...to add to my previous post, in my opinion, make up is only good when it is used properly, those girls you see who leave half their face on your shirt, or having mascara eyes etc - they haven't learnt how to apply make up. It is meant to enhance natural beauty and highlight the most attractive features on a face. I only use a mineral powder and a bit of blush to make my cheeks look healthy as they are quite chubby and pale (lol), I can't wear mascara as it itches my eyes... and I only enough lipstick to add a stain to add colour, not to leave it on a shirt (or cheek lol).

So, I will defend the use of make-up til the end... only though when used correctly and in a way that highlights the best features. I would rather have a healthy glow about me that comes from a powder... than a sickly pale splotchy face I sometimes wake up to.

To each his (and her) own!

hahaha Ariannaa!!

Oh my dear Luke...
Some of us do have really bad skin...truly!! I DO NOT pile on the make-up and look like a circus clown, BUT I do wear foundation because it does even out my skin...where is the crime in that?

Ha ha. Mr. Sharp, your post made me laugh.

But in all seriousness, we can't BAN makeup, right? I mean that's crazy. I don't like football because I think it's lame and boring, but I'm not going to try to get it banned.

I think that makeup is fine, and just like wearing flattering clothing, it makes a woman feel pretty. It's really no different than a guy making his hair look good, or putting on some cologne, or wearing a nice suit. Sometimes a woman has too much makeup, and that's no good. And I do agree that women don't NEED it to be good-looking, but that doesn't mean we should make it illegal. :p

I totally understand what you're saying Groundhog - football needs to be banned too. ;)

And I'm not so much contending that women can be beautiful without makeup in their natural state, I'm proclaiming that in any situation, makeup actually makes a person look worse, and people are ripping themselves off by wearing it. I mean its just so horrible! Its sticky and it smells and it comes off if you touch it and its just so fake! I don't know how anyone can feel more confident by wearing it....but hey that's just me...thankyou to the 2 other people who voted correctly lol.

The irony in all of this is that in order to wear make-up properly, the 'professionals' will tell you a 'natural' look is best.

So essentially, you need to apply just enough to make it look like you aren't wearing any at all. The whole heavy caked on look is not recommended!!

I spent quite some time working in pharmacies and doing training courses on cosmetics and other products, and they all taught us the same thing : Less is more. Apply it so it looks natural...I always found that amusing!!

I personally don't care for or use make up. I find it rather insulting to myself, and most of all to God. I mean He did create me/us(everyone) in HIS image. I might not be the best looking thing to everyone, but I don't think I'm the worst either. So long as you're comfortable in your own skin, who cares what others think. I hate how it feels on the skin, I have tried using it very few times, but I just can't accept it. Besides, it's like saying ''well God didn't do a good enough job in my opinion, so I'll use make up and fix what I feel He didn't do good enough on''. I figure that if someone has to see me with something on covering up who I really am and what I really look like, there's no point in knowing me. My saying is ''what you see is what you get'' and I mean that in a literal term!

I'm just me, see the outter part as you wish, but look for true beauty inside one's heart. I respect those whom wish to use make up, however, I refuse to use it. Eventually the right guy will come along, and he'll see me and accept me as is. So why worry about what others think? So long as I'm comfortable with myself, they're comfortable with me, and most of all God is! I personally don't want to be out somewhere, it be really hot, and my face start melting off lol....that's so embarrassing, I've seen it happen too many times. The person doesn't even know it, and I do find it ugly and disgusting. I mean ewww look how dirty they look ^_^.

When we finally, truly accept, love, see, etc. others and ourselves the way that Jesus does, we have finally figured out how it should be. If God loved based on looks, well that'd be sad for lots of people out there....cause make up can actually do more harm than good for most. They ''think'' they look better and need it, when in reality they don't. I honestly look WORSE with make up on....yes with it applied correctly. I'm just going to be myself, and if someone doesn't like how I look, they can look the other way. If I don't like how I look, I can just avoid a mirror for the day...or however long that takes haha.

What about those crazy people that paint their body up for sports? I mean yes you have team spirit, and all that good jazz, but you can show it in another form!

Anyhow, that's just my personal opinion on it....key word opinion, so I can't be or go wrong there! God bless everyone, oh and hey...watch out walking around out there, don't want to step on anyone's face that melts off....:p

I know, man. I really enjoyed your posts. And football should be banned, at least in the chatroom! Football and politics. The chatrooms would me a lot more enjoyable for me if those two things were banned.

If a barn needs painting, paint it!
Ouch.

Let's see... I don't wear powders cuz I love my freckles. As for SPF, I use a clear moisturizer.
As for lips, chap stick is a must! Gloss is too much of a mess and bother. I like my natural color. I just don't like weather bothering with them.
Eyes - can't wear mascara. Eyeliner makes me itch sometimes. But often I wear eye shadow because my skin is very light and thin, and I don't quite like the look of veins in that area. But it's usually so light you can't even tell.
I will use a little concealer under eyes.

But when it comes to work, I will do the eye liner, gloss, and blush. With the jobs I do, I have to look "professional". It's a part of the dress code. Hair has to be as perfect as possible and so does makeup. We meet many millionaires and some movie stars. I have to look "the part".

And I agree with the wanting to look pretty. Many of us grew up around women who wore makeup. And as little girls, we looked up to them and thought "I can't wait until I'm big and can do THAT!" So we would pretend to put makeup on, or use mommy's with permission OR without, dream about it when we played dress-up, and beg mom to get us the barbie makeup to play with! It's something that girls equate with beauty, and all little girls want to do is catch someone's attention with their wit and beauty. That's why little girls like pretty things and twirling and dress-up. It's a part of how God made us to want to be seen beautiful. If women do it because they don't think they are beautiful and makeup is the only way they can be, then they are regretting His creation. But I don't see anything wrong with wanting to be extra pretty every once in a while, as long as we know that we are beautiful no matter what we wear or how our hair is.

No one looks better without makeup and if they do they probably never go outside and spend hours squeezing oil and dirt out of their skin pores with tweezers and sticky tape.
Even men look better with makeup, I know I do.
Nah. Not true. My girlfriend(and now fiance) of 4 years never wears makeup. Never. Not even foundation. It is her choice, and I totally respect that choice. She doesnt need anything, honestly.

Mahogony: if everyone looks better with make -up, what does that say about yours (and everyone else who agrees with that)s view on people created that way by God? - Didn't he make us perfect in the first place?

I look better with makeup, but I actually prefer not to wear it.
