I don't preach at people what to wear nor do I really care what a stranger wears. However as someone who dressed a little daring when I was younger I can say, it can attract the wrong kind of attention. Unfortunately we live in a world where people do judge you on what you wear and some may take a really short skirt as a sign that, that person might be easy. I'm not saying that's always the case, but when you dress a certain way you may attract someone that doesn't have your best interests at heart.
The internet brings with it creeps and weirdos. When you put a picture of yourself making a duck face and wearing something that your Grandma wouldn't like you're apt to attract a certain type of person to try to contact you. I can say even with a cartoon as my picture on FB I've had a couple of strange men try to friend me. Uh no thanks. I've now hidden my profile and won't allow people I don't know to message me. It's a scary world people. I have a daughter when she's a teenager you can bet I'll be guiding her towards a more moderate dress.

I've been in Florida all week swimming in the ocean and having a great time at the beach with my family. I've been wearing a t-shirt and a knee length skirt (with knee length exercise shorts underneath ) even while swimming. I know everyone don't do things the same , but I don't think it would bring shame to the Lord what I have on. It's not hindered me from having fun for a second. I'm loving my life

Jesus said it was "finished", but we still have to accept Him and His guidance in our lives, submit our will to His and allow change to occur. I don't know that I've ever seen that happen overnight. Blessed are those for whom it does.

I am using an example from everyday life because of your human limitations. Just as you used to offer yourselves as slaves to impurity and to ever-increasing wickedness, so now offer yourselves as slaves to righteousness leading to holiness.
I completely agree with you. We have been made righteous by the obedience of Christ alone, but manifesting it is a process by all means. Everything you just said is so true.

If you're at the gym and you're thinking more about 'bedroom positions' than getting your work-out, you're doing it wrong. Draw some abs onto your chest with a permanent marker and then turn your attention back to your own exercises. Your mind will be consumed with brainstorming cleaning remedies for removing permanent marker from your body, rather than 'bedroom positions'. Get to it!

Ah..okay That sounds a little better. When I first read it, it seemed like you were trying to say that women who make the personal sacrifice of dressing less provocatively were doing it to gain brownie points.

I explained in the post that we weren't trying to earn brownie points when we behave righteously..I actually had worded it that when we do things for others we are doing it for God indirectly..but it's all for God..

I will never judge someone by what they wear, even in church, teach them? Definately. Judge? Never
A quick story to illustrate my point. One day a girl comes to my church she is dressed in a mini skirt and tube top, a leader goes to her and tells her that she cannot dress that way in the house of God and tells her to come back when she is representable. The girl leaves. What no ones knows until later is that girl was not a christian that she was suffering from depression and had just come out of a bad relationship, she had come to church looking for answers. Two weeks later she commited suicide.
So why not apporach the people who dress like they do and talk to them, become their friends and slowly teach them. Instead of making thread after thread discussing modesty. It would make a better use of your time.
