Since you wont answer. i will

How does one not commit adultry?

1. The law of love, You love your wife so much you would not want to hurt her. But even this is not enough. temptation can (and does) still creep in and people fall
2. You look at the person of temptation in Gods eyes.

A. They are a person God loves, You should love them the way God does. by serving them, NOT using them
B. You realise Gods view of sex. That taken outside of the way he created it, You not only hurt yourself. but the one you are using for sec.. Again, love comes in, Even if you do not care if you hurt yourself. Your love for them should cause you to not want to hurt them.

3. Humility. Sex outside of Gods plan is all about self. You humble yourself and realise this temptation is self centered. which is not from God.
4. You ask God how God can use you to affect them in a way which pleases God. or to take yourwelf out of the situation you are in, so temptation will not cause you to fall.
5. You tell a brother or sister of your temptation (confess your sin of lust) and ask them for prayer, encouragemnt, and accountabilty.

There are many other things we can do by following the spirit.

But what is missing from this list?

The law. Why? The law says do not do this, IT DOES NOT TELL YOU HOW.
In conclusion, and my belief, unless I am shown otherwise.

The nt law says to follow the love of God.. Which is outward focused.

The law is inward focused. Because we can only do it on our own power. Thats why we do not follow law. But the spirit.

No Paul is not our example only in the fact that we should be lead by The Holy Spirit as Paul was lead. Trusting man does not bring forth fruit.
Good point. By the way, if eternallygrateful didn't have anyone to argue with, maybe he could receive greater Spiritual insight by trying to understand others, rather than forcing his view on others. Now watch him counter this statement that I made to you. ;)

See? there you go again assuming that I believe something else than from the beginning of our conversation. If I am a legalist, as you were saying, how is it that all of a sudden I'm just letting people go, and not condemning their actions by the condemnation that we find in the law?

What started the argument in the first place was your assumptions of my beliefs.

No. what started it was you making accusations. which I countered.

And you still deny what I said is true.

It has nothing to do with condemning anyone actions by the condemnation found in the law. We all believe this.

It has to do with someone claiming we can be saved, and if we do not follow the law. We will LOSE that salvation. Which is a false gospel. You either agree or disagree. its up to you!

No one can show you anymore than what you already know. Your spiritual growth is at a stalemate.

lol.. Well you have not show me yet that I do not understand what you believe.

Your the one making accusations against what others believes is not true.. Not me

I already stated, I do not know what your gospel is. so how is that saying you believe something you don't.

Wow.. Just wow!!

Scripture says even gentiles, who were not given the law, do what is right by the law (God wrote it in their hearts) the problem is they did not believe in God. they chose to obey what THEY deemed was morally right and morrally wrong, thus in doing good. it was still evil in Gods sight, and still worthy of Condemnation (bloody rags)

so would it surprise us that those trying to obey God to be saved (or not lose salvation) are no different than these gentiles who do not even believe in God? No. why>? because it is still self focused.

In all honesty, I haven't seen people saying that we are to earn our salvation in CC. Maybe you have determined that's what they are saying, but I haven't noticed that blatant ridiculous comment. To be obedient to our Creator, and Lord of Lords, doesn't give us the right to say "we can't keep God's law so let's just neglect it because we are in the final and New Covenant now."
This is where it all started. you said "So. Looking at all of these facts. Why do people continue to say we must earn salvation by TRYING to be good? " If we love God why not try to be good?

God saves sinners by Grace thru Faith which leads to good works: We are commanded by God to save ourselves by Repentance, Faith and Good works, obedience to Jesus. If one doesn't believe in these two statements, he is a baby in his Bible knowledge. Love to all, Hoffco

I don't feel it necessary to counter everything. I thought this time I'd hang in there with you and let others see how you really are. Maybe other people get of on arguing about God's word but I really don't. I'm in conflict with your attitude as a proclaiming Christian. Keep in mind, Jesus had no conflict whit the Pharisees that I have ever read in the Bible, until they started a conflict with Him. They had distorted the law to complement their own righteousness. If you think I am doing that, then I ask you, i my father the devil as there's was? Yes or no.

Hebrews 5:9 "And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him," 1Tim. 4:16 "Take heed to your self and to the doctrine, Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you" Heb. 10:38-39 " Now the just shall live by faith; but if anyone draws back, my soul has no pleasure in him. But we are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul." This is God's word , do not argue over it, seek to understand it! Hoffco

Agreed. Why is there such animosity toward people that revere the Mosaic Law? If one takes the entire Bible as truth, even for today, they somehow want to be under the law, or a person that seeks justification by obeying the law.

If Jesus didn’t destroy it, and Paul said that it was holy, good, and Spiritual, why wouldn’t people want to understand what Paul understood, and strive to see the spiritual truth in the law for today? How can a person label another person that is striving to understand the concepts of the entire Bible as relevant as believing in a false doctrine? Is it a deep-seated guilt coming from the accusers? I tend to think so.

Here is God golden chain of salvation:"For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified." Rom.8:29-30 Now, Rom. 2:13"for not the hearers of the law are just in the sight of God, but the doers of the law will be justified;" This is the WORD of GOD, How do you relate them, they seem to be in conflict? Their guilt may not be the answer, It may be that they have believed a lie ,so lone, that they are beyond conviction. It is a lie to believe "faith alone" saves. They are so shallow that they deny the parts of the Bible that are too deep for babys to under stand. Love to all Hoffco

John is very clear in the relationship between love and law keeping: "This is love, that we walk according to His commandments. ..."2jh.6 1jh. 5:2-3 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. and His commandments are not burdensome.: Hoffco

Please keep in mind, one is not justified by keeping the law, one is justified by God's GRACE first, by FAITH second and then by law keeping third. The faith and law keeping that counts to eternal life, is after regeneration by GOD and after Justification by GRACE. then the work of faith and holiness will follow. Rom.6:22 show this relationship between grace and law keeping that saves. "But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of god, you have your fruit to holiness and the end, everlasting life." A holy life leads to eternal life only after we are born of God, set free from sin and enslaved to obey God. Hoffco

This is the relation between Grace and Law in the o.t. and the n.t.. But pastors have lost this truth ,long ago. Law keeping has always been required for salvation. One can not be a "wicked" person and be saved. Only the righteous will be saved, Psalm one teaches this, Jesus taught this. Mt.7:21-23"..depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!" Hoffco

Revelation 22:12-15, "And behold, I come quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give every man according as his work will be. I am the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. Blessed are those who keep His Laws, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. For outside are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and worshipers of gods and everyone who professes to love, yet practices falsehood."

The laws of God have a physical, outward meaning and a spiritual meaning., "do not steal" is physically and spiritually kept, Don't steal and don't covet, and do positive things for you friend that will promote their well being financially. It is the spiritual, love side of law keeping that saves."the law of the law is perfect, converting the soul." When we love God and our neighbor ,that shows we are saved. And when we love, we will not disobey the physical side of the law. Love to Hoffco.
