As believers, and believing the Word is here to inform us about what we need to know, I have always and will always believe what the Word says; what Yeshua says. Three days and three nights.

It does not matter to me which type of sabbath it was that was the reason for our Savior to be taken down from the cross, it was a sabbath. Actually the day matters to me only if the Father says it does.

What matters is Yeshua fulfilled the Law and the prophets to the letter.

If no man is able to compute three days and three nights, we will all just have to wait until all mysteries are revealed in the Kingdom and stop the guesswork.

Three days and three nights. The Word says it.

CoooCaw,

re: "...and (part of Wed day plus) Thurs Day + Fri Day + Sat Day"

re: " the resurrection happened BEFORE SUNRISE"

If it happened before sunrise on the Sabbath, how do get any part of the Sabbath day time?

Your counting makes all sense. Now for the others, right? Crucifixion day - one day...the ensuing days would be counted, with the nights. Now whatever day one begins with will take anyone to the third night because it is after the third one of the days.

We have to take into consideration the majority of people did not know when the last millennium ended and this one began.

CoooCaw,

what if I do? but I dont!!!

the resurrection happened BEFORE SUNRISE

so sat nite is not a full nite!
Yes it did, it happened about 12 hours before sunrise, at about the sunset of the evening before. Christ was in the tomb 72 hours. He was take down and buried at/about sunset on Wednesday afternnoon/evening. Now add 72 hours and we come to at/about Saturday afternoon./evening.

To whom is your post directed? And what does "makes all sense" mean?

Luk 23:54
והיום ערב שבת והשבת הגיעה׃

Here above is from Luke concerning the day of the crucifixion. It only says it was the eve of Sabbath and the Sabbath drew on.

It does not say whether this was the Sabbath of the Lord or the Sabbath of the High Holiday, Passover. I believe it was the Sabbath in question here is moveable, but if I am incorrect, you my show me in Scripture. Being moveable, the day of the crucifixion could have been any day of the week. I ask it be checked since I am not absolutely certain on this point, although I just reread it.

Num 28:16
And in the fourteenth day of the first month is the passover of the LORD.

Num 28:17
And in the fifteenth day of this month is the feast: seven days shall unleavened bread be eaten.

Num 28:18
In the first day shall be an holy convocation; ye shall do no manner of servile work therein:

And the other eyewitness account?

Joh 19:31 The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.

Whenever the three days and three nights of Matthew 12:40 is brought up in a "discussion" with 6th day crucifixion folks, they frequently argue that it is a Jewish idiom for counting any part of a day as a whole day. I wonder if anyone has documentation that shows that the phrase "x" days and "x"nights was ever used in the first century or before when it didn’t include at least parts of the "x" days and at least parts of the "x" nights?

CoooCaw,

So let me get this straight - are you saying that the crucifixion took place on the 4th day of the week with the resurrection taking place on the first day of the week?

CooCaw,

re: "...clear?"

What's clear is that your scenario has 5 calendar days being involved with the time that the Messiah was in the tomb.

Gen 1:5....so the evening and the morning were the 1st day......

the Hebrew day started at 6 O'clock our time in the evening....
the women who were preparing His body had to hurry to get Him in the Tomb before Sabbath began
of course the Hebrew days were named different.
these were the 3 days and nights He was in the grave according to how we count days

........Thursday evening - Friday morning... Passover Holy Sabbath
.........Friday Evening - Saturday morning.... Unleaven Bread Holy Sabbath
........Saturday Evening - Sunday morning.... The Sabbath Day (7th Day Sabbath)
3 days and 3 nights

Jesus rose some time early Sunday morning on the 8th day

ProphetExcalibur,

re: "the Hebrew day started at 6 O'clock our time in the evening...."

Actually, sunset (start of new day) varies from 4:47 to 7:51 during the year (based on a January to December year).

re: " the women who were preparing His body had to hurry to get Him in the Tomb before Sabbath began"

Actually, the women weren't involved at that time. It was Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus who prepared the body for burial.

re: "Jesus rose some time early Sunday morning on the 8th day "

Actually, Sunday morning would have been the 1st day of the week. The weeks consisted of 7 days just as they do now.

Do you know of any writing as asked for in the OP?
