i would kindly suggest that you should ought to rethink the idea of opening yourself to the labels, as the characteristics of what your behavior has suggested might be true about someone who feels the need to size up and judge another based upon the limited scope of which you have to draw on. one has almost an unlimited supply of biblical characters to draw on for that...

seriously? in a "culture of violence" thread you're going to throw these rocks?

You know, Praus, for someone who reads a lot of scripture (and applies in ANYWAY possible, even when it doesn't make sense) it amazes me to see the lengths that you will go to in order prove your judgment on a person.

I say that, knowing fully well that the next step you are going to take is to dredge your way through every single one of my past posts and pull out one of my own quotes to say, "HEY SHOUR, YOU'RE JUDGMENTAL TOO! NYAH NYAH NYAH!" Because this is what you do. It floors me that you have the kind of time and energy to go hunting for every tidbit you can find on a Facebook profile, just so that you can say "GOTCHA!"

Make you feel good? Do you sleep well and justfied that you GOT that person? You pulled something up from their past and slapped them in the face with it?

Because, that's what Christ would do, right? That's what Christ called us to do. To basically run the US Weekly or TMZ route...go digging through a person's past just to prove our point? Stick it to everyone you can, just like Jesus did.

I don't know a whole lot about you. But from what I've gleaned, you've had some struggles with substance abuse. I'm sure that you'd really appreciate it if everytime you disagree with something that I said, I respond with, "Yeah, well I'm not sure I'd trust the thought processes of a former addict. Not really trustworthy, you know?"

Or I can look past your past, the things you've done and the things you've said out of anger, out of spite, out of misjudgment, and treat you like a brother who I don't necessarily agree with.

So do your thing. Spend a bunch of time sifting through my roughly 1400 posts. Dig through my Facebook. Find my old LiveJournal. Find something to throw back in my face. Shut me up with my own words. Tell me how much of a hypocrite I am, as if I don't already know. Tell me how I'm going to hell because I've visited breweries, make me feel horrible because I'm a fan of a non-kosher meat on Facebook. Take every word you can find and twist against me just so you can win. Reap those rewards that Christ is stockpiling in heaven for you. Show me your love.

Because that really seems to be what you're most interested in doing. Me, I think I can find better uses of my time than stuff like that. Even playing a mindless video game sounds like a more productive activity than digging as deep as you can to tear someone down.

I'm so sorry. Praus is a troll who until recently was mostly harmless. I'm sure that some have already reported that post.
 
heavenly father,

please help us, your children to you honor you in word and deed through our actions and thoughts. you ask us to love others, to be identified by the manner in which we love one another, and because you love them.

it is difficult to stand by and watch others be hurt by violence, and i pray that if anyone could benefit from the video clip that was shared earlier, that it might have profound impact upon them.

most of all, i pray that we, who are on cc and stand up to identify ourselves as your people would show your love and grace to others, because you call us to that standard. help me to choose my words with love and kindness so that i would not provoke, nor create distension among us. i ask you to bless our discussions, help us to see clearly and receive insight from you.

thank you for your loving us in spite of our imperfections. help us to search for the good in one another, instead of searching for what might be wrong. help us to show love in every deed that we do.

Other then the prayer above this whole thing has become ugly (not CC member Ugly) and disturbing, posting someone's Facebook. Yikes how do you even do that if you don't know their last name????


I've never asked this before but can this thread be closed by a moderator? And please don't judge someone because she like's Oprah, I think I do to on FB. I went to her page saw something I liked and clicked follow.
 
Although I have my own opinions on the subject of this thread I have kept them to myself rather than to throw gasoline on a wildfire. Sometimes it amazes me how a topic can become so inflammatory to the point of making personal attacks and outrageous generalizations down both sides of the argument.

Consider this a warning that if this thread continues down this path it will be closed and action will be taken against the offenders. If you can not discuss this topic in a mature and civil fashion DO NOT RESPOND IN IT.

just_monicat, I'm so sorry to see that this has happened to you. I find the clear violation of your privacy HIGHLY disturbing and would encourage the admins to delete this post, as it poses a personal danger to you.

I would encourage you to report this behavior to both this site and Facebook, if not your local authorities.
 
I came back to this thread to use it for good.

If you (MEN OR WOMEN) have been abused in ANY way, sexually or otherwise, report it. You may not have a case. You may not be believed. Report it anyway. Why? Because if someone has abused/attacked you, chances are very good that they have either done it before and/or they will do it again. There is strength in numbers ladies and gentlemen, especially in the court systems. I can't tell you how many times there has not been enough evidence against a person to charge and/or convict them, BUT eventually there MIGHT BE in another case, and when two or three other people, especially people who don't know one another, join forces, it changes things.

The SAME is true if you have wrongly been accused of such crimes. If someone sets you up and/or falsely accuses you and gets by with it, they have likely done it to someone else and/or will do it again. Report it whether anything happens at that time or not.

You never know who you might be helping. It might be a complete stranger. It might be someone you know and love. It might be yourself.

Sometimes people use their cc name on their FB page.....all a person needs to do is type it in the FB search field. Although what he did was wrong in my opinion, it was not illegal. If people would learn to quit responding to posters that are craving for attention, things wouldn't spiral out of control like this thread has.
