I don't like the Kabalah that's in the video, but it's a pretty awesome blessing regardless. Because we have boys, our family replaces "Ruth and Esther" with "Ruth and Ephraim", and "May God make you, good husbands and wives, may he send you someone who will care for you".

This Sabbath has indeed been a blessing. Great message, good fellowship. etc. still a little of the Sabbath to go praise God.

I find it odd that you generate many posts about Sabbath and none (that I can recall) about Jesus.
Therefore no one is to act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day— things which are a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ. Col 2:16-17

That verse about acting as a judge, applies to you too... yet without realizing you are judging we are doing something not faithful to the Messiah by observing Sabbath.

This sermon I'm listening to right now is so good. The message is about love. Love cannot be put in a box, nor can it be appropriated, but should be given to everyone even those who do not deserve it. Jesus died for us while we were yet sinners, and if we have the love of Jesus abiding with us, we can love even ourselves, and that enough to overflowing to others. We are ambassadors for Jesus..we are called..and who He calls He will lead..Help us oh Lord to be about your business, you are working through us, to accomplish your goals. May we glorify the one who died for us, to give us everlasting life.

Nice try, but legalism and "judaizing" are false gospel messages (false or aberrant doctrine). The gospel is embodied in John 3:16. Believe in Jesus and be saved. The false gospel of legalism and Judaizing (often taught in christian cults) blurs the distinctions between the Old covenant of law and the new covenant of Grace. An example of this would be the assertion that we must believe in Jesus, obey the Sabbath and only eat kosher foods to be saved or approved by God.

I have eaten Kosher foods. I have attended Passover Seders. I have a mezuza on my door. However, I have done these things as purely elective and not out of a sense compulsion to law. So if you elect to observe the Sabbath that is fine, but if you are doing it because you believe it is law then you have been severed from Christ.

My original comment was not about observing the sabbath. It was about how Matt seems to only post on the sabbath, defending the sabbath observance, etc and rarely seems to mention Jesus. Where on focuses is where one's treasure is, right? Was I judging or showing concern?

Colosians 2:16 does not apply to me or others who warn or argue with those who claim the sabbath is law. Col. 2:16 is about freedom from the law. If you claim that I must keep parts of the old covenant and new covenant. It is adding new wine to old wine skins. The wine skins will burst and the wine becomes wasted on the ground.

I believe you have misplaced concern.

You have misused a verse against people who believe the Sabbath is to be observed...

I'm starting to believe people feel threatened by this belief.

Galatians 5

5 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
2 Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing.
3 For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law.
4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.
5 For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.
6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.

Erm.... no mention of Sabbath but of circumcision.
 
I'm always glad to see Matt post a new Sabbath thread. I haven't been keeping Sabbath long, and I'm excited to see this thread and read what others who keep Sabbath have to say. It's always such a blessing to hear when there is joy about it. But I love this thread and hope Matt always posts it. I'd be let down if he didn't and I guess some others would too. Sabbath is a blessing and a gift, I make it last as long as I can.

John 14:15 Jesus himself said - If you love me Keep my Commandments. I am a Sabbath keeper and I just want to obey my Lord and Savior who asked me to show my love to Him by keeping His commandments. Not from legalism do I do this but out of love for what He has done for me. I am saved by grace it is a gift from God and I accept it.
