So remembering His birth and fellowshipping together to commemorate His coming, is an abomination? I don't have a scrub to wash your defiled conscience clean. Seek God, you who transgress against a brother.
1Ch 13:7 And they carried the ark of God in a new cart out of the house of Abinadab: and Uzza and Ahio drave the cart.
1Ch 13:8 And David and all Israel played before God with all their might, and with singing, and with harps, and with psalteries, and with timbrels, and with cymbals, and with trumpets.
Now do you suppose that David chose a couple of flunkies to move the very Ark of God? These guys were most likely very respected and considered upright men. David and Israel went before the Ark singing and praising God with voice and instrument. And then...
1Ch 13:9 And when they came unto the threshingfloor of Chidon, Uzza put forth his hand to hold the ark; for the oxen stumbled.
Uneven ground? The oxen were startled? The passage does not say but Uzza put out his hand to steady the Ark and keep it from falling to the ground. What happened next?
1Ch 13:10 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzza, and he smote him, because he put his hand to the ark: and there he died before God.
God killed Uzza for touching the Ark. Why? There are reasons, God is not capricious...
Exo 37:1 And Bezaleel made the ark of shittim wood: two cubits and a half was the length of it, and a cubit and a half the breadth of it, and a cubit and a half the height of it:
Exo 37:2 And he overlaid it with pure gold within and without, and made a crown of gold to it round about.
Exo 37:3 And he cast for it four rings of gold, to be set by the four corners of it; even two rings upon the one side of it, and two rings upon the other side of it.
Exo 37:4 And he made staves of shittim wood, and overlaid them with gold.
Exo 37:5 And he put the staves into the rings by the sides of the ark, to bear the ark.
Deu 10:8 At that time the LORD separated the tribe of Levi, to bear the ark of the covenant of the LORD, to stand before the LORD to minister unto him, and to bless in his name, unto this day.
Only the sons of Kohath could bear the Ark...
Num 4:15 And when Aaron and his sons have made an end of covering the sanctuary, and all the vessels of the sanctuary, as the camp is to set forward; after that, the sons of Kohath shall come to bear it: but they shall not touch any holy thing, lest they die. These things are the burden of the sons of Kohath in the tabernacle of the congregation.
But even they could not touch it. God gave very explicit instructions on how to move the Ark. It was certainly not to be carried on a cart pulled by oxen an it was not to be touched. Is God particular about how He tells us to do things and what to do and what not to do?
Ask Uzza in the resurrection, he will more than confirm this scripture to you...
Deu 12:30 Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before thee; and that thou enquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise.
Deu 12:31 Thou shalt not do so unto the LORD thy God: for every abomination to the LORD, which he hateth, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters they have burnt in the fire to their gods.
Deu 12:32 What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.
Do you think that God doesn't care what we do and how we worship Him? He'll be glad to get whatever we deign to give Him? Any old method is good enough for God?
Act 9:31 Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied.
And the word for fear is...
G5401
φόβος
phobos
fob'-os
From a primary φέβομαι phebomai (to be put in fear); alarm or fright: - be afraid, + exceedingly, fear, terror.
A condemnation or those who are evil is...
Rom 3:18 There is no fear of God before their eyes.
Same word. Yes, to fear God is to hold Him in great awe and respect, but also to fear Him...
I am not afraid of my heavenly Father, He loves me and wants me to be His son, but I am afraid to dishonor or disobey Him...
Heb 10:31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
So I am afraid to dishonor God with the abominations of the pagans...
Eze 20:7 Then said I unto them, Cast ye away every man the abominations of his eyes, and defile not yourselves with the idols of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.
Eze 20:8 But they rebelled against me, and would not hearken unto me: they did not every man cast away the abominations of their eyes, neither did they forsake the idols of Egypt: then I said, I will pour out my fury upon them, to accomplish my anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt.
Lev 18:3 After the doings of the land of Egypt, wherein ye dwelt, shall ye not do: and after the doings of the land of Canaan, whither I bring you, shall ye not do: neither shall ye walk in their ordinances.
Now what are the feasts of the Lord?
Lev 23:4 These are the feasts of the LORD, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons.
Guess what, xmas ain't in there.
