The communists in South Africa were amongst the first groups to recognize Africans as equal. Coincidentally they also did the same when in the U.S.

There never has been equality in the ideology of communism.
Just one form of tyranny for another.
Pure absolute propaganda...and christianity and communism are polar opposites. One cannot exist with the other.
They fought a disdainful ideology with another disdainful ideology.
Yet theirs was an equal opportunity ideology, I'm not trying to say communism is great! My only point is that its understandable that someone joined if they were black.
In 1996 Mandela supported, and pushed through, a very liberal abortion law, and didn't allow dissenters in the majority party to even vote.
Polls even showed that most South Africans were against this abortion bill.
But Mandela pushed it through, and signed it into law.
Since Mandela signed the law into effect, allowing abortion-on-demand (for girls of any age, including minors) it's estimated that approximately 10,000 African babies have been aborted WEEKLY. That's somewhere over ONE MILLION abortions since Mandela signed the legislation.
Very Christian thing to do, and great way to help your own country.
Every politician CLAIMS to be a Christian.
It isn't wise to assume you know everything about another country, or their leader, because you heard something on TV, or saw a cool movie.
Come on.
We can be a little more discerning can't we?
The abortion law that's killed over a million African babies is only one of many EXTREMELY un-Christian things Mandela supported and pushed into law. His words claim he was a Christian, but his actions, and legislation, simply do not back it up.
If you want to read about it, here's a link to a 1997 article from Christianity Today.
South Africa: Pro-life Activists Deplore Liberal Abortion Law | Christianity Today
Hey, I want black Africans to be free and self-determined just like everyone else...
but good intentions just don't turn a politician like Mandela into a saint.
He just wasn't.
We need to be a little more discerning than the rest of the world.
Be careful who you worship as a hero.
A staunch supporter of communism ??? he fought the people's rights under an oppressive government.
the Nobel is a joke...Yassar Arafat got one.
Mendella was offered freedom from prison if he would renounce terrorism. He did not.
Look at some of the ''dignitaries'' at his funeral. Not exactly a nice group of people.
President Obama shaking hands with Raul Castro.
Some amazing stuff.

Well, I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree. It is not something new that freedom fighters are often branded as 'terrorists' by the oppressive ruling government.
