heart, o god. Oh how easy and delightful is my perfect commandment keeping lord. I am so glad I am not like those sinners over there who have no understanding and don't keep your Perfect Law like I do.

This is very strange. Christ says "If you love Me keep My commandments" and you accuse anyone who does that (by the grace of God) of being a legalist or of being self-righteous.

I know personally I can't keep the whole Law, not at all in or of my unredeemed flesh, so I came to a point in my walk and saw that I am dead in dead flesh in need of life and thus asked God for this what I needed and God gave me this over a period of years of working out my own salvation with fear and trembling. Then I saw the next verse and saw that it is god that works out my salvation through trusting God and God poured out God's love all over me. So I no ,longer fight accordingly to the flesh as I see many here do, and are trying to be loving, and are without.
I know you believe and are on your way to see truth, as well as I see others that already see the truth and give God all the credit.
I know it is confusing, because what I speak is not of the flesh, and I am not better than anyone else ever for God has no respect of person. God views us all the same, whether we do what you do or not.
It is God's love that sets one free to be free. Nothing else does.

Homward,, it is thru the Grace of Jesus that we are able to keep His Commandments. God gives us the desire as well as the strength to obey Him and resist temptation. Would you agree with that?

We can't say we love God in the spirit,, and believe it's okay to be a hit-man for the Gambino Crime family while we reside in the flesh...do you agree with that?

So,, we are to control our thoughts and our flesh. Bring it under Control! Subdue both... I tell you,, if the thoughts are subdued,, the body will also come into subjection to the mind. You will still have battles,, but isn't temptation what we are to overcome?

My friend, although I believe that God expects obedience, I have NEVER believed and NEVER said that obedience brings eternal life. I have always stated that it is a free gift from God, made possible by Jesus Christ. What I have said is that God is selective and does not give this marvelous gift of life to just anyone. He gives it to those who are obedient to Him. He already has one great disobedient Spirit and his followers to deal with, why would He want more?

the Spirit writes the commandments of God on our hearts. that is why Christ said the greatest commandment is to "love the Lord" with all your heart, mind and body. Do this, and you will not look for arguments to start, you will not question if the precepts in the law are good, you will not wonder if the salvation depends on how you look in the mirror of the law.

before Moses, the covenant of the law made with the Israelites did not exist - how then was Noah called a righteous man? How was Melchizadek an high priest before Levi was even born? This shoudl teach you that the law is not the path to holiness, but given to reveal sin to man - to show us we NEED a savior. What commandments did Abraham follow?

to be honest, i don't think we will "truly know what it is to love God" so long as we're in these mortal bodies.

our hearts and minds cannot perceive it, cannot contain it. even the Holy Spirit is "a foretaste" -- only a hint of the glory set before us. this is why the word says "the work He began in me" He will not fail to complete.

i agree that the Spirit indwells all believers. i disagree that some "emotion" or "feeling" is necessarily a part of conversion. what is necessary is to believe on Christ -- the thief on the cross beside Christ, he was told he would be with Him in heaven -- but the Spirit did not enter the world until pentecost, many days later. to set up some sort of litmus test to prove something to men is wrong, IMO, as much as requiring that someone speaks in tongues.

the way i see it, as much as we are all parts of one body, we experience the Spirit in many ways, not all the same, and not the same through our whole lives. when the mouth tastes good food, does the toenail feel it? in the same way, while some of us feel a supernatural force, others are convinced in their minds, and others simply trust through hardship without ever really feeling anything but hope to hold onto ( as Paul said "some are saved as by fire" -- 1 Cor. 3:15 )
