1) God gave us His word through people, He did not violate the personality of the person writing - the Bible is written by shepards, kings, fisherman, and other different people. The Bible was written over 1500 years and is one consistent message. Prophecies, i think the count is 800 have been given in scripture most have been fulfilled, and there are some yet to come
external evidences of the Bible being more than just a book
#number 1 selling book of all time - NY times takes it off the list because there would never be a number 1 selling book besides the bible, ever
#Secular - people who do not believe God, agree that there is nothing that can match the Bible in Historical accuracy for the history of that area - persians, meads, israel, etc
#number 1 hated and attacked book of all time - countless people have tried and failed, or got Saved trying to discredit the Bible
#number 1 supported/studied book of all time - the classes, literature based off of it, colleges built to study it etc
#number 1 preserved text - we have 5500 manuscripts within 100 years of all the New testament books of the Bible, as well as countless manuscripts of the old testament in hebrew and in aramaic

Question 2 - The Bible is written extremely plain - The gospels were written by uneducated fishermen. The Bible tells you why the world is the way it is, who God is, how to know God, how to be saved from His wrath for your sin, and the future of all mankind.

Question 3 - Christ is a title - Jesus is a personal name

hope it helps

What version of the Bible are you reading? The Bible has versions. I'll give you an example.

[h=3]Ephesians 6:13[/h]King James Version (KJV)

[SUP]13 [/SUP]Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Ephesians 6:13Living Bible (TLB)

[SUP]13 [/SUP]So use every piece of God’s armor to resist the enemy whenever he attacks, and when it is all over, you will still be standing up.

They are the same scripture. One comes from King James and the other from the Living Bible. I don't recommend King James right away because it is difficult to read but I think the mature Christian should use it. Know one thing. This site has a lot of opinions on God and his word. People will get into debate over versions. Pray ask God to send you something easier for you to read. If you go to BibleGateway.com they have the Bible on computer and you can look at all the versions.

In those days, they said the name of the person and what he referred as. Like John the baptist. Some called Jesus the son of David since he branched from David. Now we have surnames to identify a person and their origin.

1) Because it is the "inspired" Word of God to man as recorded by those the Holy Spirit inspired to record His Word for man.

2) I suppose it depends on the translation.....don't know which you are trying to understand......I do well with the KJV and the CJB, but I would be lost trying to understand either the Hebrew or Greek texts.

3) In Scripture, both Jesus Christ, and Christ Jesus, as well as Jesus the Christ, and Jesus alone, and Christ alone appear.

The personal name of Jesus followed by the title Christ may call attention to the person himself and that he is the one who became the Anointed One of God. This occurred when he reached about 30 years of age, was baptized in water, and was anointed with God’s spirit visibly observed in the form of a dove descending upon him. (Mt 3:13-17) This is the point Peter made at Pentecost: “God made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus,” evidently recalling the expression he had heard from the lips of Jesus, who first used the term “Jesus Christ.” (Ac 2:36-38; Joh 17:3) This expression “Jesus Christ” is also used in the opening and closing words of the Christian Greek Scriptures.—Mt 1:1; Re 22:21.
On the other hand, putting the title ahead of the name and saying “Christ Jesus” instead of “Jesus Christ” places greater emphasis on the office or position held by Jesus. It focuses attention primarily on the office, secondarily on the office holder, as in saying King David or Governor Zerubbabel. It would remind one of the singular official position Jesus holds as the Anointed One of God, an honored position not shared by others of his followers who are also anointed. Only God’s beloved Son is entitled “Christ Jesus.” Paul used this expression in his first inspired letter. (1Th 2:14)

......and therein (in my opinion) lies the problem.....

You were relying on your "wisdom" to reveal the meaning of Scripture, rather than the Holy Spirit to reveal the meaning. It is a time consuming process to achieve understanding of the Word of God. It is a growth process that begins with the new believer becoming a disciple of Christ, and does not end until we are at Home with Him.

If you stop reading.........you stop learning..........if you stop breathing........you stop living...........

google some more, and find a translation that you might find easier to read........just saying.......and may I ask: Are you a Christian? Just wondering.......[edited]

I see by your profile that you profess to be a Christian...........so, read His Word.......learn of Him......find some way to do this....it is for your benefit, not His.....

