Well it may not be impossible for that Couple to break their promise to God, but I can assure you that breaking a vow or promise to God is not a light thing. In the Scriptures, whenever someone made a vow to God, they were to keep that vow and perform it (Num. 30:1-16, Judges 11:30-40, 2 Sam. 15:7-8, Job 22:27, Psa. 50:14, Psa. 61:8, Psa. 116:14, Ecc. 5:4-6, Isa. 19:21, Jonah 2:9, Acts 18:18).

One of the purposes of betrothal is so that the couple will not have any backdoor exits on their vow to be married.

And that's what makes Betrothal different then just some "normal" and "everyday" engagement.

In Betrothal, a woman has entered into a covenant agreement to marriage.

In an engagement; while the woman has agreed to marry the man, yet she has not entered into a covenant agreement.

Well then that is your choice Liamson. But I prefer to stick with God's way regarding the preparation for a marriage.

And Betrothal is not an "everyday" or a "common" thing. Especially in a country like North America!

Oh and another thing Liamson; betrothal is not some "clearance" or "discount" option. That's what wordly dating is.

Betrothal is the best option. I suggest you do some studying into the Biblical practice of Betrothal.

For that matter, courtship and courting aren't in the KVJ Bible, either. Neither are trinity and rapture.

Regarding the word "trinity..." the word isn't in the Bible, but that doesn't mean that the concept isn't.

A date is a date. During a date, you go out to dinner or a movie. You talk and get to know one another. This is what most people think of when they hear that someone went on a "date". I have never heard that someone went on a date, and assumed that sex was involved. O_O

Unfortunately, I have heard people make this assumption.

It depends on the perspective of the listeners.

I have loved more than once and do not regret it, as I have learned a great deal even from my mistakes. Loving someone is not enough for me to decide to marry them (I'm waiting for so much more than that because I know it's out there), but I cannot see myself marrying someone I do not love.
