One of Satan's devices in issuing fiery darts at us is to switch back & forth in the lust arena by desguising the present lust in ourselves which he is trying to have it take root in the sexual wise is by having us take a commercial break and go to the "hate & malice" arena, usually when we seek its fulfillment in the entertainment circle. We may not recognize it until whatever scenes in the movie or show takes its root in having us want to see the bad guy dead... to agree that the enemy deserves a painful death.
The Lord would point this out to me and I give Him the battle to deal with it by reminding me that I was a sinner myself and Jesus came to save sinners of whom I an chief and so whatever Hollywood is trying to program me into agreeing with, needs to be rejected right then & there. But Satan doesn't always sends his darts there. Sometimes he waits till afterwards when I am daydreaming and for some reasons my brain is going to worst case scenarios wherein I am repsonding in a very violent and malicious manner... and so once again, He points it out to me of my need of Him, and I yield to Him for His help to stop the run on the imagination and set my mind on better things or good imaginations.
The reason I am sharing this is that love and hate comes from the same place ( love being passion as to what the world really means when they use that phrase ) and so if we are to be free of lust from dwelling within our members as in keeping our minds off of it: it has to include loving violence or preferring violence in imaginary scenarios. If we cut off things that feed the flesh like porn, then do consider taking time away from video games or any provision of entertainment that you recognize as feeding the flesh with hate & malice.... so that the ongoing attacks with Satan's fiery darts to make us slip & fall in the sexual sins department would cease whe we stop feeding lust in all of its form.
James 4:1From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members? [SUP]
2 [/SUP]
Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. [SUP]
3 [/SUP]Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts. [SUP]
4 [/SUP]Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. [SUP]
5 [/SUP]Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy? [SUP]
6 [/SUP]But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith,
God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. [SUP]
7 [/SUP]Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. [SUP]
8 [/SUP]Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. [SUP]
9 [/SUP]Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. [SUP]
10 [/SUP]Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
So if anyone having a hard time in overcoming lust of its sexual nature, you might want to lean on Him for discernment that keeping your mind off of sex by going to "war" in your mind may not be an effective way to overcome lust that is being fed in your heart. I am not saying do not watch any violent program since we never know how a movie will go, let alone how it gets us involved in the drama, but if you are struggling with sexual lust, maybe christian songs will be a better escape.
Colossians 3:[SUP]
12 [/SUP]Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; [SUP]
13 [/SUP]Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. [SUP]
14 [/SUP]And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. [SUP]
15 [/SUP]And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. [SUP]
16 [/SUP]Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. [SUP]
17 [/SUP]And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

Ephesians 6:[SUP]
10 [/SUP]Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. [SUP]
11 [/SUP]Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. [SUP]
12 [/SUP]For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. [SUP]
13 [/SUP]Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

5 [/SUP]Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; [SUP]
6 [/SUP]And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled. [SUP]
7 [/SUP]Do ye look on things after the outward appearance? if any man trust to himself that he is Christ's, let him of himself think this again, that, as he is Christ's, even so are we Christ's.
Philippians 4:[SUP]
5 [/SUP]Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. [SUP]
6 [/SUP]Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. [SUP]
7 [/SUP]And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. [SUP]
8 [/SUP]Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. [SUP]
9 [/SUP]Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.
