So kayem77 got me thinking about how women always tend to fall in love with certain characters in books or movies. (Mr. Darcy takes the cake I think for any classic reader, or Gilbert Blithe.) I wondered if guys do that. So men, what female leads do you tend to fall for?

If by bad girl you mean the tough girl who's anti-fashion and typically against the idea of dating males who are chauvinistic pigs, ooooooh yeeeeaaah :)

LOL - now before this goes any further, what I mean is: Do you find yourself falling for a particular character as WIFE material.

Not just someone you think is sexy in a cat suit. :p

again....catwoman. And those who have seen my posts in previous threads from roughly a year ago will corroborate this fact.

Snow White from Snow White and the Huntsman. She was an awesome character and had so many good attributes. I tend to like the reluctant heroine types. Not so big on the purposeful heroines (almost any Angelina Jolie role, for example).

At a young age, my mom liked to watch gangster movies which ended up causing me to be attracted to snarky New York/New Jersey women. Now that I have had the opportunity to date one, the appeal has gone. Still attracted to brunettes though. :)

I would still like a strong women in my life, and have always been attracted to such, I just would like them to be more loving and kind towards me. Stand up to me all you want, just in the end, remember we are on the same team and I want to work together.

With all the Mr. Darcy talk, I can't help but think of Elizabeth Bennett as a leading contender for wife. An older version of Padme Amidala has to be in there too. Princess Leia would be in there as well. I loved Scarlett O'Hara earlier in my life, but she never softened up enough in the end, even when it all came to an end.

See there Grace Like Rain? There you go - it's Catwoman for Zaoman. Catwoman works for me too right at this very moment - right at this molecular stasis in forward time, Catwoman works.

What I'm trying to say.is we men spend most of our time being shallow Here at CC, I've seen intelligent men, introspective men, men with deeply religious roots and all of us playing in the shallow end of the pool. We're just not going to give you a satisfactory answer here. We're not going to give you what you're looking for unless one of our wild stabs at an answer happens to hit home.

This isn't to say we don't go to the deep end. I go there sometimes, usually underwater and always alone. So my short and shallow answer is that I think we men simply look for women that can swim - a lot of times with us and sometimes without.

Re-reading this sounds like I'm in a bad mood but I'm not. Just ....shallow!

Love your response KJV! And like this thread! My "dream" man is modeled after John Wayne. Strong in body and character and able to handle a strong woman AND want her that way! ;)

Grace Stamper from Armageddon.

Mary Swanson from Dumb & Dumber.

Veronica Mars (Probably number one on my list and there is going to be a movie soon, yay)

That ^^^ Yeah.

Ken...I sort of understood, but then again...not so much.
Yes - that's because you and NodMyHead are deeper than I am. What I said went way under your head. I can't even explain it well! See - I think women read a book or see a movie and get all into a guy because he has character, is loving, compassionate, good dad, high ideals, good virtues, listens, blah blah whereas men just want Catwoman. Really just a girl in the catwoman suit would be ok. And its because we're shallow.

Now what we might look for in a mate - a wife, at least for me, is her independence I think. Her ability to swim alone. And when I'm in that deep end I get in from time to time, I'd like to think she was a good enough swimmer to get me out - just like I'd do for her.

It's probably still not clear but now my head hurts.
