Why, when we clarify here that Paul is speaking of his own preferences, it's heresy and twisting, yet when we approach the Scripture where Paul says that he wishes all remain single as he is single, it's acceptable to differentiate between God revelation and Paul's preference?
Why did you only quote part of 1Cor. 7:8-9?

How many pastors here are appointed by God? Remember God appointed you to perfect the saints. So if you are a PASTOR you need already to be a perfect MAN to perfect a saint.

God does NOT appoint ALL people to be preachers/teachers. It is DANGEROUS grounds if you want to preach/teach. Do you know that you put yourself up to a STRICTER judgement when you preach/teach?

Let me give you all some advice..... DO NOT ALL STRIVE TO BE PREACHERS/TEACHERS.... James warns about this. And note... He says BRETHREN.... My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.

Oh boy the plot thickens....

Alexis, love you my child, you are way younger than my two eldest daughters, and one of them CAN SING.... Even the songs we write for God has to be 100% Scriptural. I jave not written one Yet, but I have lots of Truth in me already. I will soon write my first Song to God.

Lexi i want to share one miricle with you.... When I started reading the Bible I bought a electronic Bible and loaded it on a small laptop. Then when I got to Ps 119, up to verse 6, I started to type in word to God how I felt about our relationship.... I typed for about 90 minutes and when I read on, I discovered I wrote the whole Psalm. And I NEVER read it before....

You see Lexi, God is just so Truthful and Faithful. He worked on David, and David wrote the Psalm, and God works on me, and I could reproduce the same RELATIONSHIP. My dear young child, you truly have the right attitude to KNOW God. I pray God will write HIS Truth on your heart, and that you will always accept the truth of God, with a PURE SOUL AND HEART. Amen!

Zonie, do you wear a veil to church? Stephan do you pray with a hat on your head? EVER?

I ask Angela, are you perfect to perfect the saints in your church, do you have saints in your church...

All these well educated people, please post the definition of SAINT for us?
What a beautiful sharing of your miracle from God.
Thank you for such kindness.

Love you,
lexi

Why did you only quote part of 1Cor. 7:8-9?
I didn't quote anything from the Bible at all in reference to this, so I don't know why you're saying I only quoted part of it. And, if you go back and read through my posts, you'll see my reasoning. I'm not going to repeat myself. That will just add more pages to this thread. :)

God has called MANY women to pastor churches in America today:

From hartsem.edu website:
The Faith Communities Today 2010 national survey of a fully representative, multi-faith sample of 11,000 American congregations found that 12% of all congregations in the United States had a female as their senior or sole ordained leader. For Oldline Protestant congregations this jumps to 24%, and for Evangelical congregations it drops to 9%.
Several traditions, of course, do not ordain women (e.g., Roman Catholic) and in some traditions the leader of a congregation is a non-ordained, ‘volunteer” (e.g., Mormon). The congregations of such traditions are included among the FACT2010 congregations without a female as head or senior religious leader.
Wave 1 (1998) of the National Congregations Survey found that 10% of its overall sample had a female as head or senior religious leader; Wave 2 (2006) found 8%. The 2001 Pulpit and Pew survey of American pastors found that 12% were female, this jumping to 20% for Oldline Protestant congregations and dropping to around 2% for Evangelical. A 2009 Barna survey reports that 10% of Protestant congregations are led by females, and the 2008 Mainline Protestant Clergy Voice Survey found that 20% of Oldline Protestant congregations were led by females.
None of these congregational surveys track the gender of ordained female clergy that might serve as associate or assistant pastors, and it must also be remembered that ordained female clergy can serve in roles other than as pastoral leader. Common wisdom is that one would find slightly higher percentages of female clergy in such roles.
A more historic picture:
According to a study done in the mid 1990's by Barbara Brown Zikmund, Adair Lummis and Patricia Chang there are 16,321 female clergy in 15 Mainline and conservative Protestant denominations. This means that roughly 12 percent of clergy in those denominations are female.
The distribution is not equal across denominations however. The more theologically liberal groups such as the Unitarian Universalist Association and the United Church of Christ lead in the percent of their clergy who are female with 30 and 25 percent respectively.
Most theologically conservative groups in the list - the Southern Baptist Convention, the Free Methodist Church and the Assemblies of God all have less that 10 percent of their pastors being female.
The table below gives the total clergy and percent of female pastors as of 1994.

You know I always love you!
also I love to sing...

Kinda off subject but maybe not.. I have a horribly bad stutter.... Takes me like a week to read a sentence out loud. Okay it's bad but not that bad but I can sing without stuttering..

So singing is amazing for me but speaking is certainly of great significance! Especially when it's quite difficult.

I know that's not your point just where my thoughts went

Love you sister!
hey, sometimes it be like that. you just have to do with the cards you are dealt.

i have terrible speech myself. been diagnosed with a speech impediment myself. its ok tho. it doesnt make you less of a person. it can be frustrating for speaking to be such a project when you see other people all day speaking for long periods of time effortlessly.

but always remember, Moses had bad speech also. that is why his brother was always with him to translate :D

Men who stand up for women? Hypocrisy and hate? You've got to be joking.

