How was the word made flesh?

For the one whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God[SUP][i][/SUP] gives the Spirit without limit. John3:34
Silas,

How was the Word made flesh?

He took upon Himself the flesh of humans, that is how the Word was made flesh. It is called the Miraculous Conception. Indeed, the Word has always spoken the words from God, that is why He is known as the Messenger from God. But, as concerning your verse here: the Word left His estate to become a man, and truly He was man. That being so, the Father gave Him the Spirit without measure. But, are we suppose to believe that He having taken on this role, that He ceased from having been the Word and that He did not receive His Godly throne back when He returned as the resurrected Christ?

Oh boy, you don't answer any questions do you, just ask 'em.

and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove Luke3:22

Why did the Spirit descend on Christ in bodily form at his Baptism?

Then read John 3:34

Now please, don't ask me anymore questions until you can tell me why ministers don't demand their flock believe Christ is God himself to be saved.

Jesus was the fullness of God in his he was God dwell in him when the holy spirit came into him
Josh,

I am sorry, but I have been exhausted. I will leave you with this: the Word became flesh. But, that did not cause Him to cease from being God. In fact, He received His throne back when He returned and that throne is/was eternal, as God said to the Son who was the Word in the flesh.

Josh, I just hope that you give an ear to the Spirit: God, in all of His administrations, still remains eternal in whatever form He shows Himself.

Chris.

Hi Josh that's right.. that does not mean Jesus the word was created then. The triune God has been in an eternal dance of community in eternity.

The thing to remember that Jesus is both God and man, he is eternal and yet he became flesh, because he loved us so much, that he became the perfect sacrificial lamb. He who knew no sin, was made sin. And where the first Adam failed..the second Adam (Jesus who is perfect because he is also divine) put things right.

I pray that you earnestly think about this, I really mean that.. for all our eternal future is based on Jesus, who he is and what he done and is doing.

Josh if are 7th day adv. then you would be messed up on what is man. They don't believe the soul/spirit of man is immortal, never dying. We are born with the sentence of temporal and eternal death, separation from God upon us., when we are born of God , we receive eternal life in our soul/spirit, no more separation from God; at death of the body, the righteous soul/spirits go to Heaven, But our bodies will be raised, on the last day(the last 1,000 yrs. of history for plant earth). The soul/spirit of the evil go to Hell, at the death of their bodies, until the res. then they ,with a new eternal body and old soul/spirit, will burn in the lake of fire for ever. That is the ugly truth of God's word. Like it or not, Love to all.,Hoffco

The "God" of the Old Testament is not the Father, but actually Jesus! John 1: 1-14
[SUP]1[/SUP]In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
[SUP]2[/SUP] The same was in the beginning with God.
[SUP]3[/SUP] All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
[SUP]4[/SUP] In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
[SUP]5[/SUP] And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
[SUP]6[/SUP] There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
[SUP]7[/SUP] The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
[SUP]8[/SUP] He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
[SUP]9[/SUP] That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
[SUP]10[/SUP] He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
[SUP]11[/SUP] He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
[SUP]12[/SUP] But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
[SUP]13[/SUP] Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
[SUP]14[/SUP] And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

More than 90% of the references found in the Old Testament pertaining to "God" refer to Jesus Christ! This discovery profoundly changed my understanding of the Bible and Jesus. Consequently, I now have a much different perspective about the words and teaching of Jesus. It is wonderful to understand how Jesus discussed themes and issues when He was on Earth (as recorded in the Gospels) that He previously discussed with Moses, Isaiah, Ezekiel, Jeremiah and other Old Testament prophets before He came to Earth. As we proceed through this study on Jesus, I will provide scriptural references that demonstrate why I believe, in most cases, the God of the Old Testament is Jesus .

