The Sabbath is an eternal commandment established by the Lord the seventh day of the Creation,
and it happens the seventh day, not the first.

It is a divinely appointed day that is especially blessed by the Lord. For us, it expresses the idea that God created us and we belong to Him. We work for six days, conscious of being children of God, but on this day we rest from our labors and give ourselves completely to God's care, not doing for ourselves at all, but letting God take over. It is a day when God renews us and strengthens us for our work for the other six days.

Created for man and not man for the sabbath. What does keeping sabbath do? Christ is my sabbath, I rest in Him. Because, without Him there is no rest.

No, I believe it is specific day because he named it with a number. It is the 7th day so we know its not the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th,5th, 6th, being the only other choices. I know when I began to honor the Sabbath the Lord did miracles with my finances because my husband no longer worked on Saturdays. We made it completely Holy. It still is a blessing to me. I look forward to every Sabbath.

The Sabbath is a blessing to mankind and the only Command that shows it was incorporated by the being who created all that is!

Ezekiel 20:12, "Moreover, I also gave them My Sabbaths, to be a sign between Me and them, that they might know that I am Yahweh Who sanctifies them."

*Sign is Word #226, Hebrew Dictionary, Strong's Exhaustive Concordance, meaning mark, token, sign, consent, flag, evidence of consent.

Exodus 13:9, "And it shall be as a *sign to you upon your hand and as a memorial between your eyes, that Yahweh's Law shall be in your mouth; for with a strong hand Yahweh has brought you out of Egypt."

this is the mark I want
, there is another mark out there that I dont want.

The Sabbath is an eternal commandment established by the Lord the seventh day of the Creation, and it happens the seventh day, not the first.

Eternal commandment? Was not the sabbath created for man and not man for the sabbath? Was not the reason why Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath is because His righteousness exceeded the keeping of the sabbath day?

When did the disciples gather together to break bread in having communion?

Acts 20:[SUP]7 [/SUP]And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.

What day did they assemble when they were to take up collection for the church as an order from Paul to all churches?

1 Corinthians 16:1Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, even so do ye. [SUP]2 [/SUP]Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.

So this is why keeping of the sabbath day is not an eternal commandment for Jesus Christ is our resting place. He is greater than the sabbath day.

Romans 14: [SUP]4 [/SUP]Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand. [SUP]5 [/SUP]One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. [SUP]6 [/SUP]He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks. [SUP]7 [/SUP]For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself. [SUP]8 [/SUP]For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's.

Colossians 2:[SUP]14 [/SUP]Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; [SUP]15 [/SUP]And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. [SUP]16 [/SUP]Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: [SUP]17 [/SUP]Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

So believers are free to regard the sabbath day as unto the Lord as they are free not to because they are the Lord's. If anyone thinks they HAVE to keep the sabbath day, then are they seeking to be justified by keeping that law? If so, they have fallen from grace, and have become debtor to so the whole law.

Romans 3:[SUP]26 [/SUP]To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. [SUP]27 [/SUP]Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. [SUP]28 [/SUP]Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

Galatians 2:[SUP]14 [/SUP]But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter before them all, If thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews? [SUP]15 [/SUP]We who are Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles, [SUP]16 [/SUP]Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. [SUP]17 [/SUP]But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid. [SUP]18 [/SUP]For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor. [SUP]19 [/SUP]For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God. [SUP]20 [/SUP]I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. [SUP]21 [/SUP]I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain....3:1O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? [SUP]2 [/SUP]This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? [SUP]3 [/SUP]Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh? [SUP]4 [/SUP]Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if it be yet in vain. [SUP]5 [/SUP]He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? [SUP]6 [/SUP]Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. [SUP]7 [/SUP]Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. [SUP]8 [/SUP]And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed. [SUP]9 [/SUP]So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham. [SUP]10 [/SUP]For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. [SUP]11 [/SUP]But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. [SUP]12 [/SUP]And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them. [SUP]13 [/SUP]Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: [SUP]14 [/SUP]That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith....[SUP]24 [/SUP]Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. [SUP]25 [/SUP]But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. [SUP]26 [/SUP]For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

There were many Sabbath days which one yall talking about? by the way there were years that were sabbath and even weeks. You lawyers sure don't know your law.

Luke 16:17, "But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one yodh of the Law to fail."

Daniyl 7:25, "And he will speak great words against Yahweh, and will wear out; mentally attack to cause to fall away, the saints of Yahweh, and think to change times; Yahweh's Feast Days, and Laws."

I was wondering, where do you sacrifice your lamb? it is unlawful to so except on the brazen altar before the temple and by a son Aaron. You must keep the whole law.

What profit is there in keeping law. What will circumcision do for me. So I go to church on Sunday, what does that prove? how good I am. No man is good no not one.

Will it save me? will break bondage? will deliver me from evil? what does the law do?

Enow: Eternal commandment? Was not the sabbath created for man and not man for the sabbath? Was not the reason why Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath is because His righteousness exceeded the keeping of the sabbath day?
Are you saying the reason not to keep the Sabbath is that Jesus was righteous? Doesn't make sense.

The disciples did lots of things, some of them on the first day of the week, but on the seventh they kept the Sabbath.

It is also true that when the disciples went to teach the gentiles, giving the gospel and the spiritual meaning of the gospel way way way outdid teaching a certain day to keep the Sabbath. Gentiles of that time worshipped their idols on the first day, changing the day wasn't important, but changing from worshipping idols as the disciples were teaching, knowing the gospel was important. You can keep the day they used, it doesn't keep you from knowing Christ. You can obey and live for God and still use Sunday.

It just seems to make a lot more sense to use the day God blessed, we are grown up now. Not people who are changing from worshipping idols.

Tent, where is your faith? in your actions of keeping law or Christ. You cannot have faith in both. That is double minded is not. You either have faith in your work or faith in Gods work. Gods ultimate works is the cross and He will accept nothing else.

To keep in the theme of the thread. The Sabbath is CHRIST.

Jesus fulfilled the law and that is why it is His righteousness apart from the law that is bringing us Home.

Are you saying the reason not to keep the Sabbath is that Jesus was righteous? Doesn't make sense.

Matthew 12:1At that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the corn; and his disciples were an hungred, and began to pluck the ears of corn and to eat. [SUP]2 [/SUP]But when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto him, Behold, thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the sabbath day. [SUP]3 [/SUP]But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him; [SUP]4 [/SUP]How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the shewbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests? [SUP]5 [/SUP]Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless? [SUP]6 [/SUP]But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple. [SUP]7 [/SUP]But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless. [SUP]8 [/SUP]For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.

The disciples did lots of things, some of them on the first day of the week, but on the seventh they kept the Sabbath.

Nowhere did Acts recorded that. Luke did report that the disciples did their evangelism on the sabbath day meeting in the Jewish synagogue. No way were they holding christian church services in there.

Nowhere in the NT was the observing of the sabbath day was to be kept, but instead Paul wrote otherwise in regards to any day which included the sabbath day because we are the Lord's as His righteousness is able to make us stand.

Romans 14:[SUP]4 [/SUP]Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth.

That means believers are free to worship on the sabbath day or any day as we are the Lord's just as they are free not to regard the sabbath day unto the Lord for we are the Lord's.

But Paul did give an order to the churches so that when they gather together on the first day of the week, to do their collection then.
