How 'bout......search the scriptures. Cartoons are for children. Your disrespect is also childish. Every thread on CC gets turned into a who can outdo the other with their own cleaver mind. We all all wads of clay. We are subject to the Almighty, and it pains me to see His Word twisted and mocked. I can only imagine how He feels about it. Maybe we should regard what He thinks, more than what we think.

What disrespect? You disrespect Christ by promoting you're elitists make-believe phony contract. The OP put their foot in their mouth on the first post. And now that I pointed it out the original purpose of this thread, which is an orchestrated attempt to drag people under your phony contracts, is in shambles where it rightly belongs.

WRONG!!! The new covenant REPLACED the old. What is it about plain scripture that makes you want to reject it so easily?

Hebrews 8:13In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.

We don't stone people anymore etc..Scripture is misrepresented by using a line or 2 here and there, to make it say what you want. The whole thing is to be considered.
[SUP]17 [/SUP]“Don’t think that I have come to abolish the Torah or the Prophets. I have come not to abolish but to complete. [SUP]18 [/SUP]Yes indeed! I tell you that until heaven and earth pass away, not so much as a yud or a stroke will pass from the Torah — not until everything that must happen has happened. [SUP]19 [/SUP]So whoever disobeys the least of these mitzvot and teaches others to do so will be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven. But whoever obeys them and so teaches will be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven. [SUP]20 [/SUP]For I tell you that unless your righteousness is far greater than that of the Torah-teachers and P’rushim, you will certainly not enter the Kingdom of Heaven!

Now they're resorting to quoting from the Complete Jewish Bible... lol... too funny

Like it or not, the Jews gave us the Word by the Maker's spirit. Hebrew was their language. Messiah was not a white man! How's that for funny?

God gave us the written word through godly men. There is no such thing as a white man or a black man.... you will never hear God referring to men by the pigment of their skin nor will He refer to His Son by the pigment of His skin as He dwelt in the flesh. You're trapped within the flesh because of your make-believe contract.

Simply put: keeping Covenant yields blessing – breaking Covenant yields curses. Deuteronomy 28 spells out more than twenty-five blessings for the keepers of Covenant! However, the more than sixty curses reserved for Covenant breakers put things firmly in perspective. History plainly reveals what happened when the children of Israel forgot about their part of the Covenant with God – just like Christians today. See Revelation 2:4.The sequence goes like this: forgotten covenants lead to broken covenants, which inevitably must lead to curses.

“Curses” – another one of those words New Testament Christians don’t like, and because of the evolution of society and the church, we like to think “curses” don’t apply to us anymore. But make no mistake; breaking Covenant will be followed by curses, and curses are not merely something the local witch casts upon her enemies. We can read the Apostle Paul’s description of Covenant breakers in Romans 1:26-31 as downright depraved and filled with every imaginable wickedness there is.

I read a simple description of covenant breaking related to Christianity that I think is a good parable, if you will. “Covenant breakers are like dish breakers. You may own a beautiful set of imported china, but if you break one cup, you lose the benefits of that piece. If you break all the pieces, all the benefits of the china are lost. Yes, the set of dishes are still yours, and you can look at them and think about how pretty they were and how expensive they were to buy. You can talk about them to your friends, but you can’t use them. They are broken! As a child of God you hold in your heart all of the wonderful costly blessings and promises paid for by the blood of Jesus. God’s covenant nature confines Him to the laws of Covenant… God will not override the laws of Covenant to give you your blessing. Just like you may own a broken dish, a broken promise is a lost blessing, rendered useless because of your broken covenant. Just think what happens when you break all of your covenants? No wonder some of us have little joy and satisfaction in our lives as well as ineffective prayers.”

I think you are conflating the Sinaitic Covenant and the New Covenant.
And it's not the "renewed" covenant...it's New! :)

The Sinaitic Covenant was between God and national Israel, and was a Suzerain Treaty. (both parties had responsibilities to perform in order to maintain the covenant)
The Covenant made in Christ's blood is completely God given and God maintained, like the one He made with Abraham.

Genesis 15 gives us a record of God's covenant with Abraham, and though Abraham had set up the carcasses in the manner of treaties of the day, only God walked through them, confirming He alone was responsible for keeping that covenant. It was according to His Promise.

It is the same with the New Covenant made through the Lord Jesus.
And Christ redeemed those found in Him from the curse of the Law.

