I did not state that love and faith are not antinomian but they are merely delusional where the law is not adhered to. It is you who are claiming that they are against the law of Moses by seeking to distinguish the law of God from the law of Moses. There is only one law. To propose two separate laws is pure gnosticism and the bible makes no mention of it. Paul shows that good deeds are a law unto themselves, and conform with the conscience. Thus there is only one law.
Rom 2;14,15

Love and faith ARE the law. Show me one commandment in Moses' law that isn't fulfilled by love and/or faith.

What you've wanting to do is to supplant the law with your own conception of "love and faith." We see that all the time with antinomian Calvinistic churches - or perhaps I should say, formerly Calvinistic, as Calvin himself would have renounced them. That will never do. The law may be summarized by the concepts of love and faith, but the words are ultimately meaningless unless firmly anchored in concrete norms of human behaviour that is what the law provides.

If the Psalms were not for us today (in particular Psalm 82:6), why is it quoted by Jesus in John? Would you tear Psalms out of the bible?

You misunderstood me i love the psalm it was to make a point that the psalms are for us today and that ye are gods came from the psalm

What you want to do is supplant Christ's and the apostles' words with your own antinomian doctrine of moral law that subverts GOD's spiritual law.

Again, love and faith ARE GOD's spiritual law. Show me one commandment in Moses' law that isn't fulfilled by love and/or faith.

sHOW ME ONE COMMANDMENT THAT IS DONE AWAY BY GRACE

I am NOT going to read all you posted, I am so used to your excuses to continue in sin. Man HAS NO PART in sanctification, NONE! Absolutely NONE.... You have No idea still do you not Tdrew? Letme ask you, this....

All you people tell me how we have free will, and then two sentances later you will say we will always sin and fall short of the Glory of God! So where is my free will if I will to be holy and not sinner? Do i have a will NOT TO SIN, but I cannot have that will...

You say we have a free will, but I cannot stop sinning, so I only have one will and that is to sin? Come on, at least stick to one part... If i have a free will, can I will to NEVER sin? IF I cannot then I have no will... If I have no will I cannot will faith or sin.

If sin makes me a hell-going sinner, and faith makes me a heaven-going believer, then who will want to sin? Who really just want to sin becasue it is there will? How about you Isdaniel, do you want to sin? And you Tdrew and herosefromthedead? Whom of you WANT and WILL to sin? If it is faith that sets me apart from the sinners, how well is it eveident in out life? I am certainly NOT set apart if I even sin ONCE.... One sin makes me the same as ALL sinners... just because another person sins MORE , does not make him more a sinner than me doing sin once.... The difference between a saint and a sinner is SIN... One sin and the other does not!

If a saint sin ONCE, he is not a saint, but a sinner. Get this in yuor head now Tdrew... a person that is sanctified by God is SET APART FROM SIN INTO HOLINESS... Holiness is NO SIN.... Or it is not holy at all!\

Stop playing games, at least read what you post.... SAINTS ARE NOT PERFECT YET,, they still NEED this what you posted...

may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might.

Do you see that these people does not HAVE THE SPIRIT YET... and that they MAY know the hope.... That they may know the riches, and glorious inheritance IN THE SAINTS... and waht IMMEASURABLE POWER is towards a believer...

NOW GET THIS.,.... You posted this scripture..... TO THE WORKING OF HIS GREAT MIGHT....

Sorru my friend God gives us EVERY GRAIN of salvation... the calling is of God, the obedience to the fait his from God, the sanctification is from God, and the POWER AND SPIRIT is from God.... NOTHING OF US... even dying the old MAN is from God.... His Spirit leads us when we crucify the OLD MAN... Without HIS lead we CANNOT crucify the OLD MAN....

Do you even read the bible?

[You] Sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts : being ready always to give answer to every man that asketh you a reason concerning the hope that is in you, yet with meekness and fear. 1 Peter 3:15

Here's one; there are hundreds...
The flesh of his foreskin must be circumcised on the eighth day. Leviticus 12:3

1 corithians 7

18 Is any man called being circumcised? let him not become uncircumcised. Is any called in uncircumcision? let him not be circumcised.
19 Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God

Christ claimed the law of Moses as his own, so you're just splitting hairs.Mat 5:18. Luk 16:17. The only issue is that we are no longer in debt to the law for our justification (Gal 5;3) but its authority remains. The law is far more important than modern protestants make out. That is why so many protestant churches have a distinctly antinomian character. Calvinists have disparaged the law for far too long. Many Calvinist churches are apostate and can only be regarded as temples of paganism, with homosexuality prevalent and women usurping the place of men. Check out this article on some gay Methodist ministers.

ummm...Methodism (Wesley) is not Calvinism.

using the TULIP acronym (which isn't Calvin's anyway):

Methodism:

‘T’ – Total Depravity – Wesley rejected the idea (preferring “complete corruption”) until later in his ministry, when he accepted the thought of humanity’s complete rejection of God without Christ.