I'd agree that a coven of witches who did not allow female witches would be rather odd, but considering the divine order laid down in 1 Cor 11, which is God over Christ over Man over Woman (over child), then your comments are more that a little obscure.

i didnt even read this. thanks to Gjolll for bringing this to my attention.

hate and hypocrisy? *facepalm*

the women in this thread, aside from alexis and i think 1 other 1 in here, they sound like todays homosexuals. the same arguments apply.

its not us telling you, we are just relaying scripture that was inspired by God. not man. not me, not him. not us. but by GOD.

all the things you are saying about the things "we" say, you are really saying about God. you might want to reevaluate your perception on things before coming to a concrete conclusion... because you can be wrong.. which in this case, you are.

you let your emotions and pride cloud your vision and understanding. you will have to clear that up.

Well.

Let me think what I saw in this thread.

OH right.

Single women raise most convicts. Women cannot enforce morality and are libertine and encourage homosexuality.

Men are to rule over women. Etc. Etc.

*facepalm*

And thanks for confirming all the hate and hypocrisy btw.

I didn't even talk about women preachers in church yet.. But nice to know where people come from.
Misogyny is alive and well.

At least you're smart enough to not acknowledge that you would be men who stand up for women.

Thanks for the honesty ^_^

And I am over and out.
Peace.

Women cannot enforce morality and are libertine and encourage homosexuality.
In the UK, 70% of divorces are initiated by women. The massive rise of homosexuality is commensurate with the massive rise of single parent families and maritally dysfunctional families where women are often dominant.

Women need to be aware of their limitations. They are frequently incapable of providing the moral education and leadership required by man. I speak from experience as the son of a woman who divorced her husband for no good reason.

Let's put the argument in reverse. What is it that makes a woman presume she is capable of instructing a man in morality?

There have always been rebels against God, and there will always be women who rebel against men. Rebellion against men is rebellion against God, and is never going to bring about holiness.

Unfortunately we live in an age where the atheist philosophy of equality has supervened religion, especially in the Occident. Religion commences for women in understanding the distinctions between the sexes.

before she misinterprets this, you will have to explain to her how rebelling against man is rebelling against God.

mystdancer50 are you a spiritual person? Paul says if you are you will know, YOU WILL KNOW this is God's will that women to not preach in church.

Can I bear children if I am in Christs Body (the church)? Can a woman preach when she is in Chrsit Body (the church)? Nope even if we have equel spiritual holiness the offices is STILL FOR MEN... Wman in the Body of Christ should show there GODLYNESS with this...

But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.

Please do not get confused, works and words are two different things....

It is clear. I CANNOT take the plae of Jesus in the Body and a woman cannot take the place of a man in the Body. Jesus makes the order VERY clear in this Scripture... For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.

For I am the glory of Jesus, and my wife is MY GLORY, I can NEVER be her glory. I am the head of her, as Jesus is the head of me. If you say she and I are equal in the head-state, then why am I and Jesus nevr equal in the head-state? Can Jesus be my glory, or will I always be HIS? Then the wife can also NEVER be the glory of the man.... NEVER. Now that should be enough to reproof the ignorant, hard necked and stubborn generation and gender.

I love my wife as Jesus loves me, there is no stronger and purer love. But she is an angel so she would never want to be in my place as PRIEST OF THE HOUSE AND IN CHURCH the head of her family, that is why she covers her head when we pray and worship..... RESPECTING MY POSITION GOD APPOINTED ME TOO!!!!! GOD APPOINTED ME NO MAN AND NO WOMAN OR INSTITUTION.

And, what also makes a man have to be PERFECT, as you put it, in caps, even, cobe, that only a perfect MAN, as you also put in caps, makes a person into a perfect SAINT, which, you also put in caps.

Why is that, cobe?

Why does a pastor have to be a PERFECT man and what is a 'saint?'

And. I'm not done yet, to imperfectperfection or ginoble, what, of my graph, of ALL those women who ARE pastoring in churches today?/? ! What of them :)

Are they ALL in the wrong? Are they ALL against God's word, all
(See, cobe, I am pretty good at caps too :D )

You do the math, or, I can. I'll start, 12% of 5758 is roughly 600 WOMEN PASTORS in Baptist Ameica Church alone !! :)

not sure how the number of female pastors has any relevancy, honestly.

on a side note: i never been so engaged and hooked on a thread in my life. this has me hooked and it turned into something i had no intention for it to.

Give it a shot, I know you can, it many not be a perfect response, but that's OK, why do you think I posted the graph of around 5,000+ pastors in the USA in that graph alone leading CHURCHES in the USA, preaching and teaching to BOTH men and women, imperfectperfection ? :)

Did God call them, you think? Are they all on their own leading churches outside of the will of God?

What do you think?

I'm always glad to help a brother out :)

do i think? no. scripture clearly states for women NOT to.

worldly numbers =/= Gods law

you act as if people dont break Gods laws.. christians even. so just because a christian does something, even if it goes against scripture, does it change Gods law because they are christians? we dont have that type of power. we dont change Gods laws... satan deceives man to overlook and twist Gods laws.

Not picking a side just a thought... GreenNnice you are my buddy... Just not seeing the numbers as relevant to it being God's teachings
Groups that many say are cults like JW have pastors so to me saying the churches have this many ministers and pastors doesn't say that they are called by God. However my statement defeats itself because it also doesn't say they aren't...
Just not sure saying a pastor does says it proves it's God's will

Does that make sense or am I not reading the posts correctly?
