I don't really understand what makes certain people qualified to weigh in advice on certain topics. For instance, (since this happens A LOT on here) someone posts about their troubled marriage and possibly imminent divorce, and all these people who have little or no experience start throwing around verses, and dropping input and advice. Really? If you haven't been there then you don't have a clue what it's like, and no matter how wise you think you are it's not going to change that, duh. Or someone asking for relationship advice and all these singles start throwing in advice...ummmm, you're single...

I guess there could possibly be an exception to the rule somewhere, but there aren't many. Just my thoughts

I kinda get what yer' sayin' dude. There is a thread over in the family forums that I was so tempted to comment on,but just resisted because even though I was married,I never went through what this person is dealing with & yeah I could pop of scripture til the cows come home about what he should & shouldn't do,but it just didn't feel "right". I noticed that there were a bunch of single people posting advice to him as well & thought..hmmm..ok,good intentions but maybe not the best things he needs to hear now. I find I just have to back away from many threads & pray. Lord knows I have stepped on a few toes w/out even meaning to via my posts. It's hard too being someone who was married for 9 yrs & now is single. I sometimes feel caught between both worlds.

Man, I leave my husband alone with a chainsaw for three hours, and I come home to find half the trees in the yard cut down.

That's actually a good thing.

Grocery shopping was RIDICULOUS. And people who don't pay attention to where they're parking their cart drive me batty. I mean, I'm ALREADY batty, but...more. Increased. Battiness.
Yay for husbands! Man, I gotta get me one of those! :p

I'll give advice to someone who is having issues with their marriage just because mine was such a crap whole, I know what it's like to deal with it, but like you said too, there are sometimes when I really want to offer advice and really just can't. I'll even type a nice long response and delete the whole thing because I feel like I'm just spewing word vomit so everyone can be awed by my genius  (oh garsh!) and other times I have thrown in my advice, and thought, "that was pointless and stupid and now everyone thinks I'm a doofus."

Speaking of just spewing words like vomit...

Well, to make a post that fits into this thread (streams of consciousness and thoughts). :)

When you go manual in your spiritual life, you do many things wrong. When you go into automatic mode (let the Holy spirit be the automatic transmission in your life) He will know what to do. So, are we lazy in the automatic spiritual way :p

Unfortunately, I know a LOT more now about marriage than I ever did when I was married. I'm sure some others can relate.

I just felt led to speak to the person who was upset with things going on in her life, or, yes, 'relationship,' and, yes, 'marriage relationship.' Call it what you want, but, I was just praying, hoping the Lord was leading what I was saying, I could see where this person was at right then in her life with her marriage. And, coming on here and venting in the streams of consciousness thread, I just felt was a call for some 'help.' Now, if she was just venting and was hoping nothing would be said, then, I think, and, ItoreHis, I think, would agree, that, in this case, although this is not a 'response' thread, that if no one would say anything to her then this person having a little trouble in her marriage could think we don't care.

That is the main reason that I personally felt led to speak back to her, I was praying that would be something that, if Jesus was on Earth, He would do. And, plus, I like the married ladies that come on c.c., I WANT them to come onto c.c. because they offer a perspective to we singles, and, encouragment, especially to the young single ladies, that just isn't getttable any other way.

But, yeah, I'm sorry, that I offended someone(s), because that was not my intention it was simply to care for someone who was having a little angst develop in her life, in her family, in her married life, which God has put together that Satan seemed to be a little getting-in there, and, that's not good, because Scripture says, 'What God has put together let no man tear apart.' :) And , sure, this is not a guilt time here, we all make mistakes, I'm just saying what Scripture says :)
I pray the Lord speaks ALL I say, too; it's not me who I want to speak, and, do I get in the way ,sometimes, sure, yes. But, it's He who is in me who I want to speak through me, Christ Jesus our holy Lord God, Saviour and friend :)

yeah, kentom, I feel for ya, bro
regarding the bears, the seahawks beat them in playoffs last year and that really sprung our confidence ,even to this season.
regarding the lions, zaomen, you guys last season were toasted by us the first half and then, we went to sleep, or, something, and, you toasted us in the second half. you guys were pretty good last year but, a thorn in your teams side is....
...regarding ndamukah suh. what's up with that guy? one of the pure talent d-line guys and just would rather step on guys heads who are on the ground with their helmet off than just let his (football) skills do the talking. sad. upsets the whole chemistry of that team, probably close to superbowl calibre if his antics aren't going on.
party? did catty say PARTY ! :D I did see her dinner menu, it looked pretty good, curry something dish was one night, which, incidentally, is right after Japanese on my list of ethnic foods that I like: we have an indian curry restaurant here , and, it's all you can eat for $10 mon-fri., I rub-a-dub grub at that place, Tandoori chicken is so yum-a-dum-yum TASTY :)