‘U’ – Unconditional Election – Wesley and most Methodists reject this premise outright. They believe that Christ died for “all” and He “does not wish that any would perish.”

‘L’ – Limited Atonement – Wesley and most Methodists believe in “unlimited atonement.” Not that Christ brought about universal salvation, but that all sins of all humanity have been atoned for by Christ.

‘I’ – Irresistible Grace – Wesley and most Methodists believe in “resistible grace.” Humanity can reject God’s grace simply by acting out of their total depravity (or complete corruption).

‘P’ – Perseverance of the Saints – Wesley and many Methodists believe that a believer saved by grace can sin to such an extent that that one can lose their salvation.

Is a lukewarm Christian saved by grace ?

hi Cobus
are you still teaching that God kills the human man (spirit) and Jesus takes up residence in the shell of that body?
in that case, you would be right - man would play no role in sanctification, since the man virtually ceases to exist.

he doesn't become a new man (still the same man God reconciled and Christ redeemed, but new)....he becomes a little god.

right?

are you saved, yet Cobus?

John 1
11He came to His own, and those who were His own did not receive Him. 12But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, 13 who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.

John 3:18
Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.

Romans 8:14
For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.

Romans 8:16
The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children.

let me be more specific which one of the ten commandments were done away with grace

You cannot have your cake (to look at and admire) and eat it too. You are either under the whole law of Moses, or you are not under any part of the law of Moses. You have no authorization to pick and choose which parts of it you want and don't want to follow.

Cursed is the one who does not confirm all the words of this law by observing them. And all the people shall say, ‘Amen!’ Deuteronomy 27:26

For all who rely on the works of the law are under a curse, because it is written: Everyone who does not continue doing everything written in the book of the law is cursed. Galatians 3:10

So either the whole law of Moses is fully in force, or it has been fully abrogated. And if it has been fully abrogated, then all things truly have been fulfilled.

For I assure you: Until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or one stroke of a letter will pass from the law until all things are fulfilled. Matthew 5:18

And [Jesus] said to [his disciples], These are My words that I spoke to you while I was still with you—that everything written about Me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets, and the Psalms must be fulfilled. Luke 24:44

We have already seen that a major commandment has been done away with (not just a letter or stroke of a letter):

The flesh of his foreskin must be circumcised on the eighth day. Leviticus 12:3

Therefore, all things as pertaining to the law have been fulfilled in Christ.

I concur that Methodism is certainly not hyper-Calvinism, which I regard TULIP as being, for "Calvinism" was further developed after Calvin's death into what I regard as hyper-Calvinism, by people like Beza, which does not necessarily reflect what Calvin actually taught. The main identification between Methodism and Calvinism is strong Trinitarianism, and early methodist preachers such as George Whitefield were Calvinist. Anyway my point equally applies to denominations such as United Reformed and Presbyterian Church (USA). It just so happens that those guys were in the news recently.

your reasoning is so laughable you canoot be under grace and keep the 9 commanments and leave out the sabbath . You are either wholly under grace or not you must do the whole grace thing that is disobey the other 9 commands also

Love of man and faith in GOD fulfills the righteousness required by all 10 commandments. You are right; I am wholly under grace.

Therefore, all things as pertaining to the law have been fulfilled in Christ.
This is so, and therefore it is the use to which the law is put, and not its authority, that has changed. Christians must not throw the baby, which are the spiritual commands and principles of the law, out with the bathwater, which are the commandments that relate solely to justification. Yet they are both part of the same law. The purpose of the law now is for edification but in that role it has not diminished in authority. Commandments that related solely to justification are now interpreted spiritually. Thus circumcision is now circumcision of the heart, and observing the sabbath is doing the work of God, although on a national level, the principle of rest every seventh day remains. Thus in Germany where the sabbath is kept, the economy is doing well. If one does not circumcise one's heart, or do the work of God, it's not going to go well for you.