Gal 3:10-14
For as many as are of the works of the Law are under a curse; for it is written, “CURSED IS EVERYONE WHO DOES NOT ABIDE BY ALL THINGS WRITTEN IN THE BOOK OF THE LAW, TO PERFORM THEM.” Now that no one is justified by the Law before God is evident; for, “THE RIGHTEOUS MAN SHALL LIVE BY FAITH.” However, the Law is not of faith; on the contrary, “HE WHO PRACTICES THEM SHALL LIVE BY THEM.
”Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for us—for it is written, “CURSED IS EVERYONE WHO HANGS ON A TREE”— in order that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we would receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

To “proclaim” you are saved is a proclamation. If she doesn’t mean what she says then better she not say anything at all.

Since you can't seem to comprehend: Many people claim to be Christians, and we all know that doesn't mean they are, and it is a parallel to the many people who sign their marriage certificate but that doesn't mean they will abide by it. Or those who sign a contract to buy something like a house or a car, and we all know that just because they signed the contract that does not mean they will keep making the payments.

The phrase separation of church and state is only that, a phrase. Our constitution doesn't pull us away from the principles we stand for, it simply says we have the freedom from the state not to be governed by them in our choice or belief in what ever religion. And that choice was made long before 1948.

You aren't making much sense...and look at us now. Don't know about you but I can still go to any denominational church freely and believe in God the way I wish.

The intent and wording is that we should be free from a state run, state enforced religion. The wording does not even imply that we are free from religion.

She is merging the covenants into her own contract which is exactly what the old covenant butchers do which is why you’re all here supporting her.

To “proclaim” you are saved is a proclamation. If she doesn’t mean what she says then better she not say anything at all.

The old covenant was read into the ears of the people and they acknowledged it with a vocal proclamation. That has nothing to do with the New Covenant. The New Covenant is not read into the ears of the people and it is not acknowledged by a vocal proclamation but by the Holy Spirit… It’s not like magic where one says “hocus-pocus” and they are saved. But many pull the “confess with your lips” scripture out of context and as a result there are millions of deviants running around who think they are saved contrasting the old covenant butchers who think they are saved by their make-believe contracts. I really don’t know which is worse but they both lead to the same end.

I understand people would want the covenants of God in separate categories. I don’t think that is what is being presented in this thread. All the covenants before Christ were broken because “works” never made the grade. Today, covenants can be broken because “words” only will never make the grade either.

I know that it’s a hard thing to comprehend that the new covenant can be broken. It is clear to me now that the OP reveals this. Let’s quote the verse you mentioned and take it out of context to show the human nature you are revealing.

Romans 10:9 (KJV)
[SUP]9 [/SUP]That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
It doesn’t say.

Romans 10:9 (KJV)

[SUP]9 [/SUP]That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth that Jesus saves, and shalt say this with an insincere heart even if you know that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
They still confess with their mouth, which makes the covenant binding. The covenant always has stipulations in scripture if it s broken. We read in the Bible over and over how covenants were broken. Now neither the Father, or the Son will break the covenant established in Christ, but humans can, and will. If we weren’t involved, this great and final covenant would never be broken, or even necessary. The OP makes it clear that when we voice agreement, we are involved in covenant with whomever we agreed with. I think the truth of it all points toward this.

Matthew 15:8 (KJV)

[SUP]8 [/SUP]This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
Last but not least there is a parable Jesus taught. A man asked his first son to go to work, and the son refused but later repented. The other son said he would go to work and never did. The second son agreed with what the father said, and broke that agreement but not doing what the father asked of him. That is a covenant/agreement that is broken, not buy the father, but by a liar. Matthew 21:28-31.

Bottom line, the covenant in Christ can be broken, and some (professing only) Christians today refuse to acknowledge this truth. The failure to acknowledge this is due to a proud heart, and a holier than thou attitude. So when we confess that we are saved, we are bound to the covenant despite our insincerity. We have hell to pay without a repentant heart. Salvation is current, not a thing of he past,

The apostles used the Aramaic old and new testament, because they spoke that language.
Exact copies are avaiable if you want to buy one, some are into english, but their translation into English are a bit unclear as are the king james, so the next best thing is to take a king james and click on any word and see their real meanings.

I thought that the original post was clear and very edifying.

Are we not called "the bride of Christ." Even in this world when a marriage takes place there is a contract, and God takes that contract very seriously. You can find that recorded throughout the word of God.