Hi Josh,

First born here does not mean first created, rather in Jewish thought it is the prerogatives of the first born

God was not talking to His beloved Son in the beginning. He was talking to the Word, the same One who CREATED all things. As you say, friend, the Word took upon Himself flesh....BUT it was then that He took the name of Jesus. The Word remained Creator even in His flesh. It was at His death that Jesus (the name given to the Word in the flesh), went back to Heaven as the incarnated Word. The Word has many titles: Messenger of the LORD, Son, Jesus, the Christ, the Lamb, but it has always been the Word who fulfills the will of the Father, as He did as Jesus.
NOT TO CAUSE dissension,

So the Bible tells us that Jesus isn’t ‘God’s human son’, rather, that Jesus, who is co-eternal with God (that means that like God, he existed forever) became human. Jesus was like God - eternal and perfect - but he became human so that he could enter into our world and die for humans.

The Bible treats this as something to marvel at: ... Jesus Christ ‘though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.’ (Philippians 2:6-8)

The actual ‘mechanics’ of how God had a human son are not explained to us, but we are left in no doubt that Mary’s conception and pregnancy are miraculous - you could read chapter 1 of the gospel of Luke to see the angel tell Mary that she will fall pregnant.

The gospel of John, which is written in very symbolic language at the beginning, speaks about ‘the word becoming flesh’. ‘The word’ is Jesus - who was with God in the beginning - and he became flesh - this is what ‘incarnate’ means - to be made flesh.

This makes it clear that Jesus is the eternal God becoming human. It isn’t so much that God had a human son, but that God’s son became human for our sake.

It means exactly what it says, "the first born from the dead" Col.1:18 Jesus is the first man ,human being, to be raised from the grave to the eternal, glorified human state. All those raised before Jesus ,had to die twice. Jesus is and every will be the 1st. in "preeminence" among all men. NOW, when we look at Col.1:15 ''..the image.. firstborn over all creation.." we see the eternal relationship of the eternal Word, the eternal Son of God, with the Father. look at Col.2:9 "For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily;" In the body of Jesus ,walked the eternal God among us. the GOD/man. He is not created because He created all things. As GOD, He is eternally begotten. thus "the only begotten God." NASB ( theos, god ) some manuscripts say, son, the better ones say, god. SO, the mystery of God is great. SO, study hard. I hope God has mercy for those don't understand this, on the judgment day. Love to all, Hoffco

Jesus went out of His way to do things only Jehovah of the OT can do. To know Jesus, you
got to know the OT. You'll miss what Jesus did and said, in the NT, if you don''t know what
is associated with Jehovah in the OT.

Hello everyone,

In this kind of topic it must be cleared to us the real being of Father God and Jesus for us to identify the difference between them. Please refer to the following verse below:

Father God:
Ephesian 4:4 - One God and Father of all
Exodus 20:5 - Jealous God
Titus 1:2 - God that cannot lie
James 1:17 - Whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning

Jesus Christ:
Ephesian 4:5 - One Lord
John 1:1 - The Word
Proverbs 8:22 - The word was with God
1 John 5:20 - The Son of God and the True God.

Biblical Truth: God and Christ are both God but not as one persona. They have the same traits in many aspects but they also have differences.

Please read the verse.
If you have more questions regarding to this matter, please feel free to email me:
[email protected]

All answers will be read from the Bible.
Thanks and God Bless

Theres only one God and that's King Jesus. He was talking to the angels when He said lets make man in our image. There was not two Gods talking only one. God and King Jesus are the same entity.

Just give it some thought...

In order for many of the views I've read in this thread to be true, God would have had to lie about the Holy Spirit, despite Almighty God saying he hates liars, and that he cannot lie.

God sent the angel Gabriel to announce to Mary the coming arrival of his son within her body. The angel Gabriel let Mary know that the Holy Ghost will come upon her, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow her. The angel Gabriel let Mary know that what shall be born of you shall be called the Son of God. (Luke 1:35)

At no other time in the Bible had Jesus' arrival ever been announced, nor had he ever previously existed. We have to be careful about assuming that types of shadows of one man are equivalent to a different man's direct appearance. If we're going to stand on a view based on our own understanding (one that is not explicitly stated in the Bible) we should be mindful in not attaching it to God's truth.

Or possibly also not attaching it to God's requirements. I am sure any person willing to be led of the Holy Spirit would agree with you, as the bible is Holy Spirit inspired truth.
