Mykim - I'm tired and aching and want to tell you your self indulgence is worse than your indulgence with porn and what difference does it make -

Then Rachelsedge makes such gentle plea's and Gracelikerain such straight advice and Jim jimmers and JCCcomputer - all with soulful Godly patience and wisdom......and it humbles me. They are better people than me.

Then I think - what if you're the one that brings a thousand souls to Christ? What if you're the one who changes the man who changes the souls of a million? Who am I who is tired and aching and offers nothing?

None of these challenges you face mean anything Mykim - nothing. They are lies to make you think you are alone.

I just pray tonight you look through this dark glass and see clearly tonight. And heed the advice of these fine people who are better than me.
I liked this, but not because I think I'm better than you, but quite the opposite: because of your humble attitude and the fact that you still gave sound advice, in your humbleness, and have done so in more than just this thread. I'm sure the others who liked your post would agree. :) You are kind!

(Wow, I guess humbleness is a word, Chrome isn't underlining it in red to tell me I'm a word-heathen!)

Just delete the porn. Read a copy of the Bible. (not on screen) and follow what Jesus says. If you did accept Him as your Lord and Saviour, then act like it. If you feel that you need help with it, go step out of your comfort zone and find help. I'm pretty sure there is someone close by or at least near enough that would be willing to help, if, at all, that you're willing to help yourself as well.

Have you ever read the New Testament? It sounds crazy. Look at the path Jesus walked. Soak in what He preached. Look where he ended up? Do you honestly think people online are willing to give up their lives for people who walk about? Can you really absolutely and honestly love the next person you see?

Cause the way I see it, it's all or nothing. Jesus broke it down to loving God, and loving those around you. If you are really following Him as your Lord, I'd suggest humbling yourself, as a slave and servant, before YOUR King.

It's painful stripping down and washing the feet of those who may betray you with a kiss. But you know? That crazy guy did, and made history.

Like i said, I have only recently accepted jesus christ as my savior. Before that, I was angry at god and resented him. As for people, there are hardly any in my life. I am pretty much isolated. I am in front of my computer in my room 24/7
Have you ever done an unpaid internship?

Have you applied at McDonalds?

Are you involved in a church community? This may sound rather cynical, but a church is an excellent place to network, especially events outside of the usual Sunday service.

I have done internships but they did not help me much.

I have not bothered to apply to minimum wage jobs because I could not even support myself with the low wages. It is also extremely demeaning to work next to high school kids.

I have recently started to attend a local church again.

I am going to go to a support group to try and deal with my addiction. Knowing that I am going to die a kissless virgin and my strong urges makes it really difficult for me to quit completely.

I have read some of the new testament, but need to read it more thoroughly.

What was your attitude going into the internships? Was it "This is great, I'm going to learn a lot!" or was it "Meh, this likely isn't going to help"? How you go into it can make a lot of difference.

I have not bothered to apply to minimum wage jobs because I could not even support myself with the low wages. It is also extremely demeaning to work next to high school kids.
A job is a job. If you have literally no money, you don't get to pick and choose. You take what you can get. Besides, how do you think you move up in a company? Unless people have prior experience, very rarely do they just apply for a high-ranking job without having either worked for the company before or worked their way up to get to that point. Maybe you start off at a McDonalds, only part time, but then because you have a great work ethic and you're polite, you get moved up to full time, and then you get promoted to shift manager, and then store manager, and then you can take that managing experience to somewhere less "demeaning".

Speaking of demeaning,I worked on a lift station this weekend. Made me question demeaning of my life!

It was an accounting internship, but I did not end up majoring in accounting so it was not too useful for my career path.

actually, i did apply to a position at wholefoods but i think the hiring manager was concerned about my long gap of unemployment. I did not get that job

also, i try not to look it but i have been told by many hiring managers that I appear depressed and gloomy. So that does not help me either.

A job at McDonald's doesn't pay enough and it's demeaning to work next to high school kids. Having your aunt support you is not demeaning? Telling strangers online how ugly you think you are, that you are addicted to porn and that the only sex you can have is with a prostitute is not demeaning?

You are obviously an intelligent person, mykim. You know you could beat this if you wanted to. You know you are your own worse enemy in this situation, don't you?

You have two choices:
Continue to assist satan in beating you up; or
CHOOSE to stand up, turn off the computer, find a way to earn an honest dollar, get in the Word/prayer/to church, REACH OUT to other people (become involved in something other than the problems that are giving you tunnel vision) and trust God to bring you out of this.

