I love the part where you addressed none of what I actually posted. Glad to know you're engaging with my arguments Kerry :)

To address the one point you did make - for the record, I use the NIV sparingly. I mostly used the Holman, ESV and NASB, as well as the original Greek for the NT, over the KJV, mostly because the manuscript tradition for those translations is better than the KJV. However, another reason is because the KJV is unnecessarily dense and I can spend more time being challenged by the word of God rather than the rendering of the language, and when I use Scripture to talk to non-Christians, it's better to use language they can understand, than language they have to jump through hoops to understand.

And again, I'll reiterate - The KJV uses more archaic language than Shakespeare. Most people do not read Shakespeare every day, and most people would not want to, so it is not comparable to the Bible. And finally, if you do not want to give Zondervan any money, then don't. No one is making you buy an NIV. They're just defending their reasons for getting or using one themselves.

Here we go

Romeo oh Romeo wherefore art though Romeo. Or

Hey Romeo where your bald head is, you no this trash got to go, so get in here for I put 5 cross your lip, thinking you some romeo. If you was romeo then where my Rolls royce. I knew mama was right old, bald head pig farmer.
I think that if you rewrote some of Shakespeare's works in that style, you might make some good profits also. I would certainly like to read about that "old, bald head pig farmer"! For comedic value, if nothing else. :D

Kerry, if you calling the Niv the new idiot bible, and calling me and others idiots is what the Kjv teaches you then maybe you should read a different Bible because it seems to me your heart is in the wrong place. I saw you have been a Christian for quite a while on your profile, and yet you do not speak or treat others with love but harshness. If you have been a Christian for as long as you have should not be far more developed as one?

Good point, Blain. I used the 1984 NIV for many years, and while I may believe there are better versions (e.g. KJV, particularly compared to the 2010 NIV), it's not a Christian attitude to imply fellow Christians are idiots.

Kerry's posts on this topic make me laugh, but I certainly don't hold that you are an idiot if/because you use NIV.

So why don't you read all them translations you boasted about. Why do you need the New Idiot Translation?
Sir, I own nearly every English translation put out over the last 60 years. I don't even use the NIV in my personal studies, but I do not condone it. In fact, in the entire 425 posts (426 if you include this one) that I've contributed to CC, can you find just one where I cite the NIV? You won't find it, because if I'm not using the Nestle-Aland GNT, then I'll use the NET, ESV, or NASB as a quick go-to reference.

This is standard KJV-Only rhetoric. And then after you're finished with doing what your kind do best (and that is, not interacting with any of the materials against your view), you'll run off like a wounded wolf (or the coward ChosenbyHim), and then when the dust is settled you'll stick your little head out and start the entire debate back up again.

Well my distsguinced young man, that is admirable. But, my friend if you engage in such an atrocity as the NIV. You will find it erroneous as compared to the text that you have laid out. It supports the serpent seed, It negates the cross. If you analyse it spiritually and not carnally, it would be heresy. It is much paraphrased as the living, and amplified are. It could not be considered a study bible by any student with a high school or middle school education. It is taking aim at the uneducated and sticking money in there pockets by oppressing the poor, If you read the KJ thats is highly shunned upon.

I actually own many different versions and read almost all of them including the kjv and the nkjv, they do the same wonderful things for me.

No one is an Idiot if they read the bible. I do not mean to call you an idiot, But its like the bible for dummies. Just like dos for dummies or excel for dummies. Or programming in C for dummies. If you want the truth go to the KJ and Strongs, you can't go wrong with that. The New Idiots version is just that, bible for dummies.

Its funny how you are talking about the bible while displaying pride, arrogance and insulting people. Which of those traits did you learn in the bible that you seem to think so highly of yourself for picking the 'right one'? Apparently whichever one you choose isn't working considering your attitude and actions.

You are admitting that you cannot understand the language. As I said my 16 teen year old has no problem with KJ and it has helped in school.

what does shaking it with my shorty teach, wow, imagine the Song of Solomon in redneck and soul.

Unfortunately, the only thing Kerry can do is respond with rhetoric. It's quite obvious he can't interact with any of the objections thus far or else he would have tried. He knows his arguments are weak, and this is why the only thing he can do is to respond like sore losers always do. The only words of advice I can give you are the words of Corporal Jackson in the film, Saving Private Ryan: "Hey, Upham, careful you don't step in the... (you know the rest)."

it seems to me you are being very judgemental and very offensive. sure the NIV may be somewhat overly translated, but for those like me with adhd and who just have a hard time understanding the KJV does not mean those who read the NIV or NLV for that matter are dumb! (I have all 3 versions and find the NLV easiest to read) does it really REALLY matter what "version" as long it is still Gods word? I even have "the message". I read and have read them all. You need to really think about the way you say things and just how idiotic you were being by that comment.

I pray God gives you eyes to see and ears to hear.

It's common in KJV-onlyism. -> http://www.kjvonly.org/james/may_great_inconsistency.htm

"Insulting remarks are perhaps made concerning the scholarship of those who do not agree. It also helps the cause to add a few derogatory remarks about the unbelief of those who do not accept the “providentially preserved Word of God.”"

Again, this is nothing new. You still have not responded to my objections from the last time you posted this very same material. You argue that these verses are omitted, but in doing so, you're holding the KJV as the standard and comparing all others to it. As I've said before, if one were to assume the Nestle-Aland GNT were the standard then the KJV has many additions.