Matthew 12:36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

If these things haven't been studied out, the only thing that a person has to speak on any biblical subject would be idle words. It's so much easier to study something out than it is to hold our tongue and be certain that what we speak is the truth.

Psalms 50:16 But unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, or that thou shouldest take my covenant in thy mouth?
Psalms 50:17 Seeing thou hatest instruction, and casteth my words behind thee.

2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
2 Timothy 3:17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Keep sharing the truth Sister.

Like I said in the previous post to you Rockbysea. A covenant with Christ can be broken, and that break has always been instigated by the human, annd not by God. As the OP said we are obligated just by what we say we will live up to.

Deuteronomy 23:23 (KJV)
[SUP]23 [/SUP]That which is gone out of thy lips thou shalt keep and perform; even a freewill offering, according as thou hast vowed unto the LORD thy God, which thou hast promised with thy mouth.

If a covenant couldn't be broken the exhortation to live up to the words spoken in the previous verse would never have been issued. Does anybody really think that human nature has changed after Christ rose from the dead, and now we can live up to any thing that we say just because we profess being saved without the sincerity of living our salvation?

Jeremiah 22:9 (KJV)
[SUP]9 [/SUP]Then they shall answer, Because they have forsaken the covenant of the LORD their God, and worshipped other gods, and served them.

Romans 9:6 (KJV)
[SUP]6 [/SUP]Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:

Matthew 5:34 (KJV)
[SUP]34 [/SUP]But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne:

James 5:12 (KJV)
[SUP]12 [/SUP]But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation.

I think you are conflating the Sinaitic Covenant and the New Covenant.
I am not so ignorant as to conflate two items I am not even talking about, nor am I that flummoxed, as some here may think.
And it's not the "renewed" covenant...it's New!
I will not get into that because it is a whole separate and very divisive issue.
The Sinaitic Covenant was between God and national Israel, and was a Suzerain Treaty. (both parties had responsibilities to perform in order to maintain the covenant)
As do all covenants. They are agreements between two parties and have been since antiquity.
The Covenant made in Christ's blood is completely God given and God maintained, like the one He made with Abraham.
That is a pretty good explanation of the false teaching abounding today that says Christians have no responsibility in return for all God has done for them. Many of those same people obliviously muddle through each day blissfully unaware of their own false conversion and that someday Christ will say to them, "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. "Many will say to Me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in your name perform many miracles?’ "And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.' Matthew 7:21-23 (NAS)
It appears to me that my purpose for sharing the results of my study of the covenants has come to naught with some on this thread. Arrogance and lack of humility prevent understanding, and the ever-important edification of one another.
Gal 3:10-14For as many as are of the works of the Law are under a curse; for it is written, “CURSED IS EVERYONE WHO DOES NOT ABIDE BY ALL THINGS WRITTEN IN THE BOOK OF THE LAW, TO PERFORM THEM.” Now that no one is justified by the Law before God is evident; for, “THE RIGHTEOUS MAN SHALL LIVE BY FAITH.” However, the Law is not of faith; on the contrary, “HE WHO PRACTICES THEM SHALL LIVE BY THEM.”Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for us—for it is written, “CURSED IS EVERYONE WHO HANGS ON A TREE”— in order that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we would receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
Great scripture, but I can assure you it was never meant to be wrongly divided releasing us from any responsibility since “Jesus did it all.” This thread was never intended to claim we are “under the law” and obtain our salvation by keeping the letter of the law. It was intended to share with (edify) other believers. Communication is a sacrifice well-pleasing to the Lord and we are to edify one another.Jesus redeemed us from the curse of the law when we enter into covenant with Him, which has been established upon the prior covenants of God.I am sad for all of the people who claim to be Christians but refuse to believe they have any responsibility, have no desire to learn from others because they think they are smarter than everyone else with the exception of the few they deem as their equals. Oh, one more thing, I have one more extremely important scripture to share, but please excuse the fact I use one that mentions the detested word "sacrifice" as in the law. "Therefore, I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship." Romans 12:1 (NAS)

Amen sis!! Good explanations.

Exodus 20:7 (KJV)
[SUP]7 [/SUP]Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

Thank you. Sometimes it is discouraging but I just looked and as of now this thread has had 490 views - and that tells me plenty of people want to learn, and not just cause contention.

Every time we say "I promise" we enter into covenant.

Are many professing Christians intentionally denying this truth because it holds them to responsibility, and accountability in God's sight?

Watch out when you describe being free in Christ!
