If Harry Potter is bad, why isn't "The Chronicles of Narnia"? Or even Cinderella. In Narnia, they have magic and in Fairy Tales they have magic. So does this mean we shouldn't read or watch anything with magic in it? I'm really confused about this because I enjoyed Harry Potter as a kid and now I'm worried that maybe other things are wrong. Please help me out with this. Thanks!

Wait hold on! Harry potter is bad!? How can this be I love harry potter, and Narnia is certainly not evil either. this is just a doctrine of people who see magic on t.v. and call it evil because of how witch craft is bad. but they forget to look at the plot of the movie, Good vs evil, and the Good always wins. don't pay any attention to such views

My former Southern Baptist pastor said there is nothing wrong with Harry Potter. JK Rowlings was an Anglican and her belief in God, and good and evil comes out strongly in the pages of her books.

As far as CS Lewis, the Chronicle of Narnia are one of the best children's fantasies ever written. I have read them at least 30 times, including 3 times out loud to my kids. The more I read them, the more I understand the allegory of Jesus being Aslan, and the faith God gives us to believe.

The more I read them, the more scripture verses I see embedded in the text. And all about good and evil - with Jesus being the good (or Aslan) and anyone following him learning and growing and loving Christ more. And also learning of the wrath of God.

As for Cinderella, a child's story. Not sure how it compares. I guess it ends happily ever after, like the Bible.

Have you ever noticed how Aslan in Narnia seems to resemble God? He is not a tame lion but is so kind and loving and caring and strong.... God is certainly not tame but he is all of these things and more

If Harry Potter is not bad then it must be good. And if Harry Potter is good, then being a Witch and a Wizard practicing spellcraft must also be good. If Harry Potter is good, then Chronicles of Narnia must also be good, for there is Witchcraft and Wizardry in them as well. Therefore, practicing Witchcraft and Wizardry must be good. And if Chronicles of Narnia is good, then Myths and Fables must also be good, because Chronicles of Narnia is both Myth and Fable.

Therefore, Witchcraft, Wizardry, Myth and Fable are all good.

Right?

I don't know, but for some reason The Chronicles of Narnia doesn't make me want run around saying weird "spell phrases" and thinking I have the power, like Harry Potter does (at least in my opinion). The gospel is the underlying message in "Chronicles of Narnia" and Aslan being a type of Christ, as where He wields the ultimate power over evil. As I recall, the good characters never had power unless it was given to them by Aslan, and that power was in a form of a healing potion, or horn etc. etc. and never came from within themselves.

Good question tho, I think it all comes down to discernment and over all message.

I never allowed Harry Potter in the house or The Chronicles or The Hobbit. I believe its all the same spirit.

Just so you know these movies never once imply to be a witch or something, they are movies to enjoy and watch every now and then. so then by your logic pokemon must be evil too right? what about Disney? I can totally see how Winnie the poo must be evil too as stuffed animals can talk and such. -_-

I don't care for harry potter, narnia, or cinderella. I think these things, can be mined for lessons though.

I am more Puritan in my approach though.

Well lets see, in all of these Good always wins. people all go through trials that strengthen them, people protect each other with their lives and they help each other a whole lot and they all stand together against bad people. ya that's evil, pure evil

Nope it's not the ending that matter but the message through out the movie
