My son has many names:
Isaac
Isaac Matthew
Bubba
Little Man
Yitzach
Brudder
My Boy
Buddy
My picture of God's Faithfulness
My Namesake
Son

He's called many things by many different people, including myself. Depending on your relationship to him, or a particular moment or situation, or a particular language, he can be called many things. But it doesn't change who he is.

I believe it's the same with God. I call Him:
YHWH
Abba
Father
God
Lord
Yeshua
Jesus
Savior
Any particular name that refers to His characteristics throughout the Bible

Is His actual name something close to YHWH (Yahweh)? Probably. But I'm not going to get hung up on what people call Him (as long as it's not something like Bob).

No matter what variation of His name we call Him,

It doesn't change WHO He is, which is far more important that what we call Him.
Is there a Scripture where Yahweh says we can call Him whatever, just not Bob?

Why does none consult Yahweh on the matter?

Yeremyah 23:26-27, "How long will this be in the heart of the prophets who prophesy lies? Yes, they are prophets of the deceit of their own minds plan and scheme, to cause My people to forget My Name through their dreams, which they tell every man to his neighbor, just as their fathers have forgotten My Name for Baal."

Yeremyah 12:14-17, "This is what Yahweh says against all My evil neighbors who touch the inheritance which I have caused My people Israyl to inherit: Behold, I will pluck them up from off their land, and I will pluck up the house of Yahdah from among them. And it will come to pass, after I have plucked them out, that I will return and have compassion on them, and bring them back; everyone to his heritage and everyone to his land. And it will come to pass, if they will diligently learn the ways of My people, to vow by My Name, saying; As surely as Yahweh lives--as they once taught My people to vow by Baal; Lord--then they will be established in the midst of My people. But if they do not obey, I will utterly pluck up and destroy that nation, says Yahweh."

Did every person in the entire Scriptures only call Him Yahweh, or is He ever referred to by some other name?
Does YHWH only refer to Himself as YHWH In every single scripture in the Word?

no I dont mean it like that and im sorry for not explain more, I agree father, Ruler, Creator, etc and anything He says is OK is ok.

but some titles like Lord (Adonai) were never in the oldest "J" writings or Yahwistic writings, and we do agree on much and I dont mean to junp on you, but may wil lokk at it like "yeah, I can call Him whatever" according to Yahweh, this is not so.

with that said, knowing His name is not a "free pass" or "magic word"

The only "name" God calls Himself in the Old Testament is Yahweh, but there are many titles for Him.

In some places He states, "I am your Salvation," and it is uplifting to read this in Hebrew because the word, Salvation is Yeshua.........cool, wonderful and confirming much about our Father, oh yes, amen.

Ha! On first name terms with your god are you?
I actually never thought about it in that manner. By saying "Lord" and "God" it is similar to how in a respectful manner in the military we will call someone of higher rank "Sir" or "Sergent".

I know that the Spanish and Italian speakers call God the same word for "mister or sir" in their languages (Senor or signore) opposed to the word "lord" which we English speakers pretty much only use for God now adays unless we are referring to our landlord.

Perhaps this can give a larger perspective on the issue?

It's fine by me if you use'Yahweh,' I'm not out to offend anyone here. Fact is people 'like you' also tend to use hebrew Bible book names, and I'd appreciate it if they (i.e. 'Yahweh' fans) were more consistent about it. That's all.

I'm sorry I didn't consult with you before any posts I've made. Are there any more rules you wish to be followed?

I like calling Him Father also, personally speaking.
Do I understand this right? You sometimes like calling Him the English word Father instead of the Hebrew word Av and you believe it's wrong to call His Son by the English word Jesus whom in Hebrew your understanding is Yahshua.

"What shall I return to Yahweh (‎יהוה) for all his benefits toward me [http://biblehub.com/text/psalms/116-12.htm]? I will take up the cup of salvation and call upon the name of Yahweh (‎יהוה) [http://biblehub.com/text/psalms/116-13.htm]." ~ Psalm 116:12, 13

This is a bit of a side issue, but:

If it's important to be so dedicated to using the original Hebrew names that the anglicised versions are unacceptable or inferior, shouldn't we also be writing them in actual Hebrew, instead of Latin characters? Shouldn't the tetragrammaton actually be written יהוה instead of Yahweh, or even YHWH? If it's that important to use the right name, surely Hebrew is preferable to English?

Hmm, from my understanding of it after reading the Bible, all such names given to Him are merely titles, not his Proper Name.

In fact here is an interesting scripture for ponderance:

Revelation 19:12
His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.

I appreciate the video. I don't appreciate the attitude of many who joked here. How many of you know the meaning of each name Hizikyah posted? Are you sure meaning of names don't matter?
It takes time to learn. Until then, learn to accept.

He really said that?

I have two cents and a verse just for the OP.
First off, there is something messed up about persecuting someone for using the name God himself gave us. I agree that it's not appropriate to translate names. I had relatives that had to "Americanize" their names, not cool. The idea that on a world wide site, everyone should be speaking English is enough to ask in the days of google translate, asking people to strip away any more of their culture is not ok. And I've not once seen Hizikyah SAY that anyone else is sinning by calling God whatever, only giving us scripture to back up why HE (and he even says PERSONALLY and IMO) calls God Yahweh. I think there is something to be said about the issue, and to make fun of someone for what they call God, is making fun of God too. I'm gonna shut up now and let Him talk, from Proverbs, 6:16-19

These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,

An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,

A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
