Is Christian Metal bad?

I've seen many lyrics as questionable or more so in mainstream Christian music, especially CCM. At the same time, I've seen more powerful godly lyrics in some of the hardest Christian music out there that isn't very popular. CCM has got to the point where much of it fails to mention the gospel message and it does praise something, but it's never made clear what in some cases. Many of the lyrics are very vague and open for interpretation and cause a "feel good" emotional response much like mainstream secular music that promotes things such as humanism, hope, joy, working together, etc. Which of the two are conforming the most to please the world and be politically correct?

Not so much vague as the lyrics tread well-trodden ground. Much of the time they don't say challenge their audience or say anything new. There's a lot more to the Christian faith than the fact that Jesus came to earth as a human, suffered, died and rose to new life and ascended into Heaven. That's central to our faith but we need more meat to sustain us. Metal is one of the more honest genres in which to worship God and encourage and challenge other believers to wrestle with their doubts and trust in the One who made them.

i have heard many amazing things come from Christian metal... Yahweh even used Christian metal to minister to me in my life when i was not saved; i have friends who have gone to Christian metal concerts, and have witnessed first hand people coming to know Yahweh for the first time through the music...
God is not so utterly powerless that he cannot use a music genre to bring sinners to know Him.

Are you sure you are drawing angels? Can you worship God while banging your head. Satan can appear as an angel of light. Most metal stuff is inspired by demons. Most so called christian metal bands admit that they get their inspiration from secular metal groups. Those secular metal groups are inspired by demons, so the metal so called christian groups are inspired by them as well. Just because you change a lyric or two and insert the name of Jesus, does not change it origin. Can you lift your hands and weep to a metal song. Yes I am drawing angels, and as for your question I believe it would depend on the person. And honestly you make a very valid discussion however I still do not see christian metal as evil.
