Sunday worship is it tradition from catholicism shouldnt it be the sabbath ? I ask this only to see your biblical scriptural opinions God bless

Traditionally it was on a Saturday yes. It has nothing to do with Catholics / not Catholics though. It is likely it changed with the early church to celebrate that Christ rose.

I don't think God is concerned with what day you use, as you should "pray always" anyway :D

I believe Sunday worship is a tradition, but it is also an order from God for his children to worship (not specifically on Sunday's), but to do so. Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching Heb 10:25. Also the Book of Acts is an outstanding reference to Christian unity and worship and what can happen as a result of our dedication to worship.

The Sabbath is the seventh day. It's a day for rest, not specifically for worship.

Ex 20:10 But the seventh day [is] the sabbath of the LORD thy God: [in it] thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that [is] within thy gates:

Deut 5:14 But the seventh day [is] the sabbath of the LORD thy God: [in it] thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thine ox, nor thine ass, nor any of thy cattle, nor thy stranger that [is] within thy gates; that thy manservant and thy maidservant may rest as well as thou.

Sunday is called the Lord's Day and it's a Christian tradition dating back to John 20.

John 20:1 The first [day] of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre.

John 20:19 ¶ Then the same day at evening, being the first [day] of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace [be] unto you.

Acts 20:7 And upon the first [day] of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.

John assumed his readers would understand the term.

Rev 1:10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet,

John 20:1 The first [day] of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre.
They saw that he was gone, but not when Christ left. It wouldn't be something to base a worship day on.
John 20:19 ¶ Then the same day at evening, being the first [day] of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace [be] unto you.
Christ said peace be unto you, not anything about the Sabbath
Acts 20:7 And upon the first [day] of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight
.This was speaking to them, but when they talk of Sabbath worship in Acts, it was on the Saturday Sabbath.

There is nothing in the bible that says Sunday should be the worship day, there is only Paul saying not to judge people by the day they worship.

The start of Sunday as a day to worship was told about in documents other than scripture, when Nimrod, great grandson of Noah invented worship of the sun. That is why it is called sun day. Pagans kept to this worship day. When Peter and Paul went to the gentiles to bring the gospel, they brought it to people who had always worshipped their gods on Sunday. The gospel was more important than what day the Sabbath should be kept. For the first 300 years after Christ, the Sabbath was kept mostly on Saturday but Sunday was done more and more. When Constantine made Christianity the state religion in Rome, he wanted this to be a new religion apart from anything Jewish people did, so he made it unlawful to do anything the Jews did.

.......yup, and like some other days/events, the leaders of the early Church looked around and said......."Ya know what? These Pagans have had this day/celebration long enough, it's time we (the Church) took it and made it a day/celebration for/of God the Father, the Great I Am" .........and good for them......

A wise man once said "Man was not made for the Sabbath, rather the Sabbath was made for man..........."

What is important is that we set aside a day to celebrate, worship, praise God.........

(next thing you know folks will be complaining about Wednesday night Prayer Meetings 'n such.......) :)

The original poster asked for our Biblical scriptural opinion, please show in the book of Acts where Christians sacrifice two lambs on Sabbath, per the scriptural requirement for Sabbath worship:

Num 28:9 ¶ And on the sabbath day two lambs of the first year without spot, and two tenth deals of flour [for] a meat offering, mingled with oil, and the drink offering thereof: 10 [This is] the burnt offering of every sabbath, beside the continual burnt offering, and his drink offering.

I think you missed the purpose of this thread:

your biblical scriptural opinions God bless

Saturday is the sabbath (rest on 7th day).
Sunday is the first day of the week SIGNIFYING the first day of the New Creation.
Pick your Tradition

I would say both saturday and sunday wich would be logical as most people are off on the weekends and would fullfil scripture

I think the point of the Sabbath was to give us a needed day of rest. Some people work on Saturdays and Sundays, such as doctors. They have no choice - people get sick on weekends. They need to find a different day of the week to have as their Sabbath.

2 Timothy 3:16 [SUP]16 [/SUP]All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness

Leviticus 23:1-3 23 the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, [SUP]2 [/SUP]“Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘The feasts of the Lord, which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations ( times to meet with the LORD), these are My feasts.

The first one that is written is the Sabbath and no where in the Bible is this changed. He said this day was a holy convocation and that it was to be remembered and guarded from generation to generation. That means not done away with.

