What is going on in this forum? People have lost their minds! The same threads being posted, trolls being fed, pointless arguments with NO answers, and tons of confusion. Remember when this place was fun and filled with laughter? Remember when this forum was a place to discuss valid relationship issues? Let's create some fun threads! Some pointless, weird, and humorous threads along side the serious ones. Let's stop arguing and allowing legalism and bitter trolls to rule this place.

What Lurks behind the zombie craze? How "Progressive" culture flirts with Cannibalism. <--Although this link leads to a website which is dedicated to the virgin Mary, the actual blog post linked above doesn't promote Catholicism, so don't worry about the website being catholic!

I'm sorry for posting a serious reply to a light-hearted thread, but information cannot be held back!!

In order to redeem myself for ruining the good cheer of DuchessAimee's thread, I'm going to post some jokes below!

Why did the pirate go to the Caribbean?
He wanted some arr and arr.
What is an astronaut's favorite snack?
The space bar.

Why did the skeleton go to the party alone?
He had no body to go with him!

Again, I'm sorry for ruining the cheery mood of this thread!

We should have a button in our profile where we could temporarily "ban" ourselves from a thread/ topic :D
(until trouble makes get themselves banned)

And The Walking Dead!!! That midseason finale was so epic!!! Also sad, but epic nonetheless. :)
I am not okay with about 95% of what happened on the midseason finale, but I suppose that's what makes a good show: Not everything can always turn out well. Except...he was one of my favorites. :(

I also held my breath quite a bit. I don't realize I'm doing it until after the scene is over and then I'm like, "Oh...whoops." Happens kinda often when I watch intense stuff, actually.

Yep. My mom and I shout at the tv sometimes when we're watching it. Too bad it doesn't come back on until February...

No one is trying to be insensitive. The discussion is more one of what to do when someone wants to wallow in brokenness and refuses to even accept the premise that Christ can, in fact, help all of us to overcome our burdens - even if things don't always improve, our attitude can and will if we let Christ do His work via the Holy Spirit.

I'm not accusing you of that either. I know you're trying as I've talked to you. You're a good man on the way to becoming an even better man. But none of us are ever truly good men (or women).

I have 31 on ignore and am close to adding 32 ;)
Wow dude.

I had 3 ignored for a while. But it's hard for me to commit to an ignoring, because it's almost like they're whispering behind your back once their threads get popular..... So now it's just 2.

Darn nosiness.

DuchessAimee (the OP) didn't say anything about not giving sympathy for those who are broken. She was addressing the threads full of pointless negativity that didn't seem to be going anywhere and were just causing arguing and division even despite people offering help. Hence the mention of trolls. Those kinds of threads are not uplifting to the broken. In fact they are the opposite.

It's good to vent and get support. It is not good for someone to troll and try to make others as miserable as they are for their own amusement. There is a huge difference.

I personally am glad she started this thread. If you have issues with the opposite sex, I'm sorry, but don't start a whole thread saying, women do this, or that. I don't like that. I think if you ask a question in general, for example. Why do most of my friends that are girls tend to put me in the friendzone? Then give us a little info. Not just "Fine women put us in the friendzone" why do all women do that?

Well well, way to put down a whole gender of people. I do not like or appreciate those threads. Same goes for any thread that would bash a man, a race, an animal or anything.

bunch of insensitive pseudo Christians here.
The first clue to spotting a pseudo-Christian is that they generally fail to post scripture.

Fortunately for you we know some Greek here on CC and it turns out that παρεισακτους ("false brethren") is actually a term that Paul used so we have some information how to recognize pseudo-Christians:

Gal 2:4 And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage:

people are not nuts. people are broken and it's not an easy fix.
The second clue to spotting a pseudo-Christian is that they generally fail to post scripture.

1 Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Amen. The answer to improving our walk with Christ is 'love,' that is the word in Scripture. It's a bit mind-boggling to think that it is that way, that both 'faith' and 'hope' take a backseat to.........

.............love.

1. Love of God first in our life.
2. Love of others, second.

That's it ! :)

Hisbucketsgirls asked about this and that's it, ALL the other laws (600 some in the OT alone) ALL fall under these two commandments :)

So, to look at #2, when our words are doing the opposite of loving others, that's NOT love :(

But, that said, we all err, we all make bad judgments, we need to be supportive of each other as not everyone can speak on c.c. in perfect unawkward words. So........ pray for those times words hurt you, or, others, and, as the Lord leads, speak up, in love, His Love pray for giving others, because that's going to not just be a beautiful way to do things, it's going to be perfect. The Lord leads, and, He leads us perfectly to Him and perfectly through life, through all our uPS and DOwns cuz we serve a gracious, awesome, merciful God :)

1 Corinthians 13:

8"Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. 13And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."

I'm terrible at recognising some trolls here. Sorry for unintentionally feeding those Shreks. I'll try to be more vigilant in the future.
Me too. I need to be more aware as well.

I agree that a lot of people are broken, probably all of us will be at some time. But there are definitely crazy people, too; and I don't mean that in the way that all of us are a little quirky in our own special way. Some people are seriously off their rocker.

There probably are some "pseudo Christians" here, but I'm not sure any of us should be so presumptuous as to sort the wheat from the proverbial tares here in CC. I'm sorry if some of people come across as insensitive. Just keep in mind that about 70-80% of effective communication is nonverbal. In on online forum, communication is stripped down to bare words; and emotions, inflections, and feelings have to be assumed. That leads to some overreaction and misinterpretation. Please try to extent grace by giving the benefit of the doubt to the offending writer. If they still annoy you, then we have the beautiful ignore option. :)

There should be an option to click on next to a post that is removed because someone is on ignore. You can click it to see the post.