God in a way opens the eyes of a person in a saving way - which opens their heart/mind/soul to the Bible

1. A "word" is something spoken or written in an a best effort to reveal something in the mind. But limited by the ability of the other person to "hear" that "word"
You know that phrase "words cannot explain"? That phrase is used by David in some of his psalms when he says "selah!"
God could only describe His intent to save mankind to a certain degree, until He made His "word" of salvation become a visible and interactive human being by the birth and life of Jesus.
If God just says He'll save you, you are left wondering things like "how?" and "when?" and maybe even "from what?".
If someone touches you and supernaturally removes your terminal illness, looks you in the eyes and reminds you that your sins are forgiven, now that word has gotten real.

2. To hide things God knows from people who do not love others enough to physically help them, rather than just vainly preach. Experience interprets. Wisdom and understanding are lesser things that come with experience and just help out.

3. "Christ" means anointed one. "Jesus" means God will save.
That man is anointed with God's power to save. He can heal, cast out demons, raise the dead.
Not much difference in which order you say or write them, it's the same thing either way.
A person's "name" is what they "are all about"

okay, well I am not sure what version that is but I will tell you what it means. What I find fascinating about God's word is that it's a mystery or like a puzzle so I'll give you some hints. Jesus is the word(the bible) the bible and Jesus brought Light (or understanding) in humanity (or the world)
[h=3]John 1[/h]King James Version (KJV)

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
[SUP]2 [/SUP]The same was in the beginning with God.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
[SUP]4 [/SUP]In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

This is real spiritual. It's okay that it is a little hard to understand. Keep trying, try reading other place too. For instance how about the Psalms. Maybe you could relate to some of them. Psalm 40:1

[h=3]Psalm 40:1[/h]Living Bible (TLB)

40 I waited patiently for God to help me; then he listened and heard my cry.

First, let me tell you the Bible is a book made of books. I believe there are 66 books in the Bible. The Bible is in two parts. One is called the Old Testament(before Jesus) and then there is the New Testament (Jesus is born ...and his ministry.) Now there is a lot more to it. But that should help a little. The Psalms are a book and they were written by a King named David he loved poetry and music. Do you have a way to get your own Bible? Do you have any Christian friends could they loan you a Bible if you PM me I will personally send you one.

Hi there Eminemj, 1) it is called the word of God because it is the word of God:

2 Timothy 3:16-17 KJV
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: [17] That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

2 Peter 1:20-21 KJV
Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. [21] For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

2) The Bible is written in a way to where the light of the Gospel can shine through to any lost person's heart. While at the same time, most of the Bible, the lost man will just not be able to understand since for one thing the Bible is a Spiritual Book and it is Spiritually discerned by the Holy Spirit:

1 Corinthians 2:13-14 KJV
Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. [14] But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them , because they are spiritually discerned.

A lost person may learn a lot of the facts of the Historical Accounts contained in the Holy Bible, but he just won't be able to get any deeper understanding of the word of God until he gets saved.

3) The Bible says both:

1 Corinthians 16:24 KJV
My love be with you all in Christ Jesus. Amen.

2 Corinthians 1:1 KJV
Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, unto the church of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints which are in all Achaia:

Anointed means a couple of things. It means that one is chosen by divine appointment. In other words, that God Himself has chosen said person for His purposes. We also anoint with oil in some churches and the priests in the Old Testament did so. It's a sign of sanctification (being set apart) and consecration (belonging solely to something/someone).

Well the purpose they had called Him the Messiah in Hebrew- Greek the Christ and which all means the He were the Anointed one because that was what he was known as after the resurrection except for Peter, he already had recognized that he was the Christ. There were many people in those days had the name Jesus. But to distinguish one from another, they add what that person was known for. They didn't had surnames like we have in our times, and so basically it doesn't matter which way you call Him, the Christ Jesus or Jesus the Christ and even Jesus the son of David (And which in our times would be Jesus Davidson), He will still answer to you.

In those days God anointed them to be King. So they were waiting for their new anointed King by God to come.