The Sabbath

[SUP]3 [/SUP]‘Six days shall work be done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of solemn rest, a holy convocation. You shall do no work on it; it is the Sabbath of the Lord in all your dwellings.

Where does it say "New Creation". Christ was with us from creation, there were centuries leading to Him, Christ replaced some of what had been and fulfilled others, what is new?

2 Tim 3:16 All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

Deut 5:15 And remember that thou wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and [that] the LORD thy God brought thee out thence through a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm: therefore the LORD thy God commanded thee to keep the sabbath day.

Rev 2:9 I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and [I know] the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but [are] the synagogue of Satan.

Remember it was God who took us out of slavery of the world. With his mighty hand and Yeshua's outstretched arm Therefore we are to keep his Sabbath the time he chose to meet with us and by doing this we declare he is our Lord

Scripture is very clear, that God blesses the Sabbath and that is Saturday. God is very orderly and exact. Look at the tide tables, how God orders the tides. Even the dates of Christ's death, burial, and resurrection was on the same day the Lord gave feasts for them to honor prophesying them. Christ was crucified on Passover and rose on First Fruits. The HS was given on Succout.

Even though the Sabbath was part of the ten commandments, God told Paul to tell everyone that the day they chose to worship was not the important thing. If God's children would obey in spirit, they could choose the day, so devout Christians can keep Sunday worship.

But when we truly love the Lord and want to follow Him the very best we can, it seems such a small thing to do to honor all of what God says! We are to be able to give our lives for God, wouldn't you think that following God's small direction in this would be worthwhile? When Christ lived with us, Christ certainly would never go to synagogue on the day of the sun!

The verse Deut 5:15 doesn't say "Yeshua" it says הוָה.

Prov 14:5 A faithful witness will not lie: but a false witness will utter lies.

I'm Syrian and descended from the people of Nineveh and the first Christians of Antioch, who have worshipped YHVH ˀElohiym since the time of Jonah.

Jonah 3:4 And Jonah began to enter into the city a day’s journey, and he cried, and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown. 5 ¶ So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them.

Why should my own people, some the original Christians of Antioch, who have never kept Sabbath, start now?

Acts 11:26 And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.

So you can steal my grandmother's cultural heritage like you stole that of the Jewish people? Is that scriptural?

Exod 20:15 Thou shalt not steal.

Rev 2:9 I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and [I know] the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but [are] the synagogue of Satan.

Matt 4:5 Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, 6 And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in [their] hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. 7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

Not sure what you are trying to say in all this but in the Bible Yeshua is the Arm of the Lord. I did not steal anything I am a follower of Messiah Yeshua and this gives me roots as I have been brought into his family through his grace and mercy to me. For the love he has given me and the things I have seen I do my best to walk out my life in honor and love for him. He said the ones who love him will do what he has said. He is the word so the whole holy Bible is from him and in it is his will for each of us.

Just curious as to what the exact difference is?

Quote: "The verse Deut 5:15 doesn't say "Yeshua" it says הוָה."

From the Complete Jewish Bible…

…Deut. 5:vs13) You have six days to labor and do all yourwork,
14 but the seventh day is a Shabbat for ADONAI your God. On it youare not to do any kind of work - not you, your son or your daughter, not yourmale or female slave, not your ox, your donkey or any of your other livestock, and not the foreigner staying with you inside the gates to your property - sothat your male and female servants can rest just as you do. 15 You are to remember that you were aslave in the land of Egypt, and ADONAI your God brought you out from there witha strong hand and an outstretched arm. Therefore ADONAI your God has orderedyou to keep the day of Shabbat.

From the KJV…

…Deut 5:vs13) Six daysthou shalt labour, and do all thy work:
14 .) But theseventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do anywork, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thymaidservant, nor thine ox, nor thine ass, nor any of thy cattle, nor thystranger that is within thy gates; that thy manservant and thy maidservant mayrest as well as thou.
15 .) Andremember that thou wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and that the LORD thyGod brought thee out thence through a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm:therefore the LORD thy God commanded thee to keep the sabbath day.

Do not all of these refer to the Lord God, the Great I Am?

I am not going to get into a argument with you as that looks like what you want. The blood on the doors in is a symbol of the blood of Yeshua his out streched arms nailed to the cross blood poured out to save all who will believe.
