Am I the only woman around who doesn't find Matthew McConaughey attractive in the least bit ??? I don't have any physical preference that would make or break the attraction but if he just so happened to be a little pudgy I wouldn't complain. I'm thinking more Kevin James instead of Matthew McConaughey. Facial hair is a plus. Just saying.... :)

I'm not a fan of "pretty boys".

...er...

That's about all the preference I can think of right now.

WHY am I even IN this thread?!

I realise that Adam wasn't given a choice as there was no other women. My question was more to do with whether or not our ideals in what we want in a partner outweigh what God would want for us or even offer us.
I admit that our first impression of a person is by how they look. But is it possible for us to get past the outward appearance, and get to know the person within? Is it possible that God could change our ideals to match His? Which is more important in a long-term relationship: Appearance or personality?
I think definitely yes God can change our ideals, I suppose the only problem would be are we willing to give up our ideals and trust in him. For me personality, I always said we all grow old and wrinkly.

Often in our society, we are 'taught' what a perfect man or perfect woman looks like. I wonder, as single people, do you have a preference in how a potential partner looks? Blonde or brown hair? Tall or short?
I believe that we have these pre-conceived notions on what we want, that we miss what's right in front of us. Can you imagine, when God gave Eve to Adam, Adam turning to God and saying 'Sorry, she's not what I imagined my woman to look like. Try again.'? Or getting out his sketch pad and drawing a picture of his 'perfect' woman? Instead, God created Eve, as Adam's helpmate, and he accepted what God had for him.
What are your thoughts and comments?
I think God knew Adam's desires and gave him a helpmeet perfect for him :)

for me the only thing I require is someone taller than me. I have been with the short ones, the same height ones and as a tall women a taller man makes me feel like a woman...
I also want a man who even if he is overweight..(I can handle 50-60 lbs over even) wants to take care of himself..
I would like to exercise together etc..
I don't care if his hair is silver, brown or if he is bald :) (sometimes that's preferred :)
as long as he doesn't look slovenly.. (unless he's been working all day ;)

I find Kevin James very attractive.. esp since he has lost some weight but he's not skinny and I love that. :)

The perfect woman... hmmm.

1. She needs to be a real biological female... from BIRTH.

2. She needs to be... breathing.

: )

I am glad to hear this because I think mc conaughey is just wierd. He leads with his face somehow and I don't know what I mean by that other than his face would come thru a door way before his feet would. And he slinks and rubs his hands like he's just a few years away from being Mr. Burns from the Simpsons. He creeped me out in that movie about the submarine.

I knew I liked you Fenner.

I like Orlando Bloom's body type- slim but muscular, height is just right, face and cheek bones are just wonderful. Probably the closest to the ipedemy of male attractiveness for me.

Except for extremes in any direction, I have no body type preferences. Character is what makes a man (or woman, but I'm not dating them). I married a short, lean Mexican and much later fell in love with a tall, heavy Swede. My longest dating relationship was with a muscular Chinese guy, and the most fun I ever had was with a Nigerian tech genius. My friends joke that I have dated the rainbow. :)

Well, I like a guy who is a bit taller than me and is obviously hard-working. Guys that work hard are sooo attractive and has a much more intimate relationship with God than I do. Because if marriage happens he will be head of the home and I want him to hold me accountable to Christ. Also, I don't want to sound too critical, but I am not attracted to people who are of a different race. I just don't want a overly nerdy guy like Steve Urkel.
