I actually had a lot of the same reasons ErraticEmily listed. I rarely thought about relationships (platonic or otherwise), or considered them important until the last few months. I think it made God angry that I was trying to take control of my own life instead of paying attention to what he had for me. I think for a time it may have been the right thing for me to focus on other things, but that probably ended several years before I gave in. I didn't love other people enough to be there for them. I'm still single, but a lot happier. My stubbornness was affecting my life and relationship with Jesus in ways I never would have guessed. I was given a blog post about it if anyone is interested. Not saying it's for everyone all the time, but it helped me a lot.

I think, it's the Lord's will. When it's the right time, things just happen right, they happen from Him, and, to push things on your own, or, complain (how did that work for Israel in bible times? ) is just not going to get it done 
We need to understand that things happen for a reason and they are His reasons, and , we are to, by faith, realize that there are seasons of our life, sometimes VERY loooong seasons, where we are in a same spot of whatever doing, and, THEN, finally, we SEE something differently, we understand something differently, and, I believe, that is God revealing His way for us differently.
I was thinking of this the other day, an example, like, hmmm, I can't think of it now , but, yeah, something ,like, where, I'm thinking my way to what I said, wait for me, wait for me, hmm, so, like, we don't understand something in Scripture we remember back 10 years ago that is crystal-clear now. I believe, God just, in His 'due time,' as Scripture says, opened up our mind to understand that something more And, becoming to a point where we can go out with girls and be ready for marraige (eventually) works the same way. "Wait on the Lord and you will be lifted up with wings as eagles, you will walk and not faint, and, you will run and not grow weary. "

Wow.. after reading all of the replies.. by far my favorites are the one's with clever funny answers.
I too believe that being single is not bad. However, like many I too look for the possibility of being married to the one God has made for me and vice versa. As at least one other poster to this query, I am recovering from a porn addiction and after 3 years of walking with the Lord again, He is healing me from my past lesbianism. And I am once again learning to desire men again as God intended. So needless to say I still have a way to go to meet the man for whom God has designed me.
I use to be impatient but now I am finding contentment in the Lord and how to establish Godly friendships which is key for any relationship.

Haven't met Prince charming but above all living in a ill family like the psychologist I met told me after revealing that every abuses I faced were true because too detailed to be false. So how I can find a man in such situation, situation when your mother doesn't let you go out for a walk by keeping the door's key (it happened and believe me it wasn't pleasant at all).