There is a first step you have to take. You know what it is. Take it.

What people are saying to you here may seem harsh, but please believe what we have said to you is out of genuine concern. You don't have to continue to live like this unless you choose to.

There are a LOT of women out there...a LOT of women...who could and would look past sweaty hands and the portrait you paint of yourself to a heart that loves the Lord, but you have to pull yourself up and get out there. I dare you to prove me wrong. :)

God bless you. Praying for you. :)

And so the ugly truth has been revealed.
For someone who claims to think so lowly of himself, you sure seem to think highly of yourself.
A minimum wage job next to high school kids is exactly what you need.
Can't make a living off of that? Get two.
As has been said, "Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity."
Many unsuccessful people have made a lifestyle out of making excuses for everything.
Will you be one of them?

I am pretty sure I am cursed when it comes to jobs. At this point my long time of unemployment and my gloomy demeanor makes my flunk job interviews. Also, I tend to be a horrid worker. I was fired at a dish washing job for being too slow, and I could not even master the POS system of a restaurant i used to work at. I am a certified personal trainer but i cannot get work in that field either. I would love work but just can't seem to get or hold a job.

I know that i am my worst enemy. It does not help that i hate myself either. I did go to church today, and the sermon was a bit comforting, but as soon as I was back at home, I just felt awful.

From my brief and limited experience with women, most don't even make eye contact with me and all of them are grossed out by my hands. That's why i hate handshakes.

There is nothing we can say here that will make you want to stand up and be better than you are permitting yourself to be, but you seem to know that. I hope you will read and re-read what has been posted here until you allow it to sink in, and know that people are praying for you, but will not encourage self-loathing.

You are probably right about women not making eye contact. Women are attracted to confidence probably more than anything else, no matter what the man looks like. Just something to keep in mind.

And so the ugly truth has been revealed.
That's actually why I asked the question. I've never had to work at McDonalds specifically, and recently I have worked with people Members of Parliament and former CEOs. I have also worked with high school students (and hope to again one day), and I can confidently say that I am glad that they honour me with their friendship. I've still never held a job that pays more than minimum wage.

It honestly sounds like this thread is one giant trolling fest.

Then do it for the reference you will receive upon completion of the work period. I have no career ambitions in my internship area, but I took it because it's something to put on the CV and if you are an effective and amiable worker you can acquire a letter of reference for future employment opportunities.

I am trolling because I detest minimum wage jobs? ok. Minimum wage jobs are a waste of time. Most don't even give full time positions and the work is so unfullfilling that I end up getting fired anyway. I have a personal training certification so I would rather work a job like that, but i can't get work in that field.

I teach dance as a hobby and work out a LOT. You do realize that a positive attitude is a HUGE part of training, right? Do you think your demeanor is playing a part in your inability to find work in this area?

all of the interviewers say that my lack of experience is the problem. But yeah my demeanor probably does not help either.

Are there any more internships you could do? Job shadowing? Volunteering? All of those help with experience.

the last internship i had was at the marketing company ended up working for. Got laid off after a year though. Job shadowing could be useful, but i don't know what i want to do anymore since everything i do ends up in failure.

This may shock you but girls look PAST looks the moment they see an honest heart, most girls. Christian girls? Yes. They do. They want, more than anything else, as, looks is simply a thing that's obvious, IS a heart that's after God and contrite and honest and living for Him.

Are you living for Him, MyKim ?????

YOU are His. :) God can DELIVER you from things, too, the moment YOU want to be delivered. The Lord leads. Forget ALL about your so-called things wrong with YOU, they are NOT wrong in God's eyes and, in today's edge, there are SO MANY Twentysomethings living with their parents. YOU are not alone living with mom and dad. Just KEEP having faith in Christ and keep living your life for Him.

God will find you a great job in His time for you, in the meantime, like I told zeroturbulance a couple years ago, just go volunteer somewhere, like a job type place you want to get in, GO work at a homeless shelter one day a week CONSISTENTLY, be helpful around the house with mom and dad as those things.

ALL those things, look good on a resum`e and remember God's got ya !!! ! You could be plummeting from an airplane on a skydive jump and your parachute don't open, and, your back-up chute don't open either !! And, God's STILL got ya and He will --I don't know how--to Earth safe :) STay with Him, bro. "...you follow Me." John 21:22
