the health care act isn't remotely like any sort of a pogrom. i don't see the comparison to the kansas nebraska act. i think the stamp act is a better comparison, personally. so much so that the fact opponents of the law never seem to bring that up, but instead compare it to the holocaust or slavery, seems awfully contrived.

It will be interesting watching them try to fund it when the dramatic curtailing of all social services begins. Not too many years left before it begins in earnest.

Aren't we supposed to pressure our government to support social programs to help the sick and poor, even at the cost to ourselves? Or did we forget that when we all decided to blindly replace Jesus with the Republican Party in the Trinity?

I've read the entire New Testament numerous times over the years and have never seen a verse that would lead me to believe that Christ, Paul, or others instructed us to do this. Yes, we as Christians are obligated to help the widows and orphans, but nowhere have I seen a verse that would instruct us to hand that responsibility over to the government.
Personally I would much rather spend my hard earned money supporting a local clinic that provides medical attention to the need than to give that same money to a huge overpriced government bureaucracy. The government has NEVER been able to do anything cheaper that private sector charities.

But in stories I've read about holocausts and pogroms, Jews had to wear a special little devil's star to identify them. Surely the ObamaCare is like the wearing of a devil's star (for *everyone*, not just Jews), and instead of getting the star for free, you have to pay for it. A double tyranny.

Hitler got that from the Muslims. The oldest reference to using mandatory articles of clothing to identify and distinguish Jews from the rest of society was in 807 CE. In this year, Abbassid caliph Haroun al-Raschid ordered all Jews to wear a yellow belt and a tall, cone-like hat. The Catholics got in on persecuting Jews later though too.

By CE, I'm assuming you meant AD. And this time around, it seems everyone will get an ObamaCare number. Hopefully, there won't be an accompanying holocaust.

Many educational systems have dropped Before Christ and Anno Domini (the year of our Lord) and replaced it with Before Christian Era and Christian Era to lose the reference to Christ as Lord.

I agree with you I've lived in countries with government controlled healthcare and it's nothing like the health care system Americans are used to. I did hear Obama say that there would be no increase in health insurance premiums, I just got a notice that mine is going up $94 a month starting January 1st and from what I'm hearing others too are getting premium increase notices. Americans are in for a huge shock when this unfolds!

The Obamacouldcareless health care plan is nothing about health care, would limit access to health care and will increase its cost and decrease accessability.
How's that for compassion???? The bleeding heart liberal who cares so much for the poor....supports a program that will HURT the poor, and middle class...all in the false name of compassion.
