Then the Lord spoke to Job out of the storm. He said:
2 “Who is this that obscures my plans
with words without knowledge?
3 Brace yourself like a man;
I will question you,
and you shall answer me.

4 “Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation?
Tell me, if you understand.

21 Surely you know, for you were already born!
You have lived so many years!
(Job 38:1-4 and 21)

Note: Read Job 38 carefully and try to find who was that man Job? Was he born before laid the earth's foundation, as God Himself said in verse 38:21

Job 38:21) Knowest thou it, because thou wast then born? or because the number of thy days is great?

Look back to:

Job 38:4) Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding.

Seems to me God is giving Job a whooping here.......letting him know that he wasn't ANYWHER around when God was creating all.............but, that may just be me.......

Was Job a prophet? Never heard anyone refer to him as such.........however the Book of Job may well be my favorite Book in the Bible. There is so much there that we can all learn from........it has surely stood the test of time. Job is said to be the oldest of the Books of the Bible I understand.....

Anyway, no, I do not see these Scriptures saying he was born before the foundations of the earth were laid......

He certainly was not Jesus, nor the Holy Spirit..........

Simply put, Job was a man who simply loved and feared God, not a Prophet.

God loved him, and had a hedge around him, as evidenced by what Satan said about him in The first two chapters of Job.

This is a silly translation of this verse. Not even close to being accurate.

No matter and the story goes to show each of us to stand in the midst of adversity, any and all. Trust God and no other, the creator of all, known by us through Son Christ even as Job said this before Christ came here to earth
Job 19:25 For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:

We are looking back as Job was looking forward to the day of reckoning that has now past tense been.
Shall we stand in the midst of adversity?
[h=3]John 16:33[/h]Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

[SUP]33 [/SUP]These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

James 1:2
My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;

God asked rhetorical questions, which Job should have known the answers to, had he the right to question God. As Job did not know the answers to God's questions, and as he clearly could not reply to God's statements, he likewise realised he neither had the wisdom, nor the right, to question God.

Enoch went straight to heaven when " God Took Him" no way God would Gos send him back to start a big family.and be tempted by.the Devil. Elijah is another who was " Taken up in a whirlwind" to heaven.

There is speculation however that Elijah is one of the two witnesses, we read about.in Revelation Chapter 11. The other Witness most likely could be Moses.

The Lord Himself said of Job "that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil." Job 1v8. He is also mentioned along with the great OT saints Noah and Daniel in Ezek 14v14,20 as being righteous.

He certainly was also a prophet, for the Lord Himself revealed to Him 1000's of years in the future the Resurrection and His Second Coming. Job 19v25-27. I would also suggest that if the Lord showed him His Second Coming, He also showed him His first coming as the Lamb of God Who taketh away the sin of the world, for Job refers to His Lord as "Redeemer." Job 19v25

He is also set forth as an example of patience in suffering by the Apostle James (the Lord's half-brother). James 5v10,11.

how about we look at Job 40:9-10 out of context.

"Do you have an arm like God’s,and can your voice thunder like his?
Then adorn yourself with glory and splendor,
and clothe yourself in honor and majesty."

does this mean Job has an arm like Gods and a thundering voice like His?
does this mean Job adorns himself in glory & splendor?

or is God putting him in his place & making making rhetorical statements?

i'm of the opinion that in 38:21 God is having a small joke at Jobs expense.

No. Job lived at a time in history where men's lifespan seemed to reach its limit in the 300 year range. This would mean that he was probably a contemporary with Abraham yet was born well before Abraham.

Enoch was taken up more than 1000 years before Abraham was born.

I read Job is one of the older, if not oldest writings in the Bible.

Perhaps it is the oldest extant MSS. It is assumed to be authored by Moses. If this is true then it is the same age as the Pentateuch.

Job was a contemporary of Elihu, who appears to have been a descendent of Judah several generations removed. If true that means that Job was alive when the children of Israel were in Egypt.

Then was kindled the wrath of Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite, of the kindred of Ram: against Job was his wrath kindled, because he justified himself rather than God. Job 32:2

Now these are the generations of Pharez: Pharez begat Hezron, And Hezron begat Ram, and Ram begat Amminadab, Ruth 4:18-19

And the sons of Judah; Er, and Onan, and Shelah, and Pharez, and Zerah: but Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan. And the sons of Pharez were Hezron and Hamul. Genesis 46:12

Job, btw, is the book I was reading when I suddenly realized I was a sinful being, Christ was real, and I needed to repent. I got saved that night.

The question is whether or not this is the same Elihu.

Job was the son of Issachar, the grandson of Jacob. See Gen 46:13.
He was important enough that he should be buried with royalty. See Job 3:13-15
He may have built the Great Pyramid as a tomb for his Uncle Joseph,
whose mummy was carried out of Egypt in the Exodus. See this:
Who Built the GREAT PYRAMID? by Herman L. Hoeh
